Abstract

This research aimed to enhance the communication skills of studentpreneurs in the WEBS unit at Universitas Airlangga. Through a community engagement activity aligned with SDGs 4 and 8, a training program focused on public speaking skills was conducted. The two-day training in May 2023 resulted in notable improvements in participants' knowledge and skills. They displayed increased confidence, effective body language, eye contact, and improved delivery, all crucial for their entrepreneurial pursuits. The training received positive feedback, with high engagement and enthusiasm from participants and speakers. Pre- and post-test assessments revealed enhanced understanding of communication elements, cultural factors, and psychological aspects related to public speaking. Participants also demonstrated growth in public speaking abilities, showcasing greater boldness, facial expressions, vocal modulation, and originality in presenting ideas. The findings underscore the significance of practical application and continuous development of communication skills. This study offers valuable insights to researchers and professionals, providing an effective approach for enhancing communication competencies among studentpreneurs. Highlight: Community engagement activity targeting studentpreneurs within the WEBS unit at Universitas Airlangga, addressing communication weaknesses. Training program on public speaking resulting in increased knowledge, skills, confidence, and improved communication techniques. Positive outcomes demonstrated through high participant engagement, knowledge enhancement, and noticeable improvements in public speaking abilities. Abstract

This research is conducted with the background to achieve the author's objective, which is to study and describe the influence of work stress, work communication, and work discipline on employee performance at PT Ferdinand Mandiri. The results obtained by the researcher on the influence of work stress, work communication, and work discipline on employee performance in the company are not yet optimal. Therefore, research is carried out using scientific methods. The sample of this research uses the Slovin formula, thus obtaining 30 employees of PT Ferdinand Mandiri. The first process is done by measuring the sample data responses using validity tests and reliability tests. Subsequently, the test results are measured with classic assumption tests (normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test) and hypothesis tests using partial t-tests, simultaneous F tests, and multiple linear regression tests. The results of this study show that, partially, work communication and work discipline significantly influence the performance of employees at PT Ferdinand Mandiri. Meanwhile, work stress does not significantly affect the performance of employees at PT Ferdinand Mandiri. Simultaneously, work stress, work communication, and work discipline have a positive and significant simultaneous effect on the performance of employees at PT Ferdinand Mandiri.

Abstract

Batik Tin Gundih Surabaya merupakan batik tulis yang diproduksi oleh sekelompok warga Jalan Sumbermulyo RW 04, Gundih, Kecamatan Bubutan, Kota Surabaya. Nama "Tin" diambil dari tanaman Tin (Ficus Carica) yang dibudidayakan oleh penduduk setempat. Sebagai pebisnis pemula, usaha ini memiliki beberapa kendala dalam operasional bisnisnya, seperti keterbatasan mengenai pengetahuan, teknik, dan perkembangan motif dari Batik Tin dimana motif terkesan monoton dan kusam serta warna yang kurang variatif, Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdian masyarakat dari Departemen Manajemen Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Airlangga mengusulkan solusi dengan mengadakan pelatihan inovasi motif batik pada di minggu ke tiga bulan Agustus tahun 2022. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan praktik. Peserta pelatihan berjumlah 31 orang, tidak terbatas warga yang sudah memiliki keterampilan membatik tetapi juga warga yang memiliki keinginan untuk belajar membatik.  Hasil dari pelatihan inovasi motif batik adalah kesungguhan dalam belajar yang ditunjukkan dengan semangat dan berkomitmen mengikuti seluruh rangkaian acara. Selain itu juga terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra tentang motif batik. Saran yang diberikan adalah perlunya keberlanjutan pendampingan dalam berbagai bentuk, contohnya pendampingan perlindungan hak kekayaan intelektual dari motif batik Tin agar produk Batik Tin Gundih Surabaya dapat dikenal luas oleh masyarakat

Abstract

Budaya di Kota Malang berpengaruh terhadap kesenian tradisonal yang ada. Salah satunya yang terkenal adalah wayang Topeng Malangan. Topeng digunakan sebagai media yang mendukung fleksibilitas penari. Dikarenakan pada saat itu sulit merias wajah sehingga lebih mudah ketika sang penari mengenakan topeng pada wajahnya. Kenyataannya kini seni topeng Malangan semakin tenggelam oleh kesenian modern yang lebih banyak diminati generasi penerus. Ketika pandemi covid melanda, mereka kehilangan penghasilan karena larangan berkumpul dan tidak ada pertunjukan. Berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara dengan ketua komunitas Murtitomo (Bp. Achmad Sholeh), didapatkan data bahwa komunitas ini memproduksi topeng secara mandiri, manual dan dijual melalui medsos. Selama pandemic, hampir tidak ada pembelian topeng dan ini memperparah keadaan. Secara spesifik tim PKM merumuskan permasalahan yaitu: 1. Komunitas Murtitomo memerlukan cara terbaik untuk pelestarian budaya Topeng Malangan pada para generasi muda, 2. Terbatasnya peralatan untuk menghasilkan topeng dengan cepat dan berkualitas, 3. Kurang optimalnya pemasaran online. Untuk menunjang peningkatan ekonomi kreatif, komunitas Murtitomo bersepakat dengan tim PKM untuk merencanakan beberapa solusi yaitu : 1. Dialog budaya untuk memahami pentingnya literasi sebagai upaya pelestarian budaya Topeng Malangan yang dipandu oleh Budayawan, 2. Pengadaan peralatan pendukung percepatan dan peningkatan kualitas produk kerajinan topeng 3. Pelatihan optimalisasi Go Digitalisasi Promosi. Target pelaksaan program PKM ini adalah transfer of knowledge dan transfer of skill dari tim PKM sehingga diharapkan tingkat partisipasi aktif (70%) dan terjadi peningkatan ekonomi. Selanjutnya luaran dari program ini adalah jurnal ilmiah nasional berISSN, media cetak elektronik serta peningkatan IPTEK dengan optimalisasi Go Digitalisasi Promosi, video, modul literasi serta haki. Dalam pelaksanaan program, mitra bersedia menyediakan tempat, pengurus terlibat aktif pada dialog budaya dan pelatihan pemasaran online. Prosedur evaluasi meliputi: 1. Ada modul literasi, 2. Abstract

Nurse’s job satisfaction ia an important factor that must be strived by the management of hospital because the impact of job satisfaction is not only on the nurse itself bu also have an impact on the patient and hospital’s image also. This is a descriptive quantitative research with cross sectional approach. This study was conducted involving 74 non-civil nurses who worked in surgery inpatient care of “X” public hospital in East Java, Indonesia. The result show that career development affect nurses’s job satisfaction through organizational commitment as mediating variables. Abstract

Social Return on Investment (SROI) is a technique to measure the impact/benefit of a project or program. This study aims to analyze the impact of social investment from the implementation of the program, Entrepreneurship Workshop "Glinds Act - Global Minds, Local Impact: Transforming Education & Entrepreneurs". In this research, the type of data used is primary data. The analysis procedure used is the SROI analysis method using a stakeholder-focused approach, viewed from three aspects: economic, social, and environmental. The results showed that every Rp1 (one rupiah) invested in the Entrepreneurship Workshop "Glinds Act - Global Minds, Local Impact: Transforming Education & Entrepreneurs" will generate a social return of Rp. 38, 52 (thirty - eight point fifty - two rupiah). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional, budaya organisasi, dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Sociolla Lombok Epicentrum Mall Mataram.  Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksplanatif, yang bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara dua variabel atau lebih. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari seluruh karyawan Sociolla Lombok Epicentrum Mall, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 33 orang. Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah Regresi Linier Berganda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki pengaruh positif, namun tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (H1 tidak terbukti),  budaya organisasi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (H2 terbukti), dan Organization Citizenship Behavior memiliki pengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (H3 tidak terbukti). Peran pemimpin memiliki komitmen agar mampu menganalisis terkait keseimbangan beban kerja karyawannya, dan manajemen perusahaan memiliki strategi khusus dalam meningkatkan kesadaran tentang upaya ekstra dan perilaku inovatif dari karyawan dalam bekerja

Abstract

The presence of minimarkets that are getting closer to residents in housing and the presence of technology has changed the behavior of retail store consumers from shopping at grocery stores that tend to be managed conventionally to modern stores. Based on this phenomenon, this collaboration activity between FEB UNAIR and BULOG for East Java Region was carried out. The Retail Management Training was held in November with a target audience of 35 grocery store owners in Tegalsari District. The training was carried out by lecture method, and question and answer. The positive response from participants is good news for the implementation of SUIC and is expected to be sustainable. It is realized that this activity is still far from perfect in equipping grocery store’s owners, therefore, in order to be sustainable, it is hoped that there will be further activities so that grocery stores in Tegalsari District can attract buyers and be competitive.

Abstract

This study aims to find out more about the effects of the implementation of work flexibility on loyalty and job satisfaction, with work-life balance as mediation among female motorcycle taxi drivers especially in Surabaya, Indonesia. This study is a cross sectional quantitative study with the data collection technique using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire administered to 127 female XYZ’s motorcycle taxi drivers. This study used the path analysis as the data analysis technique to test the research hypothesis. The results showed that work flexibility has significant direct effects on loyalty, job satisfaction and work-life balance among women as motorcycle taxi drivers. The work-life balance did not mediate the effect of work flexibility on the loyalty and job satisfaction among women as motorcycle taxi drivers.

Abstract

Purpose In 2022, Indonesia's Human Development Index (HDI) increased by 0.86 percent when compared to 2020, at which time all countries in the world were depressed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Efforts to increase HDI can be done by continuing improve the ability of the younger generation as agents of change who are believed to be the spearhead of the success of human development. The Postgraduate Study Program of UNAIR participates in improving the communication skills of the young generation through community service activities entitled public speaking training for students. This activity aims to improve students' ability to communicate. Design/methodology/approach – This activity was carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method by building closeness and active involvement of participants. Findings – The results of this training showed an increase in students' communication skills. Students become more aware of the meaning of communication, and they are also more courageous and not nervous to communicate face-to-face with others after attending public speaking training. Originality/value – This activity can have a significant impact for students directly, and the communication skills and self-confidence of students increase. Students will be able to manage their nervousness, especially when they have to face the audience, besides that students will be able to convey their opinions effectively both in internal and external campus forums. Another implication of this activity is the increase in HDI.
