Abstract

Kacapiring plant (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) from the Rubiaceae is one of plants of the Gardenia genus that can be used for treatment. Empirically, peoples of Baruh Bahinu Dalam Balangan village use Kacapiring leaves (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) to reduce high blood sugar levels by drinking boiled water.  Kacapiring leaves (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) contain flavonoid. The presence of flavonoids may indicate that Kacapiring leaf extract (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) has potential as antioxidant because it has a conjugated aromatic group (benzene) which is able to donate one hydrogen atom to free radicals that can cause adverse effect on the body. This is what underlies the research on total flavonoid content and antioxidant activity of Kacapiring leaf extract (Gardenia jasminoides ellis. The purpose of this study was to determine total flavonoid content dan antioxidant  activity of Kacapiring Leaf Extract (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis). This study used quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spechtrophotometry. Result of the measurement of the flavonoid content of the extract was 5,984 mg QE/g extract and the antioxidant activity test showed that Kacapiring leaf extract (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) had very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 8,48 ppm. The conclusion is the total flavonoid content of Kacapiring Leaf extract (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) is 5,984 mg QE/g extract  and has very strong antioxidant activity. ABSTRAKTanaman Kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) dari suku Rubiaceae adalah salah satu tanaman genus Gardenia yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan. Secara empiris, masyarakat desa Baruh Bahinu Dalam, Balangan menggunakan daun Kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah yang tinggi dengan meminum air rebusannya. Daun kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) mengandung flavonoid. Adanya kandungan flavonoid dapat mengindikasikan bahwa ekstrak daun kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) berpotensi sebagai antioksidan karena memiliki gugus aromatis terkonjugasi (benzen) yang mampu mendonorkan satu atom hidrogen pada radikal bebas yang dapat menyebabkan efek buruk pada tubuh. Hal tersebut yang mendasari dilakukannya penelitian tentang kadar flavonoid total dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daun Kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar flavonoid total dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daun Kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis). Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian pada pengukuran kadar flavonoid total ekstrak sebesar 5,984 mg QE/g ekstrak dan pada pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan ekstrak daun Kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50 8,48 ppm. Simpulannya yaitu Kadar flavonoid total ekstrak daun Kacapiring (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) sebesar 5,984 mg QE/g ekstrak dan mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan sangat kuat.

Abstract

Diarrhea is a disease that contributes to the highest death rate in Indonesia. The number of diarrhea cases recorded in Indonesia in 2021 was 7.3 million cases. The most common cause of diarrhea is Escherichia coli bacteria. Based on previous studies, one of the traditional medicines that can treat diarrhea is sambung nyawa leaf (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr.) which have various secondary metabolite compounds that can kill bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of sambung nyawa leaf against Escherichia coli ATTC 25922. The method used for extracting sambung nyawa leaf was using ultrasonic methods. Antibacterial activity testing used the well-diffusion method and the determination of the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and the determination of the Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) by the dilution method. Test results data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis Test. The results of this research show that sambung nyawa leaf have antibacterial activity through well-diffusion testing with an average inhibition zone at a concentration of 100% of 18.215 mm, a concentration of 75% of 16.02 mm, a concentration of 50% of 14.445 mm, a concentration of 25% of 13.33 mmm. In the MIC test, the minimum inhibition ability was obtained at a concentration of 50%. The results of the Kruskall-Wallis test in the three tests showed that there were significant differences in each treatment group. The conclusion of this research is that sambung nyawa leaf have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATTC 25922 with a MIC value at a concentration of 50%, but no MBC has been found against Escherichia coli ATTC 25922.   ABSTRAK Diare menjadi penyakit yang menyumbangkan angka kematian tertinggi di indonesia. Jumlah kasus diare yang tercatat di Indonesia pada tahun 2021 sebanyak 7,3 juta kasus. Bakteri penyebab diare terbanyak adalah bakteri Escherichia coli. Salah satu obat tradisional yang dapat mengobati diare adalah daun sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr.) yang memiliki berbagai senyawa metabolit sekunder yang bisa membunuh bakteri berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri daun sambung nyawa terhadap Escherichia coli ATTC 25922. Metode yang digunakan untuk ekstraksi daun sambung nyawa  menggunakan metode utrasonik. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi sumuran dan penentuan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dan penentuan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimun (KBM) dengan metode dilusi. Data hasil uji dianalsisis menggunakan Kruskal-Wallis Test. Hasil dari penelitian daun sambung nyawa memiliki aktivitas antibakteri melalui pengujian difusi sumuran dengan rata-rata zona hambat pada konsentrasi 100% sebesar 18,215 mm, konsentrasi 75% sebesar 16,02 mm, konsentrasi 50% sebesar 14,445 mm, konsentrasi 25% sebesar 13,33 mm. Pada uji KHM didapatkan kemampuan daya hambat minimum pada konsentrasi 50%. Hasil uji Kruskall-Wallis pada ketiga uji meunjukkan terdapat perbedaan nyata pada masing-masing kelompok perlakuan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini daun sambung nyawa memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli ATTC 25922 dengan nilai KHM pada konsentrasi 50%, namun belum ditemukan KBM terhadap Escherichia coli ATTC 25922.

Abstract

Kirinyuh leave (Chromolaena odorata) was used by the community as a potential plant because it contains many benefits, one of which contains alkaloid compounds. Alkaloids have the ability to help wound healing because the active compounds of the alkaloids have antioxidant activity, so the enhanced wound healing by kirinyuh leaf can be caused by the action of free radicals in increasing levels of antioxidant enzymes. The aim of the study was to determine the total alkaloid content of kirinyuh leaf  leaf extract in each of the extraction methods to be used. In this study, a different extraction method will be used, namely maceration and ultrasonic with ethanol solvent which will be carried out using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. The results of measuring the total alkaloid content in each method were the maceration and ultrasonic method consecutive at 8.259% and 5.938%. The conclusion from the research is that the alkaloid content is higher with the maceration method than with the ultrasonic method.   ABSTRAK Daun kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai tanaman yang potensial karena memiliki kandungan yang banyak memberikan manfaat salah satunya mengandung senyawa alkaloid. Alkaloid memiliki kemampuan dalam membantu penyembuhan luka. Senyawa aktif alkaloid memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh metode ekstraksi terhadap kadar alkaloid total ekstrak daun kirinyuh. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekstraksi yang berbeda yakni maserasi dan ultrasonik dengan pelarut etanol 96%, kemudian dilakukan analisis kuantitatif alkaloid dengan menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil dari analisis kuantitatif alkaloid total pada metode maserasi dan metode ultrasonik berturut-turut adalah sebesar 8,259% dan 5,938%. Simpulan dari penelitian diketahui bahwa kadar alkaloid lebih tinggi dengan metode maserasi dibandingkan metode ultrasonik.

Abstract

Diarrhea conditions where the frequency and consistency of defecation increase are related to a person's intention to engage in behavior which is influenced by a person's attitudes and perceptions of subjective norms related to behavior. The aim of the research is to identify the relationship between community behavior and the theory of planned behavior on diarrhea treatment patterns in the Sungai Lulut area RT 4,5,6. Analytical descriptive quantitative observational research method with a Cross Sectional approach. The results show that attitudes, subjective norms and behavioral control towards diarrhea treatment patterns tend to be positive by 61%, 63% and 57%. Variable analysis between attitudes and diarrhea treatment patterns has a p-value of 0.037, while subjective norms have no relationship with a p-value of 0.662 and behavioral control has no relationship with diarrhea treatment patterns with a p-value of 0.246. Conclusion, there is a relationship between attitudes, but there is no relationship between subjective norms and behavioral control on diarrhea treatment patterns with a significant value of >0.05.

Abstract

Tanaman obat yang banyak digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional dan modern. Berdasarkan penelitian, Jahe mengandung senyawa seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik, triterpenoid, gingerol dan saponin yang berperan sebagai analgesik, antioksidan, antiinflamasi, dan antitumor. Dari segi farmakologi, jahe memiliki efek karminatif, stimulan pencernaan, vasodilator, ekspektoran, antibakteri, antipiretik antibakteri, antiinflamasi, analgesic, dan antioksidan. Toksikologi menunjukkan jahe umumnya aman, tetapi konsumsi berlebih bisa menyebabkan nyeri ulu hati dan iritasi lambung, serta reaksi alergi jika terhirup. Studi pada hewan dan manusia mengindikasikan jahe tidak meningkatkan risiko malformasi pada bayi selama kehamilan. Penelitian ini menegaskan manfaat kesehatan jahe dan pentingnya konsumsi dalam dosis tepat untuk menghindari toksisitas.

Abstract

Daun jeruju (Acanthus ilicifolius L) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang banyak diteliti karena kandungan senyawa metabolitnya yang bermanfaat untuk kesehatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ekstrak daun jeruju mengandung berbagai senyawa metabolit seperti triterpenoid, saponin, alkaloid, fenolik, flavonoid, dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengadukan pada maserasi terhadap kadar flavonoid total ekstrak etanol daun jeruju. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga jenis maserasi yaitu maserasi normal, maserasi dengan pengadukan pada jam ke 0-6, dan maserasi dengan pengadukan pada jam 18-24. Pengadukan dengan magnetic stirrer kecepatan 500 rpm. Hasil dari pengujian didapatkan kadar flavonoid total ekstrak etanol daun jeruju yaitu 7.14 ± 0.21 mg QE/g untuk maserasi normal, 5.64 ± 0.17 mg QE/g untuk maserasi pengadukan jam ke 0-6, dan 5.94 ± 0.29 mg QE/g untuk maserasi pengadukan jam ke 18-24. Simpulan dari penelitian ini metode maserasi normal memiliki kadar flavonoid total yang lebih tinggi dari metode maserasi termodifikasi pengadukan.

Abstract

Insomnia is a common health problem that interferes with quality of life. This study examines the potential of a combination of herbal ingredients in overcoming insomnia, including Valerianae Radix, Myristicae Semen, Eleuthroginseng Radix, and Polygalae Radix. Each ingredient has active components that contribute to its pharmacological effects. The results of the study show that this combination can be an effective and safe alternative to the treatment of insomnia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential for the development of indigenous Indonesian medicines based on traditional medicinal plants. Herbal medicine has been used for generations in Indonesia and has great potential to be developed into more standardized and modern products. This study covers various aspects ranging from product name, content, class, composition, efficacy claims, empirical data, standardization of raw materials, preclinical tests, toxicity tests, to clinical trials. The results of the study show that with proper processing and standardization, Indonesian traditional medicine can compete with modern pharmaceutical products.

Abstract

Background: Betel leaf (Piper betle L.) is a plant that contains many important secondary metabolite compounds, one of which is the flavonoid group. empirically in the community, especially in South Kalimantan, who use these leaves as a mixture of cold powder using young betel leaves as protection against sunlight.Objective: To determine the total flavonoid content of the young betel leaf extract fraction (Piper betle L.) and the sun protection factor (SPF) value in the distilled water and ethyl acetate fractions.Methods: The experimental method with a posttest-only control group design involved qualitative analysis using thin layer chromatography (TLC) and quantitative data using UV-Vis spectrophotometry to determine total flavonoid levels and sun protection factor (SPF) values using the Mansur method.Results: The TLC analysis confirmed the presence of flavonoid compounds. Quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometry showed total flavonoid content of 14.4 mg EQ/g (1.44%) in distilled water and 16.4 mg EQ/g (1.64%) in the ethyl acetate fraction. The highest SPF value was 17.29 at 600 ppm in the ethyl acetate fraction (ultra protection), while the lowest was in the distilled water fraction at 200 ppm (minimum category).Conclusion: The young betel leaf extract fractions showed that the distilled water fraction contained 14.4 mg EQ/g (1.44%) flavonoids, while the ethyl acetate fraction had 16.4 mg EQ/g (1.64%). The highest SPF value of 17.29 (ultra protection) was found in the ethyl acetate fraction at 600 ppm.

Abstract

Background: One of the typical Kalimantan plants that can be used as a source of medicine and can be used as an herbal ingredient is the Bangkal Plant. On the leaves there are various compounds such as alkaloids, steroids, tannins and flavonoids. Compounds that have a strong pharmacological effect and have a role as an antioxidant are flavonoid compounds.Objective: This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoids and antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of Bangkal Leaf (Nauclea subdita (Korth).Methods: This study uses an extraction method using 70% ethanol solvent and is soaked for 3 × 24 hours, the viscous extract produced is carried out a qualitative test with the identification of metabolite compounds and a quantitative test with the determination of flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity.Results: The results of the identification of metabolite compounds using color reagents obtained ethanol extract of Bangkal Leaf (Nauclea subdita (Korth) containing alkaloid compounds, steroids, tannins and flavonoids. The flavonoid level is 9.524 mgQE/g. The antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of Bangkal Leaf (Nauclea subdita (Korth) showed an IC50 value of 3.424 ppm.Conclusion: Based on the results of research that has been carried out, public knowledge relates to the rational use drugs for toothache. The need for information and education related to the use of drugs for tootchache rationally
