Abstract

This research aims to describe the position of gender studies in the curriculum of civic education study programs in universities. This research was conducted at several universities that have civic education study programs. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach and data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation, while the data analysis technique used triangulation to obtain data validity. The results of the research found three things. First, the four universities that were the objects of this research developed curricula according to the provisions of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Second, there are explicitly no courses related to gender studies in the civic education curriculum at these universities. However, several lecturers try to bring gender issues into the learning process as a study case. Third, there are many challenges in integrating gender studies into the citizenship education curriculum, one of which is the expertise of civic education lecturers who cannot teach about gender. To overcome the challenges of integrating gender studies into the civic education curriculum, it is crucial to advocate for including gender studies to ensure comprehensive coverage of gender issues. This advocacy is a call to action for all involved in civic education. As well, developing strategies to integrate gender issues into existing courses through case studies, discussions, and projects can enrich the learning process.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze inclusivity in the teaching of Civic Education (PKn) in elementary schools, with a focus on the implementation of inclusive curriculum and practices. This research uses a case study approach to understand inclusivity in the context of Citizenship Education in elementary schools. The aim of this research is to analyze inclusivity in Civics teaching in elementary schools through case studies of the implementation of inclusive curriculum and practices and understand the extent to which inclusivity is implemented in the Civics teaching curriculum and practices in elementary schools. This research is a case study research with a qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of inclusivity in Civics teaching in elementary schools. This approach will allow researchers to explore the perceptions, experiences, and practices in a more holistic context. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were principals, teachers, and students at SDN Pakel, SDN Wirosaban and SDN Giwangan. The data analysis technique uses data triangulation. The results of this research reveal variations in the implementation of Civics inclusiveness in elementary schools. Factors such as teacher understanding, available resources, and school support play an important role in achieving inclusivity. SDN Giwangan shows a strong commitment to inclusivity by providing additional support for students who need it, while SDN Pakel and SDN Wirosaban still face obstacles in creating a truly inclusive learning environment. This research provides insight into the challenges and opportunities in realizing inclusivity in citizenship education and provides a basis for further improvements in efforts to create a more inclusive learning environment for all students.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile project at SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi is examined in this study to illustrate how project-based learning and civic education can be combined to increase high school students' awareness of cultural diversity. The study examines the project's implementation and its effects on students' character development using qualitative research techniques like observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi in the January 2022/2023 school year with grade X high school students carrying out Project learning. The results demonstrate how the Pancasila Student Profile project offers a strong foundation for promoting student variety, tolerance, and respect for different values crucial for molding their character to embrace global diversity. By allowing students to apply their knowledge and abilities to actual problems, the project also fosters the ability to think critically and solve problems. The study highlights how crucial it is for teachers to get support and training to include civic education in project-based learning. Students can experience character improvement through Project learning by applying the values of the ability to work together and tolerance for other learning outcomes. Teachers may establish a supportive learning environment that supports students' character development by being given the necessary tools and resources. The study's findings have significant ramifications for practitioners and educational policymakers who want to strengthen students' character development and prepare them for the difficulties of living in a diverse and globalized environment.

Abstract

This article discusses innovations in inclusive-based learning models as an effort to shape tolerance towards diversity among learners in primary schools. In education, diversity is a necessity that requires an inclusive learning approach to create a supportive environment for all learners. This type of research is a qualitative literature study. Data collection is done by collecting references from various sources online. Furthermore, data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. This approach not only includes ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity but also considers differences in abilities, learning styles, and special needs. This research discusses the positive impact of implementing an inclusive-based learning model on developing tolerance among learners. The results show that engaging learners in inclusive learning experiences can shape open attitudes, acceptance of differences, and increased understanding of diversity. The important role of educators is to support this learning model and provide practical advice for educators to implement it in the classroom. Thus, it is hoped that innovations in inclusive-based learning models can be an important foundation in shaping tolerance towards diversity among learners in primary schools
