Abstract

Natural active-ingredient-based shampoos offer an effective and eco-friendly solution for maintaining the skin and hair health of companion animals. This study aimed to predict the toxicity of phytochemical compounds from citronella oil (Cymbopogon nardus) and neem oil (Azadirachta indica) using an in silico approach with the ProTox-II platform. The analyzed compounds included limonene, farnesene, eucalyptol, menthol, oleic acid, p-cymene, indole, (9Z)-9- octadecenamide, amylbenzene, p-cresol, camphor, and dieugenol, selected based on LC-MS/MS analysis. The evaluated toxicological parameters comprised oral acute toxicity (LD50), hepatotoxicity, immunotoxicity, genotoxicity (cytotoxicity, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity), as well as nuclear receptor signaling and stress response pathways. The results revealed that p-cymene exhibited the highest toxicity (LD50 = 3 mg/kg, class I), followed by oleic acid (LD50 = 48 mg/kg, class II), whereas amylbenzene was classified as non-toxic (LD50 = 6430 mg/kg, class VI). All compounds were predicted to be non-hepatotoxic and non-immunotoxic; however, p-cymene, indole, and amylbenzene showed potential carcinogenicity. Limonene was predicted to be active against AhR, ER, MMP, and ATAD5 receptors, while dieugenol was active against nrf2/ARE, HSE, and MMP. These predictions suggest that most compounds are safe for shampoo applications, except for p-cymene, which requires further evaluation. This study provides preliminary insights for the development of safe and effective natural-based shampoos.

Abstract

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease. Continuous use of topical NSAIDs in AD cases has been shown to cause adverse effects. Lissachatina fulica mucin (LFM) cream, a natural alternative, has been used for wound healing and can be used as a preventative or curative agent in AD. The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of LFM cream, exploring its potential as a preventative and curative measure in AD. A total of 36 male BALB/c mice were divided into three cream dosage groups: 0%, 5%, and 10%. The two treatments were preventive and curative, and the two testing times were 0 and 5 days, with three replicates each. Mice were induced with atopic dermatitis by applying 1% DNCB to a 1x1 cm area on their dorsal area for seven days. The preventive group used LFM cream for seven days before DNCB, while the curative group used it after DNCB. Blood samples were collected on days 0 and 5 of the treatment period and analyzed using a hematology analyzer. The data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA with GraphPad Prism 10, followed by Tukey's test at a 95% confidence level. The toxicity test confirmed that the LFM cream is non-toxic and safe for topical use. The DNCB compound 1% exhibited four main symptoms of atopic dermatitis: pruritus, erythema, excoriation, and lichenification. LFM cream was highly effective, significantly suppressing AD symptoms, with the ADSI score remaining below 2 (p<0.05). Specifically, the curative efficacy was demonstrated by a significant decrease in the ADSI score on day 5 (p<0.05). Hematological analysis revealed statistically significant differences (p<0.05) in the number of lymphocytes, neutrophils, and thrombocytes across groups. The LFM cream is effective and safe for preventative use and successfully treats acute AD at 5% concentration.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study investigates the impact of a digital virtual tour, integrating Google Earth and YouTube, on the history learning outcomes of vocational high school (SMK) students in Indonesia. Addressing the common challenges of low student interest and abstract historical concepts, the intervention provided an immersive, context-rich learning experience. The research involved an experimental group (n=32) using the virtual tour and a control group (n=32) with conventional instruction. Results from pretest-posttest analyses show a significantly higher improvement in the experimental group, with an N-Gain score of 0.69 (moderate effectiveness) compared to 0.22 (low effectiveness) in the control group. Simple linear regression analysis confirmed a positive and significant influence (sig. <0.001), with the model explaining 81.2% of the variance in learning outcomes. The findings demonstrate that this integrated digital media approach is an effective and innovative pedagogical tool for making history more tangible and improving student achievement in vocational education contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

The manual submission of employee complaints often leads to slow handling, disorganized documentation, and limited transparency regarding complaint progress. These issues hinder internal communication and reduce the effectiveness of administrative processes. This study aims to design and implement a Web-Based Employee Complaint Submission System using PHP and the Bootstrap framework to improve efficiency and accuracy in managing complaints. The system supports three main categories of complaints: payroll, occupational safety and health, and work facilities. It also enables employees to track complaint status through request, approved, and rejected indicators. Administrators can manage user accounts and generate official follow-up letters. Implementation results show that the system improves data recording, enhances documentation order, and increases transparency in complaint handling. Overall, the system facilitates more structured, efficient, and traceable communication between employees and management, supporting better corporate governance.

Abstract

The increasingly complex development of traffic conditions increases the risk of accidents caused by careless or reckless driver actions. Traffic crimes resulting from recklessness have different legal implications in each country, particularly regarding the elements of fault, the form of criminal liability, and the sanctions applied. This article aims to compare the criminal law regulations regarding recklessness in traffic crimes between Indonesia and several other countries, specifically to identify differences in concepts, legal application, and the effectiveness of law enforcement. The research method used is normative juridical with a comparative legal approach, through analysis. legislation, legal doctrine, and related court decisions. The results of the study show that Indonesia regulates reckless acts in traffic accidents through Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation with a focus on the element of negligence resulting in injury or death, while several other countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany apply the concept of recklessness as a low-level intention (culpable risk taking) with heavier criminal sanctions and stricter legal proof. This comparison shows the need for reconstruction of criminal law policy in Indonesia to clarify the boundaries between negligence and recklessness and increase the deterrent effect in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents and provide more optimal legal protection for the community.

Abstract

Sambak Village is a tofu industry Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) area that produces biogas under the auspices of the Sambak Sustainable Biogas Group (KBLS). This MSME is located in Kajoran District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. The Sambak Tofu Industry MSME faces several problems, including the relatively high production costs for tofu production. This condition is caused by the soybean milling process, which is the initial process of tofu production, still using a drive engine with fossil fuels/diesel which has a fairly high price, thus having an impact on reducing the profits of the Sambak tofu industry MSME. Therefore, efforts are needed to optimize the use of biogas as a driving engine energy for soybean milling, and manage the distribution of biogas used by every household user and tofu industry MSME. Seeing these problems, this activity will design a driving engine with biogas fuel equipped with a synchronizer system and equipped with vibration analysis produced.
