Abstract

This study examines the effect of indexing techniques on SQL query execution speed in a MySQL-based e-commerce transaction database. Performance issues often arise as data volume increases because the system must scan the entire table, resulting in slow response times. To analyze this problem, this study employed a pure experimental method by testing three index conditions: no index, a single index, and a composite index. Testing was conducted using a synthetic dataset of 20,000 rows depicting e-commerce transaction activity. Each condition was evaluated using a series of SELECT queries. Measurements were made through execution time and execution plans displayed by the EXPLAIN command. The results showed that using indexes provided a significant performance improvement. A single index successfully reduced execution time from 0.2380 seconds to 0.0740 seconds, while a composite index resulted in an execution time of 0.0900 seconds. Both types of indexes reduced the number of rows scanned across the entire table to only tens of rows. A single index is more suitable for simple queries with high selectivity, while a composite index is more effective for queries with more than one condition. However, implementing an index requires additional storage space and causes the data write process to run slightly slower. Overall, this study confirms that an indexing strategy tailored to query patterns and data characteristics can significantly improve the performance of e-commerce transaction databases.Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh teknik indexing terhadap kecepatan eksekusi query SQL pada basis data transaksi e-commerce berbasis MySQL. Gangguan kinerja sering muncul ketika jumlah data meningkat karena sistem harus melakukan pemindaian seluruh tabel yang menyebabkan waktu respon menjadi lambat. Untuk menganalisis permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini menerapkan metode eksperimen murni dengan menguji tiga kondisi indeks yaitu tanpa indeks, indeks tunggal, dan indeks komposit. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan dataset sintetis berjumlah 20.000 baris yang menggambarkan aktivitas transaksi e-commerce. Setiap kondisi dievaluasi menggunakan serangkaian query SELECT. Pengukuran dilakukan melalui waktu eksekusi dan rencana eksekusi yang ditampilkan oleh perintah EXPLAIN. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan indeks memberikan peningkatan performa yang sangat signifikan. Indeks tunggal berhasil menurunkan waktu eksekusi dari 0,2380 detik menjadi 0,0740 detik, sedangkan indeks komposit menghasilkan waktu eksekusi 0,0900 detik. Kedua jenis indeks ini mengurangi jumlah baris yang dipindai dari seluruh tabel menjadi hanya puluhan baris. Indeks tunggal lebih sesuai untuk query sederhana dengan selectivity yang tinggi, sedangkan indeks komposit lebih efektif untuk query yang memiliki lebih dari satu kondisi. Meskipun demikian, penerapan indeks memerlukan ruang penyimpanan tambahan dan menyebabkan proses penulisan data berjalan sedikit lebih lambat. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa strategi indexing yang disesuaikan dengan pola query dan karakteristik data mampu meningkatkan performa basis data transaksi e-commerce secara signifikan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparative memory efficiency and computation time of three commonly used data search algorithms in C++ programming: Linear Search, Binary Search, and Hash Search. This study analyzes the performance of each algorithm based on two main aspects: execution speed and memory usage, to determine the most appropriate algorithm for various data conditions. The research method used was a quantitative comparative experiment, where each algorithm was implemented in C++ and tested on three data size scenarios (100, 1000, and 10,000 elements). The results obtained indicate that Binary Search has the best balance between speed and memory efficiency. At the same time, Linear Search is more suitable for small data sizes due to its simplicity of implementation. Conversely, Hash Search has high search speed but requires more memory. Therefore, the selection of the appropriate search algorithm should be tailored to the characteristics of the data and system requirements. This study is expected to serve as a reference for software developers in selecting the optimal search algorithm based on computational resource efficiency.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbandingan efisiensi memori dan waktu komputasi pada tiga algoritma pencarian data yang umum digunakan dalam pemrograman C++, yaitu Linear Search, Binary Search, dan Hash Search. Penelitian ini menganalisis kemampuan kerja pada masing-masing algoritma berdasarkan dua aspek utama, yakni kecepatan eksekusi dan penggunaan memori, agar dapat menentukan algoritma yang paling sesuai untuk berbagai kondisi data. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen komparatif kuantitatif, di mana setiap algoritma diimplementasikan menggunakan bahasa C++ dan diuji pada tiga skenario ukuran data (100, 1000, dan 10000 elemen). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa Binary Search memiliki kinerja paling seimbang antara kecepatan dan efisiensi memori, sedangkan Linear Search lebih cocok untuk data yang ukuranya kecil karena kesederhanaan implementasinya. Sebaliknya, Hash Search memiliki kecepatan pencarian yang tinggi, tetapi membutuhkan memori lebih besar. Dengan demikian, pemilihan algoritma pencarian yang tepat sebaiknya disesuaikan dengan karakteristik data dan kebutuhan sistem. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi pengembang perangkat lunak dalam memilih algoritma pencarian yang optimal berdasarkan efisiensi sumber daya komputasi

Abstract

The development of digital communications has increased the risk of message interception and manipulation, necessitating robust and multi-layered security solutions. This research designs, implements, and evaluates a multi-layered security scheme that integrates cryptography and steganography. The proposed method first encrypts the secret message using the Camellia-256 algorithm in Electronic Codebook (ECB) mode with PKCS#7 padding. The resulting ciphertext is then embedded into the cover image using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) steganography technique. From a practical standpoint, this design provides defense-in-depth for covert communication: encryption preserves confidentiality even if the hidden payload is detected, while steganography reduces the likelihood that the encrypted content is flagged during transmission. This combination mitigates LSB’s weakness against statistical steganalysis by encrypting the payload into ciphertext, thereby reducing structured bit patterns that may otherwise facilitate statistical detection. System performance is quantitatively evaluated using two primary metrics: the Avalanche Effect to measure cryptographic strength and the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) to measure the visual imperceptibility of the stego-image. The experimental results demonstrate excellent cryptographic strength, evidenced by an average Avalanche Rate of 54.37%, indicating that minimal changes to the input result in significant changes to the output. Furthermore, the scheme exhibits excellent visual imperceptibility with an average PSNR of 75 dB, making the stego-image visually indistinguishable from the original cover image. It is concluded that the proposed hybrid scheme offers a robust and validated solution for secure message communication, combining content confidentiality through cryptography and message obfuscation through steganography, thus providing dual protection against cybersecurity threats.

Abstract

Artikel pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini membahas bagaimana pelatihan penulisan karya akademik kolaboratif berbentuk book chapter berbantuan AI dapat memperkuat literasi akademik mahasiswa calon guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh persoalan praktis di UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, yaitu mahasiswa telah mengenal perangkat digital, tetapi masih membutuhkan pendampingan terstruktur agar penggunaan teknologi dapat diarahkan pada penulisan akademik yang etis, kritis, dan layak dikembangkan menuju publikasi. Artikel ini memosisikan AI bukan sebagai pengganti kepengarangan, melainkan sebagai alat bantu untuk memetakan gagasan, menyusun kerangka, mengembangkan draf, merevisi, dan memperbaiki koherensi tulisan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan service learning dengan melibatkan 120 mahasiswa PAI melalui tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan, pemaparan konsep, praktik terbimbing, kerja kelompok, presentasi, dan refleksi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap struktur book chapter, tumbuhnya kepercayaan diri dalam menulis akademik, serta tersusunnya draf awal book chapter kolaboratif bertema pendidikan Islam dan transformasi digital. Kegiatan ini juga menunjukkan perlunya pendampingan lanjutan terkait verifikasi sumber, sitasi, orisinalitas, dan finalisasi naskah menuju publikasi.

Abstract

Data sorting is a fundamental step in the computer process that greatly affects the effectiveness of programs and overall system performance. In this study, three sorting algorithms, namely Bubble Sort, Insertion Sort, and Intro Sort, are analyzed and compared using recursive and iterative approaches. Bubble Sort serves as a basic algorithm example to understand the basic idea of element exchange, while Insertion Sort was chosen for its efficiency on small and nearly sorted datasets. Intro Sort, as a combination algorithm that integrates Quick Sort, Heap Sort, and Insertion Sort, was studied to reveal how its adaptive mechanism can provide more optimal results. The testing was conducted by measuring execution speed, sorting stability, and memory usage efficiency. The findings from this study show that Bubble Sort ranks lowest in terms of performance and is less suitable for large data sets. Insertion Sort shows better results on small data sets and those with similar patterns. Intro Sort emerges as the most effective algorithm with stable processing time, high adaptability, and faster and more efficient sorting results for various data sizes. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of choosing a sorting algorithm that suits the characteristics of the data and the needs of the application. The combination of adaptive strategies such as those in Intro Sort is the best solution for current data processing, which demands high speed and efficiency.

Abstract

Indonesia's diversity is very rich, one of which is that Indonesia has herbal plants which people believe are natural medicines for curing diseases. Herbal leaves show different variations in size and shape for each type, indicating that each leaf has special characteristics, shape, texture and size. Researchers used one of the Deep Learning methods, namely Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for classifying herbal leaves. The field of image classification has found CNNs to be quite effective for image classification. CNN is a type of neural network with convolutional layers that has the ability to automatically extract important features from images. MobileNet is a CNN structure created by Google. MobileNet has advantages in efficient use of computing resources. Specifically, in the MobileNet network model, an attention module was added to improve the model's ability to extract more detailed image features, and dropout technology was added to prevent overfitting. This research method includes image preprocessing, training a convolutional neural network-based model, and evaluating its performance using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score metrics. Training was conducted for 20 epochs, and testing was conducted using data separated from the training data. The evaluation results show that the MobileNet model has the ability to extract visual features and produce herbal leaf image classification with an accuracy rate of 97.50% and precision, recall, and F1 scores of 98% each. The proposed model can be used in mobile-based herbal leaf identification applications due to its high performance and lightweight architecture. The stable accuracy curve at the final epoch indicates that the model does not experience significant overfitting and is able to generalize well to the test data

Abstract

The development of digital technology has positioned video games beyond mere entertainment to become a cultural medium with the potential to influence players' social and political perspectives. In this context, video games are seen as relevant as a medium for political socialization because they present interactive narratives, moral choices, and social simulations that allow players to directly experience dilemmas of power, justice, responsibility, and state-citizen relations. This article aims to analyze the potential of video games as a medium for political socialization, examine narrative elements that influence the formation of political awareness, and examine the possibility of integrating the Indonesian socio-cultural context into game narratives. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review design through a search of various literature sources. The results indicate that video games can serve as a medium for informal political socialization through participatory experiences, moral reflection, and the immersive internalization of political values. This potential will be further enhanced by incorporating local Indonesian contexts, such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), diversity, and social justice. This study confirms that video games are worthy of being positioned as an educational-cultural medium that can expand political education models in the digital era.

Abstract

Although data retrieval is a fundamental task in any computational system, search algorithms are often used statically and ignore runtime dataset properties. This frequently results in wasted computing power in structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data environments. This study presents a lightweight dynamic search algorithm selection framework called the Intelligent Search Adaptation Mechanism (ISAM), which operates at runtime and uses the cardinality, sortedness, and uniformity of the dataset's value distribution as criteria for selecting the optimal search algorithm. ISAM is an adaptive dispatch mechanism for selecting intelligent algorithms, unlike traditional algorithms.ISAM is an intelligent algorithm selection unified dispatch mechanism. ISAM has been tested with synthetic data sets of 1,000 to 1,000,000 elements implemented in C++. For unsorted datasets, the overhead incurred by ISAM is negligible, and for sorted datasets, it can reduce query latency by up to 73.1× over a non-adaptive baseline of Sequential Search. In fact, the retrieval performance is found to be close to the theoretical complexity of the chosen search algorithm, through scalability analysis. The results show how intelligent runtime search orchestration works well in a heterogeneous data environment.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini berangkat dari kebutuhan penguatan literasi parenting inklusi pada komunitas pendidikan, terutama dalam memahami anak berkebutuhan khusus, mengurangi stigma, dan menerjemahkan prinsip pendidikan inklusif ke dalam praktik pengasuhan serta pembelajaran sehari-hari. Program dilaksanakan melalui workshop partisipatif yang memadukan edukasi konsep, refleksi kasus, pengenalan Universal Design for Learning (UDL), adaptasi kurikulum, dan pemanfaatan studi kasus berbantu AI secara terbatas. Metode pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Learning and Action dengan tahapan pemetaan masalah, penyusunan materi, pelaksanaan workshop, praktik analisis kasus, dan evaluasi formatif. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi proses, catatan diskusi, lembar refleksi, serta matriks rencana tindak lanjut. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa materi parenting inklusi lebih mudah dipahami ketika peserta diajak membaca kasus konkret, membedakan model sekolah reguler, inklusi, dan SLB, serta menyusun strategi berbasis UDL sesuai kebutuhan anak. Integrasi AI membantu menghadirkan variasi skenario diskusi, tetapi tetap memerlukan kurasi fasilitator agar tidak menggantikan pertimbangan etik dan konteks lokal. Kegiatan ini penting sebagai model edukasi awal bagi orang tua, pendidik, dan calon pendidik untuk membangun lingkungan belajar yang aman, adaptif, dan tidak diskriminatif.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the digital era has made social media platforms like TikTok an effective tool for product marketing. However, in Rogoselo Village, Pekalongan Regency, this potential has not been optimally utilized due to three main problems: low digital literacy among students, limited access to digital marketing information, and the absence of training programs that guide the use of TikTok for productive purposes. Therefore, this community service activity was designed to improve students' understanding and skills in utilizing TikTok as a digital marketing tool to promote local potential. The training was conducted using a combination of presentation and practical methods. Presentation was used to convey theoretical material, while the practical method was used to practice creating TikTok content to promote the participants' products. The training results showed a significant increase in skills: out of 18 participants, the number who answered “Yes” increased by about 10 on average (ranging from 10 to 11 across the five evaluation items), indicating improved understanding and ability to use TikTok for digital marketing purposes. Challenges in the training, such as limited internet access, were overcome by providing portable hotspots. The conclusion of this activity confirmed that the training successfully improved participants' digital literacy and technical skills and opened up opportunities for developing a digital-based creative economy in Rogoselo Village.
