Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of a series of picture media in enhancing the Javanese Serang speaking skills of first-grade students at SDIT Bina Insan. Six teachers and twenty students participated in semi-structured interviews and classroom observations over four weeks to gather data using a qualitative research approach. The effect of the media on pupils' speaking development was investigated using thematic analysis. The findings reveal notable improvements in pronunciation, vocabulary usage, and student participation during speaking activities. Additionally, students showed increased enthusiasm and engagement during Javanese language lessons. These results suggest that series picture media, with its colourful and contextually rich illustrations, is an effective pedagogical tool for promoting active language use and learner motivation. The study concludes that integrating visual-based media in early-grade language instruction can enhance language acquisition. It is recommended that educators incorporate such media to foster communicative competence and maintain learner interest in local language education.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to discover the problems that occur in the field by describing the problems or challenges teachers face in learning by applying the TaRL approach to mathematics subjects in class VI A SDN Banjar Agung 4. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The primary and secondary data explored in this study are primary and secondary. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was done through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation techniques. The results showed that several problems challenge teachers in implementing the TaRL approach, namely (1) limited teacher understanding of TaRL concepts and techniques, (2) heterogeneous classroom environment with a large number of students, namely 36 students, (3) limited time and costs and monitoring the implementation of the learning process, (4) lack of resource support such as the preparation of learning tools, and (5) limited training and socialization regarding process planning and learning evaluation using the TaRL approach. The solution that can be given is that the school or principal, as the leader in the basic education unit, needs to provide resource support in the form of providing training on the TaRL learning approach to teachers and financial support in the form of comfortable facilities, learning resources, and financial support.

Abstract

A teacher must have professionalism in carrying out his duties as an educator. However, there are still many teachers who have not shown professionalism. Because it has several problems related to teacher performance, and if you have not found a solution, it can cause prolonged problems. This study aims to describe the principal's strategy for developing teacher professionalism. The research was conducted at the Gaga Ilir State Elementary School, Kronjo District, Tangerang Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach—collecting research data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Teachers and school principals serve as the primary sources of information. Data analysis went through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions, which were carried out simultaneously with the stages. The study results indicate that teacher professionalism can develop through communication development, rewards, evaluation activities, and discussion forum activities. This finding recommends that schools can use these activities to develop teacher professionalism.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between lecturers' teaching styles and students' learning motivation in higher education. Teaching style is an external factor significantly influencing student engagement and academic achievement. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The study sample consisted of 120 Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education Study Program students at Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University, Banten, selected through proportional stratified random sampling. The instruments used included the Teaching Style Inventory and the Academic Motivation Scale, which had been tested for content validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson product-moment correlation test. The results showed a strong positive relationship between lecturers' teaching styles and students' learning motivation (r = 0.672; p 0.001). The Facilitator dimension had the highest correlation (r = 0.701), followed by Personal Model and Expert. This finding is consistent with Self-Determination Theory, which emphasizes the importance of fulfilling the needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness to increase students' intrinsic motivation. These findings recommend that lecturers optimize facilitative approaches, serve as academic role models, and provide constructive feedback. Universities are advised to facilitate ongoing pedagogical training to improve the quality of teaching styles oriented toward student empowerment.
