Abstract

This research focuses on the issue of students failing to achieve learning goals due to not learning at their ability level. Educators must have pedagogical competence, including the ability to develop good and creative learning tools to create an active and interesting learning atmosphere. The TaRL approach, developed in elementary schools using differentiated learning, The TaRL approach is designed in line with student achievement, abilities, and needs. Developing a differentiation-based TaRL approach will create an active learning atmosphere and provide learning opportunities according to student needs. Educators must realize that each student is unique and has different qualities from birth. Of course, we need to fulfill their educational needs as best as possible to adapt education to student's needs and skill levels, ensuring they meet the required learning outcomes. The research uses mixed methods, including research and development, validity, and practicality. Data was collected through practice angle and validity instruments, with quantitative and qualitative data used to assess the effectiveness of TaRL modules. The high validity category of product validation showed a high validation rate of 92%, with 96% media validity, 97.16% material validation, and 89.43% language validation. The study also included teachers' and students' opinions on the differentiation-based efficacy of TaRL modules.

Abstract

This research and development (R&D) study aims to develop and evaluate the validity and practicality of integrated teaching materials based on the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach with deep learning principles to enhance the mathematical understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study was conducted in response to the challenge of teachers' limited competence in designing teaching tools that are responsive to students' diverse needs and characteristics, a key requirement of Indonesia's Independent Curriculum. The ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) was employed as the systematic development framework. The subjects were students from SDN 131/IV, SDN 42/IV, and SDN 64/IV in Jambi City. Data were collected through validation sheets by experts and practicality questionnaires administered to teachers and students. The results demonstrated that the developed teaching materials achieved a very high validity level, with an average score of 97.36% across media, content, and language aspects. Furthermore, practicality tests showed consistently high scores from both teachers and students across all three schools, with averages above 89%, categorized as "Good Practicality." The findings indicate that the deep learning-based TaRL integrated teaching material is a valid, practical, and effective tool for facilitating personalized, engaging, and collaborative mathematics learning, ultimately supporting the goals of differentiated instruction within the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is one of the essential competencies that elementary school students must master to solve mathematical problems in daily life. However, arithmetic learning in elementary schools is often still procedural and less oriented toward developing higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to examine computational thinking as a learning strategy in arithmetic operations to develop numeracy literacy of fifth-grade students. The research employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 20 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through numeracy literacy tests administered before and after the implementation of computational thinking-based instruction. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ numeracy literacy after participating in arithmetic learning based on computational thinking. These findings suggest that computational thinking is an effective strategy for enhancing numeracy literacy in elementary school arithmetic learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a computational thinking–based student worksheet (LKPD) for elementary school plane geometry and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving fifth-grade students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants included fifth-grade students, classroom teachers, and expert validators in mathematics content and instructional design. Research instruments comprised expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and mathematical problem-solving tests. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques to determine validity and practicality, as well as N-gain calculations to measure product effectiveness. The results indicated that the computational thinking–based worksheet met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. The use of the worksheet significantly enhanced students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities in plane geometry. Therefore, the developed worksheet has the potential to serve as an innovative instructional material for elementary mathematics learning. Abstract

This research aims to describe the development process, validity, and reliability of contextual mathematics problems based on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) by integrating Jambi's local wisdom into multiplication material for 3rd-grade elementary school students. This study uses the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research instruments include validation sheets for material and language experts, as well as test instruments for reliability testing. The results show that the development process through five systematic stages produced 5 HOTS-based questions integrating Jambi's culture such as Candi Muaro Jambi and Batik Jambi motifs. The validity results from material and language experts reached the "Very Valid" category, indicating the content and linguistic aspects are highly appropriate. The reliability test results yielded a coefficient of 0.51, categorized as moderate reliability. This research concludes that the developed product is feasible for use as an evaluation tool in elementary schools.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in determining a nation's progress. Mathematics is a strategic subject in elementary education because it can develop students' logical, analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills. One important topic in fifth grade is the addition and subtraction of fractions. This topic often presents difficulties because learning still emphasizes mechanical procedures, resulting in students lacking a deep understanding of the concept and having difficulty solving problems reflectively. This study aims to develop a Mathematics Flipbook E-Module based on Problem Based Learning integrated with Computational Thinking to improve students' understanding of fraction concepts and reflective thinking skills. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate) model. The research stages included needs analysis, interactive content design, digital media development, and validity and practicality evaluation through limited and large-scale trials. The results showed that the developed Flipbook E-Module was valid according to material and media experts. This product was practical for use by teachers and students. The E-Module was proven to increase learning motivation, critical thinking skills, and systematic fraction problem-solving skills. The integration of interactive digital media, problem-based learning, and computational thinking supports deeper and more contextual mathematics learning in accordance with the Independent Curriculum. This product serves as both teaching materials and learning tools that encourage students to think creatively, critically, reflectively, and systematically.
