Abstract

Ethnopedagogy is simply culture-based learning, both used as a source of learning and as a learning medium. One culture that has high educational value is the Haul Mbah Supondriyo tradition, an annual commemoration event to honor local figures who are respected for their services in establishing Sepande Village. The purpose of this study is to explore more deeply how the Haul Mbah Supondriyo tradition can be integrated as a learning resource for elementary school students in accordance with the independent curriculum. The research method uses qualitative research with ethnographic methods. The data collection techniques used are participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. There are four informants who are the sources of this study including village government figures, cultural figures, community leaders who are their descendants, and youth figures. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this study indicate that the Haul Mbah Supondriyo tradition is a hereditary tradition of the residents of Sepande Village which has a meaning as a form of gratitude, gratitude to the founding figure, and praying to God Almighty so that Sepande Village is always safe, peaceful, and free from negative things. In addition, Haul Mbah Supondriyo contains materials related to cultural diversity contained in several contents such as Social Studies, Pancasila Education and Indonesian. The findings of the material are then integrated with learning that can be applied in elementary schools, especially phase C based on learning achievements and learning objectives. The material is developed in the form of digital and non-digital teaching materials.

Abstract

Sand-frying of crackers is a traditional technique that has been used for a long time, especially in several regions of Indonesia. This method is unique because it uses sand as a heat transfer medium for frying crackers, instead of oil. This research aims to document the traditional process of sand-frying crackers as a form of cultural heritage preservation and to combine traditional knowledge with modern technology to create unique and value-added cracker product innovations. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative methods are research methods that focus on in-depth observation to understand social phenomena, events, and individuals. The data collection techniques used by the researcher are: (1) In-depth interviews, a data collection technique conducted through question-and-answer sessions between the researcher and the informant. (2) Observation, a data collection technique through observation and recording of the object being studied. (3) Documentation, collecting information from various written sources, such as books, journal articles, and local publications. When conducting interviews, the researcher not only recorded the answers from the informants. From this research, it was found that the sand-frying process gives a unique flavor to the crackers that is different from frying using oil and that crackers fried with sand have a much lower oil content compared to crackers fried with oil. This makes sand-fried crackers a healthier alternative. Sand-frying crackers is a cultural heritage that needs to be preserved. Crackers fried with sand tend to have a crispier texture, are more durable, and have a much lower oil content compared to crackers fried with oil. This makes sand-fried crackers a healthier and more attractive alternative for health-conscious consumers. By developing this method, we also preserve traditional knowledge and skills.

Abstract

Abstract, The blacksmith tradition in Indonesia reflects cultural values, perseverance and skills passed down from generation to generation which not only have economic value but also educational value. The blacksmith profession utilizes hereditary skills in heating and processing metal, which are relevant to scientific concepts. This research aims to integrate the blacksmith profession in Pandean Hamlet, Ngingas Village as a learning resource on heat-conducting materials for elementary school students with a local wisdom approach through ethnopedagogy. This research aims to explore blacksmith activities as a source of ethnopedagogical learning in elementary schools. Using descriptive qualitative research methods, this research explores the processes and techniques used by blacksmiths in heating and processing metal, as well as the cultural values contained in the blacksmithing profession.  Data was collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with blacksmiths, as well as documentation of their daily activities. The research results show that blacksmithing practices in Pandean Hamlet, Ngingas Village contain educational value that can be integrated into science material for elementary schools. The process of heating metal at a blacksmith provides a concrete example of the concept of heat conductor, where heated metal becomes a good conductor of heat and changes shape according to the heat treatment given. Black pande activities involve local values such as hard work, perseverance, and skills, which are important to teach to students in character building. The conclusion of this research is that blacksmith activities in Ngingas Village have the potential to be an effective learning resource, not only in explaining the concept of heat conduction, but also in instilling cultural values and life skills in students.
