Abstract

The modern education system has tended to focus on academic achievement. The result is a generation that is intellectually intelligent but lacks empathy and spiritual awareness. The purpose of this study is to identify the concept of fitrah education at the Al-Fikri Islamic School, the implementation of the fitrah education concept at the school, and the ideal holistic concept of fitrah-based education. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, focusing on examining the background, interactions, and conditions of the Al-Fikri Islamic School. Data collection techniques included interviews with the principal and one Islamic Education teacher. The results of this study are as follows: First, Al-Fikri School demonstrates that the ideal educational process should be oriented toward developing children's natural potential, not merely pursuing academic achievement. Second, the learning process is conducted through a dialogical approach, hands-on practice, activities such as reciting the Qur'an, and the integration of general knowledge with religious knowledge. Third, holistic education aims to shape individuals who reflect the character of the Prophet Muhammad, who are creative, independent, adaptive, and capable of facing the challenges of the times. Abstract

This study explores the influence of Islamic education on the character formation of adolescents in the context of the challenges posed by globalization. The rapid advancement of technology and the increasing exposure to global values have raised concerns about the erosion of traditional values, particularly in the younger generation. This research aims to investigate how Islamic educational institutions contribute to strengthening the moral and ethical values of adolescents in the face of these challenges. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys and interviews with adolescent students in Islamic schools, focusing on their perceptions of character development, the role of religious teachings, and their ability to navigate modern societal influences. The findings suggest that Islamic education plays a crucial role in shaping the character of adolescents, especially in fostering a strong sense of responsibility, respect for others, and resilience against negative external influences. The study highlights the importance of integrating Islamic values into education as a countermeasure to the negative effects of globalization. This research contributes to the understanding of how religious education can serve as a foundation for developing moral character, offering practical insights for educators, policymakers, and parents aiming to guide adolescents through the complexities of contemporary society.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons in schools play a strategic role in shaping students' faith, morals, and personalities. However, in practice, PAI learning is often cognitive, memorization-oriented, and pays little attention to differences in student potential and development. This study used a descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through interviews with PAI teachers, field observations, and photo documentation, then analyzed qualitatively to produce valid, practical, and contextual products. The results of this study indicate that the Fitrah-based education model aligns with the principles of the Qur'an and is able to increase the internalization of Islamic values through learning oriented to faith, morals, and real-life experiences of students. During the learning design and implementation stages, PAI teachers created a learning syllabus. This syllabus was tailored to the needs of studentFikri Islamic Fitrah School. The planning was also adapted to the learning program, as Al-Fikri School uses a variety of activity methods. This diversity has supported the holistic development of students. It also helps balance students' intellectual, emotional, social, and personality development. Report-based evaluations can include reflective journals, portfolios, attitude observations, and project assessments. Students have benefited from the fitrah learning model. Of the 32 students, 29, or 90.63%, stated that it significantly helped them understand Islamic teachings more deeply. Furthermore, 93.75% of students reported an increase in spiritual and moral awareness. Thus, the fitrah learning model can be considered highly effective.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of moral education proposed by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah and to analyze its relevance to the objectives of Indonesia’s National Education system. The research is motivated by the moral decline among students in the modern era, which tends to prioritize scientific and technological advancement while neglecting moral and spiritual values. This study employs a library research approach, utilizing primary and secondary sources related to Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah’s works. Data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods and content analysis. The findings reveal that Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah’s concept of moral education centers on the purification of the heart as the foundation of character development. Moral education emphasizes tazkiyat al-nafs through the cultivation of universal values such as honesty, trustworthiness, inner peace, and social responsibility, integrated within theological, individual, and social dimensions. These findings indicate that Ibn Qayyim’s moral education framework plays a crucial role in shaping moral conduct in daily life. The study implies that Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah’s concept of moral education is highly relevant and aligned with the goals of Indonesia’s National Education, particularly through a deep learning approach that focuses on developing learners who are faithful, pious, morally upright, and possess strong personal character.
