Abstract

This research aimed at describing the violations of cooperative principles and the factors that created humor of Cucuk Lampah in the wedding ceremony in Magetan regency. This was descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research were all humor discourse conducted by Cucuk Lampah. Meanwhile, the objects were the data that contained the violation of the cooperative principle. The data collection used observation method with the tapping technique, then SBLC or Free Participant Observation technique, note-taking technique, and video recording technique. It used a pragmatic identity method based on utterances by heuristic technique to analyze data. The result shows that in creating humor, Cucuk Lampahmostly violates quantity maxim. It means that Cucuk Lampah prefers less and more information or contribution to the interaction. Cucuk Lampah is free to lie, using taboo, speaking indirectly with pambiwara, and singers. Cucuk Lampah also uses language play by mentioning the unexpected in the utterances to build up taboo words. The violations of the quality maxim, relevance maxim, and manner maxim are also done in less number compare to quantity maxim violations. The nonobservance of the maxims mostly is violating a maxim, flouting a maxim, infringing a maxim, suspending a maxim, and the last is opting out of a maxim

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas keterlambatan bicara (speech delay) yang diderita oleh Rifaai Khoirul Anam, seorang anak berusia 5 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik SSR (Single Subject Research). Pemerolehan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara kepada informan. Analisis difokuskan pada bahasa lisan anak dan alasan terjadinya keterlambatan bicara (speech delay) anak usia 5 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ditemukan 1) ketepatan ucapan pada beberapa huruf vokal dan konsonan kurang jelas; 2) penempatan tekanan, nada, sendi, dan durasi sudah sesuai; 3) pilihan kata kurang bervariasi; 4) pembicaraan tepat sasaran apabila anak fokus. Selain itu, sering jatuh saat bayi merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab terjadinya speech delay dan kurangnya stimulus dari orang terdekat. Alternatif untuk menyembuhkan anak terlambat berbicara bisa dengan terapi wicara. Akibat dari keterlambatan berbicara yang dialami anak menyebabkan terjadi melambatnya perkembangan pada motorik maupun sensoriknya, selain itu mempengaruhi sulitnya berkomunikasi dengan baik yang membuat interaksinya dengan lingkungan menjadi sangat kurang, dan mempengaruhi tingkat kecerdasan anak.

Abstract

The purposes of this research is to find flexibility of Indonesian humor culture using language experience. This research is a descriptive-qualitative research. Collecting data uses listening method by using basic technique of tap and then write. Analyzing data in this research uses equalizing reference method by using comparing technique to support codification, reduction, presentation, and interpretation such as work design of qualitative research. The results of this research, those are: exploiting the common truth that people already know; changing constituents with his language experience; putting false pronouns deliberately; conveying something incomplete; diverting different languages; providing an unrelated response at all; exploiting the language gap to distort its meaning; conveying something unnatural, absurd, even impressed controversy

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan diksi serta fungsinya dalam lirik lagu Tarlingdut karya Abdul Adjib. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa frasa, kata, dan kalimat dalam lirik lagu Tarlingdut karya Abdul Adjib. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik inventarisasi, baca-simak, dan pencatatan. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model Milles dan Hubberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empat buah lagu ciptaan Abdul Adjib menggunakan diksi atau pilihan kata yang estetis dalam hal pemilihan kata. Selain itu, dalam lirik lagu Tarlingdut banyak menggunakan diksi yang diambil dari serapan bahasa (1) Jawa khas Cirebon dan (2) bahasa asing yang terdiri dari bahasa Arab, Inggris dan China, serta pemanfaatan sinonim.

Abstract

Textbook as a material for the school subject within the levels of primary and secondary education. Textbook as a school?s teaching material has a vital role in forming students? character.  This is in line with the current situation, where teaching material is needed to be investigated in terms of content, especially the content of the nationalism values.  This study aims to explain the content of the nationalism character values within a Textbook on the school subject of Indonesian Language for the primary school level.  The method used in this study is literature review and content analysis.  Literature review is done to acquire the appropriate book through the detailed and accurate searching all of the textbook.  Meanwhile, the content analysis is performed through analyzing the content of nationalism character value in the textbook for the school subject of Indonesian Language, which covers the following: (1) religiosity; (2) honesty; (3) tolerance; (4) discipline; (5) hard-work; (6) creativity; (7) self-reliance; (8) democracy; (9) curiosity;  (10) national spirits; (11) nationalism; (12) respect toward achievement; (13) friendliness/communicative value; (14) peace-loving; (15) literacy ? love of reading; (16) caring for the environment; (17) social care; and (18) responsibility.  The result of the content analysis of the Indonesian Language for the textbook for the Primary School level shows that the content for the nationalism character values in the textbook has not been fully and proportionally covered.  Besides, the content is still dominated by the aspect of knowledge and has not emphasized on the comprehension, values internationalization, and its implementation.

Abstract

This study discusses how the method of handling the type of dyslexic language acquisition inability in Taare Zameen film Par. Dyslexia is one type of learning difficulties in children, namely reading disability. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with the presentation of data from research results presented through words. The discussion presented includes (1) the characteristics of dyslexia; (2) learning solutions to the type of dyslexia; (3) solutions to the treatment of dyslexia. The results obtained in this study show that dyslexia can be treated using multisensory methods. The multisensory method utilizes visual abilities or students' visual abilities and kinesic hearing abilities at this level, namely awareness of movement and touch on students. Thus this method can assist in the implementation of learning for dyslexic children and in the future there will no longer be dyslexic children who are unable to write, read, and count. Abstract

Social criticism has a very big role in creating balanced, safe and peaceful civil society harmonious life. This study described social criticism in poem anthology by Joko Pinurbo, Surat Kopi, using a qualitative descriptive research method with hermeneutics and stylistics method. The research instruments were the researchers assisted by informants. To examine the poems, the researcher interpreted the poems that contained social criticism then they were described. The results showed that social criticism in the ten poems with the theme of the letter was very effective and elegant, with four types of diction used: denotation, connotation, concrete, and abstract diction. Joko Pinurbo's poems were able to reflect the social conditions of the community while capturing various problems around them. Denotation and concrete dictions were widely used in the ten poems. This avoided confusion to the reader because they utilized minimum figurative language. The message of poems could be captured clearly and explicitly; there were not many interpretations arose but still promised a depth of meaning.

Abstract

This research aims to describe negative politeness strategy of Indonesians in President Joko Widodo’s twitter account. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive with pragmatic approach. The data source of this research is President Joko Widodo’s twitter on September 2016 focusing on law topic. The data of this research is lingual data as speach act realization in written form. The technique of collecting data uses purposive sampling technique. The analysis model is based on two approaches, which are linguistic approach by Sudaryanto and etnography by Spradley which are domain, taxonomy, componential and cultural themes. There are six negative politeness strategies as this research finding, including indirect strategy, asking strategy, face threatening strategy, nominalization strategy, and straightforward strategy in which each is realized in directive speech act.

Abstract

The study aims to describe code variations and their functions in Islamic Forum (liqo) for women in Ciamis Regency, West Java. Source of data was utterances of murrobbi (speaker) and audiences. This research used a descriptive method. The results are as follows. First, the study found six variations of codes including Arabic, English, Sundanese, Indonesian, code-switching and code-mixing. Second, the research indicates the functions of using those codes including to introduce Arabic terms, to learn Islam through Arabic, to gain prestige, to introduce popular terms, to feel pride, to give familiarity, to show identity, to smooth communication, to maintain Sundanese bond, to unify local language, to quote other sources, to explain speech content, to reiterate the meaning of speech content, and to ease communication. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the two most frequently used codes in Islamic Forum (liqo) for women in Ciamis Regency are Arabic and Indonesian.

Abstract

This article explores how verbal violence on Facebook was performed by the users. It investigates the discursive strategy exploited by them. The data of verbal violence were taken from user comments to news update posted on Indonesian news portal fans pages under the topic of Paris tragedy. The comments were taken from four different Indonesian news fans pages, namely Detik.com, Kompas.com, Liputan6.com and Tribunnews.com. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively. Applying Discourse Historical Approach (DHA) proposed by Wodak, the result shows that the users exploits three strategies to perform verbal violence namely referential strategy, predicative strategy and argumentation strategy. Employing referential strategy, verbal violence is realized in the form of noun and noun phrase, which functions as subject, object and modifier of noun phrase. Employing predicative strategy, verbal violence is realized in the form of word, phrase and clause, which function as attribute or predicate. Employing argumentation strategy, verbal violence is realized in the form of sentence and discourse.
