Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of implementing a multicultural Islamic educationapproach in enhancing literacy among teachers in community Islamic boarding schools. With thegrowing diversity in society, particularly within educational settings, it becomes imperative tofoster an inclusive educational environment that respects and integrates various culturalperspectives. The study adopts a qualitative research design and PAR (Participation ActionReasearch), employing interviews, observations, and document analysis to gather data. Theprinciple of PRA is action by, with, and for the people. Participants include teachers, andadministrators from selected community Islamic boarding schools. Findings indicate thatintegrating multicultural Islamic education principles promotes literacy development by fosteringa deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.Moreover, it enhances critical thinking skills and promotes social cohesion among students. Thestudy underscores the importance of incorporating multicultural Islamic education approaches ineducational settings to cultivate literate and culturally competent individuals capable of thrivingin diverse societies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how to shape the entrepreneurial spirit of students through the values of multicultural Islamic education. The research method uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. We use the triangulation method to check the validity of the data. This study uses qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting verification data and drawing conclusions. From the results of the study it was concluded that in forming the entrepreneurial spirit of students at the Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School, it was 1). The values of multicultural Islamic education that are instilled are four values, namely shidiq, amanah, tabligh, fathonah and five values, namely ta'aruf, tasawuth, tawazun, tasamuh, ta'awun which is called the spirit of 45. 2) The implementation process involves all pesantren elements in formal and non-formal education consisting of human elements and non-human elements in pesantren activities, learning activities, pesantren traditions, the involvement of students in running pesantren businesses and the example of kyai, ustadz/teachers. 3). The implementation model that is applied is to integrate the spirit of 45 in every activity and learning in Islamic boarding schools and the role mode of the kyai with a top down strategy to form an entrepreneurial spirit in the form of: passion: having high enthusiasm to pursue their dreams, independent being able to independently realize their dreams, opportunity creation: awareness of existence must pay attention to user or market factors, creative and innovative creative and innovative looking for opportunities and solutions in realizing their dreams.

Abstract

Salah satu bidang kesetaraan gender yang perlu diperhatikan adalah bidangpendidikan dan ketrampilan, terjadinya kesenjangan partisipasi perempuandalam pembangunan yang terjadi di pedesaan diakibatkan dari rendahnyapendidikan dan ketrampilan, maka perempuan perlu mendapat perhatianserius, agar perempuan ikut berpartisipasi dalam menopang kehidupankeluarga dan pembangunan. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini untukmeminimalisir sikap marginal perempuan, meningkatkan pengetahuan danketrampilan tentang pengolahan produk berbahan baku susu sebagai wujudtindakan aksi, menciptakan kemandirian perempuan diranah publik terutamadalam berwirausaha, meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan keluarga.Dalam aksi nyata, terdapat empat langkah yang dilakukan dalam pengabdianmasyarakat, meliputi pemetaan pengembangan wilayah kelompok sasarandengan pendekatan rapid rural appraisal dan participatory rural appraisal,focus group discution, pembinaan dan pelatihan. Hasil Pengabdian masyarakatmenunjukkan bahwa ; majlis ta’lim perempuan Bocek sebanyak 30 orangsadar akan hak dan kewajibannya sebagai perempuan memiliki peran danfungsi yang sangat komplek sebagai anggota keluarga dan warga masyarakat,memahami pentingnya berwirausaha pembuatan produk olahan berbahanbaku susu yang banyak tersedia di desa untuk menciptakan nilai tambah,memahmi pembuatan produk olahan secara mandiri maupun kelompokberupa kerupuk susu, dodol susu, dan permen susu, manajemen, dan sistempemasarannya sehingga dapat menambah pendapatan keluarga.

Abstract

Artikel ini memberikan gambaran dasar mengenai kontroversi seputar multikulturalisme dan berbagai elemennya, tanpa menggali secara spesifik, untuk menggambarkan konteks masyarakat yang memunculkan pendidikan multikultural. Untuk mempromosikan wacana, tipologi pemahaman antarbudaya dikategorikan menjadi tiga bidang, yaitu deskriptif, normatif, dan raktik. Tujuan dari pembahasan ini yaitu untuk menyajikan pendidikan multikulturalisme era kebangkitan dunia barat dan kelahiran modernitas. Hasil dari kajian diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga bidang multikulturalisme. Tipologi pemahaman antarbudaya diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga bagian, yaitu multikulturalisme deskriptif, multikulturalisme normatif, dan multikulturalisme dalam praktiknya.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are a form of education that combines formal education with religious education. Apart from being included in the religious education curriculum, extra activities are also provided, this can be done because students live or live in a dormitory in the same area. With busy activities, students often experience boredom, which students at the Darut Taqwa Dlanggu Mojokerto Islamic Boarding School also experience. The result of the boredom experienced is a decrease in students' learning motivation; some students even choose to run away from the boarding school. Apart from the problem of decreasing motivation to learn, another problem faced is the lack of extensive exploration by students regarding career planning after completing their education at the boarding school. After graduating, some of them continued their studies, with their chosen majors being religion and education, while others chose to work and get married. This service activity aims to increase learning motivation and provide career planning to Darut Taqwa Islamic Boarding School students; the activity is carried out in the form of mentoring, where students are given an understanding of motivation and career planning. A follow-up step to this activity was a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) as a forum for sharing and discussion to help resolve problems related to students' career paths. This is intended to help map goals and get to know the various career options and college majors that can be taken after graduating from Islamic boarding school

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of entrepreneurial spirit in the development of multicultural Islamic education at Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School in Malang. Using a qualitative approach with the ethnographic case study method. The research questions are: i) what entrepreneurial spirit is used as capital in developing multicultural Islamic education at Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School in Malang? and ii) how does the entrepreneurial spirit contribute to the development of multicultural Islamic education at Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School in Malang? data and data sources were obtained through interviews, observations, and documents. This study found that the spirit of entrepreneurship plays an important role in developing multicultural Islamic education in pesantren. Capital in entrepreneurship is not always synonymous with tangible things such as money and gold. The contribution of the entrepreneurial spirit is very real and significant because it helps create an inclusive and conducive learning environment and encourages the growth of creativity and innovation among students. In addition, social entrepreneurship in the pesantren environment can also grow and develop synergistically to improve people's lives.

Abstract

The Kapuas Hulu Regency is home to a diverse array of ethnicities and cultures, requiring a leadership approach that can strengthen national values and interfaith tolerance. This study aims to examine leadership strategies for nurturing national insight in Kapuas Hulu, from the perspective of multicultural Islamic Religious Education. This research uses a qualitative method, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation, and data analysis is conducted through data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusions.  The research findings indicate that leaders in Kapuas Hulu implement an inclusive approach in Islamic religious education, which not only emphasizes religious values but also encourages respect for cultural and ethnic differences. The leadership strategies applied in Kapuas Hulu include: a) Education and Socialization of Pancasila Values, b) Maintaining Diversity and Tolerance Among Ethnic Groups, Religions, and Races, and c) Strengthening National Identity through Culture and Traditions.   These strategies reflect the efforts of leaders in Kapuas Hulu to nurture a sense of nationalism amid diversity in a pluralistic society. Additionally, leadership strategies should be directed toward the education sector as an effort to cultivate national values among the younger generation, such as: a) Raising Multicultural Awareness Among Students, b) Integrating Character Education into the Curriculum, andc) Creating a Tolerant and Inclusive Educational Environment. These strategies are being applied in the educational sector in Kapuas Hulu. However, leaders in Kapuas Hulu face challenges in practicing these strategies in everyday life, such as the high level of diversity and stereotypes.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran keberagaman, mengurangi prasangka antar kelompok, serta memperkuat harmoni sosial. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif, program ini menitikberatkan pada integrasi nilai-nilai multikultural dalam pendidikan Islam, penguatan dialog lintas agama, serta peningkatan kapasitas pendidik dalam membangun lingkungan belajar yang inklusif. Implementasi di Desa Sungai Paduan mencakup pelatihan guru, pengembangan kurikulum berbasis multikulturalisme, serta kegiatan sosial lintas agama dan budaya. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendidikan Islam multikultural mampu meningkatkan kesadaran keberagaman, mengurangi prasangka antar kelompok, serta memperkuat harmoni sosial. Namun, tantangan berupa keterbatasan sumber daya dan resistensi budaya masih ditemukan. Oleh karena itu, sinergi antara pemerintah, lembaga pendidikan, dan masyarakat menjadi kunci keberhasilan dalam membangun desa yang inklusif dan toleran.

Abstract

Kalimantan Barat adalah salah satu provinsi yang ada di Indonesia dengan keberadaan multiagama dan multietnis yang menunjukkan kekayaan yang tidak dimiliki provinsi lainnya. Potensi ancaman tetap selalu ada untuk menimbulkan terjadinya konflik. Oleh karena itu para intelektual diantaranya pendidikan dan pelajar termasuk mahasiswa dipersiapkan agar menjadi bagian yang mampu menjaga perdamaian dan menjadi garda terdepan untuk menyebarkan nilai-nilai universal. Tujuan Pengabdian ini adalah menumbuhkan sikap moderasi beragama untuk memperkuat kerukunan dalam masyarakat multikultural. Prngabdi menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang mana PAR merupakan pendekatan yang menghasilkan tindakan kegiatan berdasarkan hasil dari apa yang sudah diteliti. Peserta yang hadir dalam kegiatan ini adalah mahasiswa dari Stakatn, IAIN Pontianak, UPGRI Pontianak, dosen, dan BEM UKM. Adapun kesimpulan materi bahwa dalam moderasi beragama perlu menguatkan sikap respect dan prasangka. Kearifan lokal masyarakat Kalimantan Barat menunjukan bahwa sikap saling menghargai menjadi jalan bagi terwujudnya harmonis sosial, keadilan, kejujuran, dan kasih sayang merupakan nilai nilai kemanusiaan yang universal.

Abstract

Regeneration of leadership that is less structured in some boarding schools is a challenge in maintaining the quality of the institution. One of the main factors contributing to this problem is the weak regeneration system. This study aims to analyze the application of transformative leadership in the regeneration system in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor and its impact on the development of multicultural Islamic education. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to data collection techniques through the study of literature and analysis of regeneration systems and educational innovation in Gontor. The results showed that transformative leadership in Gontor was able to integrate Islamic values with a modern multicultural-based approach. The regeneration Model applied includes value and character education, habituation, santri organization system, and sustainable leadership training. This transformative leadership contributes to the development of Islamic education that is innovative, inclusive, and relevant to global demands. The implications of this study indicate that the success of the regeneration system in Gontor plays a role in maintaining the existence of the institution for almost a century and producing alumni who take part in various fields, including politics, education, and social. The study provides an academic contribution in understanding the role of transformative leadership in Islamic education as well as offering recommendations for other Islamic educational institutions in adapting the model of regeneration as a strategy to ensure continuity of leadership and maintain the relevance of education in the modern era.
