Abstract

Ensuring academic quality assurance (QA) in large-scale distance learning (PJJ) presents complex challenges influenced by technological, pedagogical, and social factors. Conventional analytical methods often fail to capture the probabilistic and causal relationships among these variables due to data uncertainty. This study aims to model and analyze the probabilistic and causal interactions that determine QA success in PJJ using an integrated approach that combines Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Bayesian Network (BN). Using a quantitative explanatory survey design, data were collected via questionnaires that covered variables such as technology availability, instructor support, student interaction, learning motivation, and administrative governance. Data analysis was performed using R software with the lavaan package for structural model evaluation and the bnlearn package for probabilistic network modeling.  The regression analysis results indicate that the availability of technology, the quality of instructor-student interaction, and learning motivation are the primary determinants of QA success ($R^2$ = 0.577). SEM evaluation confirmed an excellent model fit (CFI = 0.999; TLI = 0.999; RMSEA = 0.011), with technology availability providing the largest relative contribution at 33.3%. The developed BN model effectively estimates QA success probabilities, finding that high learning motivation levels increase the likelihood of QA success to 0.70. Conversely, administrative support was not significant, and isolated administrative interventions tend to be ineffective at increasing QA probability ($P$ = 0.45). The integration of BN-SEM offers a comprehensive predictive framework that enables policymakers to conduct scenario simulations for digital education quality management.

Abstract

This study examines the reactualization of Islamic values in supporting Indonesia's national sustainable development agenda, particularly within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The background of this research departs from the observation that Indonesia, as the world's largest Muslim-majority nation, has yet to fully integrate Islamic ethical principles such as Maqasid al-Shariah, zakat, waqf, and social justice into its formal national development planning. A normative-qualitative approach based on library research was employed, utilizing primary and secondary sources analyzed through philosophical and thematic analysis. The findings reveal that Islamic values are substantially aligned with the SDGs in areas such as poverty alleviation, quality education, environmental stewardship, and social equity. The five objectives of Maqasid al-Shariah (protection of faith, life, intellect, posterity, and property) correspond directly to multiple SDG targets. Additionally, Islamic philanthropic instruments such as zakat and waqf have demonstrated measurable contributions to poverty reduction and social welfare in Indonesia. This study recommends that national planners formally integrate Islamic value frameworks into policy instruments, including through the optimization of BAZNAS, the Badan Wakaf Indonesia, and Islamic social finance ecosystems. The study contributes to the growing body of literature linking religious ethics to sustainable development planning, and argues that reactualization rather than marginalization of Islamic values represents a strategic asset for achieving Indonesia's 2030 development commitments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the agency of students is negotiated—defined as the capacity of students to navigate and exert influence within structured educational environments—in the practice of Munaqosyah Tilawah (a formal oral examination of Quranic recitation skills) at Ma'had Dhiyau'l Quran. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, purposively involving 6 students and 3 ustaz to obtain in-depth experiential data from a specialized cohort. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis by systematically coding field notes and transcripts to identify recurring patterns of student agency. The analysis focused on the dynamics of students' experiences in a public, structured evaluative forum. The results of the study indicate that the negotiation of agency takes place through four main fields: (1) an emotional threshold where students navigate nervousness and anxiety as an initial mental test; (2) relationship-based agency where performance is influenced by parental and teacher encouragement as a form of socio-religious accountability; (3) bodily limitations in tilawah (recitation) performance, especially breath regulation and tone control; and (4) self-reflexivity that raises awareness of abilities and targets for improvement. Munaqosyah not only serves as a technical evaluation of reading but also as a pedagogical space that shapes religious subjects through the interaction among emotional pressure, social relations, physical discipline, and spiritual orientation. This study contributes to Islamic education research by illustrating how evaluative practices can become sites of personal empowerment. Practically, munaqosyah should be designed supportively to foster sustainable student agency.

Abstract

This study is driven by the need for educational digitalization, requiring innovation in Islamic religious education learning as a key factor in shaping students’ religious character. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital-based Islamic religious education learning in improving students’ religious literacy. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation involving Islamic religious education teachers, students, and madrasahs. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the implementation of digital-based Islamic religious education learning is carried out through the use of learning media that are able to increase student involvement in the learning process. In addition, digital-based learning also contributes to improving students’ religious literacy, both in terms of understanding, attitudes, and religious practices. However, the implementation still faces several obstacles, such as limited infrastructure facilities and diverse levels of digital literacy among students. This study concludes that digital-based Islamic religious education learning has a significant role in improving students’ religious literacy if supported by the right learning strategies and adequate facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Islamic boarding school-based learning in improving the understanding of Islamic teachings among students (students). This qualitative research was conducted using a case study approach in one Islamic boarding school. The research sample consisted of 20 students who had participated in the Islamic boarding school-based learning program for 6 months. The results of the study indicate that Islamic boarding school-based learning is effective in improving the understanding of Islamic teachings among students. Students who participated in the Islamic boarding school-based learning program showed a significant increase in their understanding of Islamic teachings, especially in terms of understanding the principles of Islamic teachings and being able to apply Islamic teachings in their daily lives. In addition, the study also found that factors influencing the effectiveness of Islamic boarding school-based learning include the quality of the teachers, the students' motivation, and support from family and community. The conclusion of this study is that Islamic boarding school-based learning can be an effective alternative in improving the understanding of Islamic teachings among students. Therefore, the government and educational institutions need to prioritize Islamic boarding school-based learning to improve the quality of religious education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta/KBC) as a strategy for strengthening character education in Indonesia by examining its philosophical foundations, the Panca Cinta value structure, and its relevance to the deep learning approach. This study employed a qualitative library research design through the review of policy documents, scholarly articles, and relevant previous studies collected from accredited journals, Google Scholar, and other repositories. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key concepts, implementation patterns, and interpretations based on character education and humanistic learning perspectives. The findings reveal that KBC is a value-based educational model that places love as its core principle through five pillars: love for God and His Messenger, love for knowledge, love for oneself and others, love for the environment, and love for the homeland. KBC contributes to fostering spirituality, empathy, tolerance, literacy, ecological awareness, and inclusive nationalism. It is also aligned with deep learning by promoting mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning experiences. The implications suggest that KBC has strong potential to serve as a reference for character education policy through strengthening school culture, teacher capacity building, evaluation reform, and further empirical studies on its effectiveness
