Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of reality counseling with bibliotherapy techniques on increasing student motivation at MTsN 2 Payakumbuh. This type of research is quantitative research using experimental methods. The design used in this study is a pre-experimental design with the type of one group pre-test and post-test design by measuring students' learning motivation using the same instrument in the pre-test and post-test measurements. The population in this study was class VII students, while the sample in this study were 12 students who had low learning motivation. The instrument used is the Likert model of learning motivation scale instrument. The technique used is random sampling. The results showed that there was a significant effect of reality counseling on bibliotherapy techniques on increasing student motivation at MTsN 2 Payakumbuh. The researcher recommends that counselors and Guidance and Counseling teachers be able to apply reality counseling with bibliotherapy techniques to student learning motivation.

Abstract

Pemaafan memainkan peranan penting dalam kesehatan mental dan hubungan sosial. Namun, instrumen pemaafan khusus remaja etnis Minangkabau yang mempertimbangkan nilai-nilai budaya Minangkabau sulit ditemukan. Penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan satu skala pemaafan bagi remaja etnis Minangkabau dengan mensurvey aspek kognitif, afektif, dan perilaku dari pemaafan. Skala ini diadaptasi dan dimodifikasi dari Enright Forgiveness Inventory (EFI) oleh Robert D Enright. Partisipan penelitian sebanyak 152 remaja etnis Minangkabau. Prosedur pengembangan dilakukan melalui evaluasi validitas konstuk di dengan exploratory factor analysis (EFA) dan confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Evaluasi reliabilitas instrument menggunakan tes tunggal dengan Split-Half Method dengan nilai Spearman Brown-Split-Half Coefficient sebesar 0,815. Hasil analisis validitas didapatkan 57 item dari 150 item yang mewakili kontruk pemaafan, yaitu pemaafan kognisi, afeksi, dan perilaku. Dengan demikian skala pemaafan bagi Remaja Etnis Minangkabau tergolong instrumen valid dan andal yang berguna dalam need assessment dan penelitian.

Abstract

The earthquake in West Pasaman occurred very strongly and was accompanied by other disasters such as landslides and floods (galodo). Natural disasters are one of the causes of anxiety and other negative emotions in victims, they can even cause trauma which greatly affects the psychology of victims, especially children. The purpose of this service activity is for the psychological recovery of post-earthquake children by using art therapy by drawing, coloring, playing, and singing to children who are in the Jurong Timbo Abu Ateh evacuation post, Talamau District, West Pasaman Regency. The children looked happy, and there was a decrease in their anxiety levels.

Abstract

Standar Nasional Pendididikan (SNP) has set minimum criteria of Educational system in Indonesia. It has functions as the foundation for planning, actualizing and controlling in education in Indonesia, including for Islamic higher education, in the efforts of achieving qualified education. Islamic higher educational institutions (PTAI) need to formulate and develop SNP in accordance with the characteristics of vision, mission, standard competemcy of the graduates, particular features of the majors developed in PTAI. SNP-based educational institution management is an important element to arrive at educational goals. Abstract

This study focuses on the strengthening research culture through research-based learning in universities. This is a library research whose data source from reference books, scientific journals, proceedings, magazines, legislation and similar research results accessed through libraries and open journal systems. The data collection is conducted by compiling data in accordance with sub-problems which are then systematically organized. Data analysis is done by content analysis techniques to obtain theories or concepts and research results that are able to answer research problems. The results of this study indicate; 1) research is an important approach to improving the quality of learning, 2) to strengthen the culture of research at least there are four integrated focuses; (a) learning the latest research in lectures, (b) teaching research techniques or methods in each lecture taught by lecturers, (c) learning involving students to conduct research, and (d) discussion, debate or brainstorming to criticize research. 3) the benefits of PBR for students are; (a) students become usual in doing thesis because they are familiar with how to research, (b) trained to think, analyze, express and defend ideas, (c) trained to work in a planned manner, (d) trained to work hard, and (e) trained work in teams, connect with other people and collaborate.

Abstract

The aim of this quantitative descriptive study is to describe the needs of primary school teachers in providing counseling services as the implementation Permenpan Number 16 of 2009, Permendiknas Number 35 of 2010 and POP BK SD. The population was primary school teachers throughout West Sumatera, totaling 129 people and were determined as the research sample. The data were collected by using questionnaire which assessed the obstacles faced by the teacher in the implementation of Guidance and Counseling, and the needs to overcome these obstacles. Scale measurement used the Guttman scale and distributed by using Google Form application. The research findings show that: 1) 96.9% of respondents had understood their responsibility to provide counseling services, 2) 86.8% had implemented counseling services. 3) The obstacles experienced in providing counseling services: a) lack of knowledge (61.2%). b) lack of skills in developing instruments (47.3%). c) lack of skills in processing instrument results (46.5%). d) lack of skills in implementing counseling services (48.1%) and e) lack of supporting infrastructure (66.7%). 4) The need to overcome the obstacles: a) increasing knowledge (71.3%), b) training in preparing need assessment instruments (58.1%), c) training in preparing counseling programs (58.9%) and d) skills training for providing counseling services (64.3%). It is expected that the findings of this study can be followed up by subsequent research so that the obstacles experienced by class teachers can be overcome and counseling services in primary schools can run optimally.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan proses penanaman kebiasaan baik untuk mampu memilah hal yang positif dan negatif, yang akan berdampak pada masa depan anak. Ada beberapa karakter dasar yang perlu dibangun untuk anak-anak antara lain: kerja sama, kejujuran, disiplin, tanggung jawab, percaya diri, dan toleransi terhadap sesama/peduli sesama. Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, semakin krisisnya nilai karakter anak, sehingga perlunya usaha guru untuk mampu menanamkan nilai karakter anak sejak dini agar menjadi suatu pembiasaan. Sehingga tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan pendampingan terhadap guru TK/PAUD dan SD dalam pembinaan karakter melalui layanan bimbingan dan konseling. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini guru diberikan materi tentang urgensi permasalahan karakter dan hal yang harus dilakukan guru untuk mampu membentuk karakter siswa TK/PAUD dan SD, selanjutnya guru-guru diberi pelatihan dalam melaksanakan konseling individual, bimbingan dan konseling kelompok, dan layanan klasikal. Kegiatan ini sangat penting diberikan kepada guru TK/PAUD dan SD sebagai guru awal yang akan membantu membentuk karakter siswa sedini mungkin, sehingga melalui kegiatan ini guru mampu memberikan pelayanan dan pembinaan kepada siswa mulai dari dini.

Abstract

Starting with online learning requires a lot of attention such as focus, comfortable sitting, and avoiding distractions such as noise. A noise questionnaire instrument is an evaluation tool designed to identify the experience of students in the online learning process. This instrument was developed based on a literature review on noise and online learning. The instrument first stage was given to 110 students and the instrument second stage was given to 460 students in seven universities in Indonesia, 99 male and 361 female respondents aged 18-30 years. The instrument was designed based on DeVito’s noise theory: physical noise, physiological noise, psychological noise, and semantic noise. The statistical test of the instrument used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to find the goodness of fit index model. The results of the noise instrument factor analysis show a fit model, acceptable validity, and high internal consistency (α=0.86). The findings of this study produce valid and reliable instruments for identifying noise indicators that are dominant in online learning activities. The results of identifying noise in online learning can be used to design guidance and counseling programs or plan actions to deal with noise in online learning according to the data obtained.

Abstract

Kepercayaan diri dan kecerdasan emosi merupakan dua soft skill yang sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung proses kehidupan berjalan dengan baik. Ketidakpercayaan diri akan selalu memunculkan sikap pesimis dan kecerdasan emosi yang rendah akan memperlihatkan sikap dan tindakan yang merugikan diri sendiri dan orang lain.  Tujuan penelitian ini mengidentifikasi kepercayaan diri dan kecerdasan emosi siswa SMA. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasional. Hasil temuan penelitian ditemukan bahwa kepercayaan diri dan kecerdasan emosi siswa SMA rata-rata berada pada kategori rendah. Kemudian analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa antara kepercayaan diri dengan kecerdasan emosi terdapat hubungan korelasional yang sangat kuat dengan arah positif.
