Abstract

Motivation in the learning process is very important for students to have as a driving force for enthusiasm in learning. Low motivation in learning can have a negative impact on decreasing student interest and learning outcomes. this study aims to investigate the factors that contribute to low student learning motivation at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Iman. The research method used is a qualitative approach by applying a single case study method. All students of Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Iman, totaling 73 students, became the research subjects. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, direct interviews, and documentation. The results revealed four main factors that influence students' low learning motivation. First, the inadequate condition of the school environment plays a role in reducing students' enthusiasm for learning. Second, students' lack of self-responsibility is also a factor that affects learning motivation. Third, parents' motivational support regarding the importance of education is insufficient, having a negative impact on students' enthusiasm for learning. Fourth, effective cooperation agreements between parents, school and pesantren in creating discipline for students also play a role. Thus, it can be concluded that there are four main factors that contribute to low student motivation at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Iman.

Abstract

The low physics learning outcomes of students are influenced by several factors, namely the selection of learning models and media that are less supportive so students are less responsive to learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Google Classroom on student learning outcomes and describe student responses to the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Google Classroom on straight-motion dynamics material. This research is an experimental research using a posttest-only control group design. The sample selection was done by cluster random sampling method. Data collection methods consist of observation, interviews, documentation, written tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique of learning outcomes used an independent sample t-test, while student responses used score criteria. The results showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) in the t-test using SPSS is 0.000 (? 0.05). Then, for the results of experimental class student responses, the results of the response aspect were 82.58% and the reaction aspect was 83.44%, both of which were in the interval 80 ? P ? 100 with a very good category. The conclusion obtained is that there is a significant effect of the application of the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Google Classroom on the learning outcomes of students of SMAN 3 Jember on the material of the dynamics of straight motion. Then, the results of student responses to the application of the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Google Classroom on the material of the dynamics of straight motion obtained positive responses and reactions and included in the very good criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peranan budaya sekolah dalam meningkatkan disiplin kerja guru. Budaya sekolah yang positif, yang ditandai oleh kepemimpinan transformasional, kolaborasi, sistem penghargaan, dan nilai-nilai bersama, diyakini menjadi fondasi krusial bagi pembentukan etos kerja yang disiplin. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur, penelitian ini mengkaji berbagai sumber sekunder seperti artikel jurnal ilmiah terbitan tahun 2020–2025. Hasil sintesis literatur menunjukkan bahwa budaya sekolah berperan secara strategis untuk mendorong, memperlancar, dan menguatkan disiplin kerja guru. Budaya sekolah yang kuat menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang terstruktur dan suportif, yang mendorong internalisasi nilai-nilai disiplin, memfasilitasi pengawasan kolektif, serta memperkuat motivasi intrinsik guru dalam menaati aturan dan standar profesional. Kesimpulannya, pengembangan dan pemeliharaan budaya sekolah yang positif merupakan langkah intervensi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan kerja guru, yang pada gilirannya berdampak pada peningkatan kinerja dan mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the enactive process through experimental activities on student learning outcomes in science education. The enactive process, as proposed by Bruner, emphasizes the direct involvement of students in manipulating objects and conducting real experiences as the basis for concept formation. This study uses a literature review approach to examine scientific publications on the role of enactive processes through experimental activities in improving learning outcomes based on Bruner's theory. Data were obtained from reputable articles on Google Scholar and ScienceDirect that were relevant and up-to-date, then analyzed thematically to reveal the relationship between the enactive process, student engagement, and improved learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that the enactive process plays an important role in science learning because it directly involves students through experiments, thereby increasing student activity, conceptual understanding, science process skills, and overall learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Monopoly media on IPAS learning outcomes and critical thinking skills among fourth-grade elementary school students. The study responds to the persistent challenge of low learning achievement and limited critical thinking resulting from teacher-centered instructional practices. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of PBL with Monopoly-based educational media to create a contextual and engaging learning environment in IPAS instruction. A quantitative approach with a posttest-only control group experimental design was employed. The study was conducted during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at SDN 2 Alasmalang and SDN 1 Benelan Kidul, Banyuwangi Regency. The sample consisted of 47 fourth-grade students, including 24 students in the experimental group and 23 students in the control group. The experimental group received PBL instruction supported by Monopoly media, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation. Learning outcomes were measured using multiple-choice tests, whereas critical thinking skills were assessed through essay tests covering interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests followed by independent-samples t-tests. The findings revealed that the PBL model assisted by Monopoly media significantly improved IPAS learning outcomes (p = 0.006) and critical thinking skills (p = 0.009). These results suggest that integrating PBL with Monopoly media is an effective instructional strategy for promoting meaningful learning and enhancing higher-order thinking skills in elementary IPAS education.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Augmented Reality (AR) media based on contextual problem scenarios on students' problem-solving ability and cognitive learning levels in IPAS for Grade V elementary school students. The research was motivated by low problem-solving ability and suboptimal learning outcomes at Cluster 1, Sumberjambe District, Jember Regency, where a pre-assessment revealed a mean score of only 38.2 out of 100. AR media designed around contextual problem scenarios, specifically environmental pollution, was integrated within the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to visualize abstract concepts through interactive 3D objects using gyroscope-based markerless technology. A quasi-experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group was employed. The research population consisted of all Grade V elementary school students in Cluster 1, Sumberjambe District, with a sample of 56 Grade V students selected from SDN Jambearum 01 (experimental class, n = 28) and SDN Pringgondani 01 (control class, n = 28). Data were collected using a problem-solving ability test based on Polya's four stages and an IPAS learning outcomes test covering cognitive levels C1–C4 of the revised Bloom's Taxonomy, analyzed using Independent Sample t-tests. The results showed a significant effect on problem-solving ability (t(54) = 9.177, p < 0.001), with the experimental class achieving a mean of 78.90 compared to 52.85 in the control class. A significant effect was also found on cognitive learning levels (t(54) = 4.968, p < 0.001), with the experimental class obtaining a mean of 83.21 versus 73.61. In conclusion, the use of AR media based on contextual problem scenarios effectively and significantly improves both problem-solving competency and cognitive learning levels in elementary school IPAS learning.

Abstract

In the science learning process, one of the abilities that needs to be developed to achieve 21st century skills is the ability to think critically in solving or resolving problems. Critical thinking is an important competency that must be developed through learning. In the science learning process, one of the abilities that needs to be developed to achieve 21st century skills is the ability to think critically in resolving or solving problems. Students' critical thinking abilities must be honed and trained in the classroom. There are lots of learning media that use the latest technology in the era of society 5.0, one of which is animated video learning media. Efforts to develop students' optimal critical thinking skills require interactive classes, students are seen as thinkers, not people being taught, and teachers act as mediators, facilitators and motivators who help students learn, not teach. Animated videos are a different learning media and can make students focus on learning, namely animated video-based learning media. Animation is a collection of images that will be processed in such a way that they can produce movement. This research aims to test the effect of the PBL model accompanied by Canva AI animated videos on critical thinking skills in science learning.  The use of video media in the form of animated video media can provide a good response to students. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, and learning outcomes tests to measure students' critical thinking abilities. The data analysis technique used was a normality test with a t test with an independent sample t test which showed that the PBL model accompanied by Canva AI animation videos had a significant effect on critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between self-efficacy and Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) of Generation Z preservice physics teachers. Given the unique characteristics of Generation Z, who are tech-savvy but often face challenges in mastering in-depth physics content. The research method used is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected from 75 preservice physics teachers using a PCK test instrument adapted from DTAMS and a self-efficacy questionnaire. Qualitative data were obtained from in-depth interviews with 20 preservice teacher participants. The main finding of the quantitative analysis was that there was no significant relationship between self-efficacy and PCK among preservice teachers. Pearson's correlation test confirmed that there was no significant linear relationship between the two (r<0.2). Qualitative findings explain that self-efficacy is conditional, built through philosophical beliefs about the importance of learning reform, short-term preparation of physics material before teaching, and validation of the success of teaching methods during field practice. This study concludes that for Generation Z preservice physics teachers, self-efficacy develops independently of the domains of knowledge and pedagogy. The implication of this study is that teaching preparation and teaching practice strategies need to be trained more in the preparation of preservice teachers.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the Physics students' thought patterns concern-ing the greenhouse effect. Descriptive analysis was used, including the set of qualitative data. These data were then interpreted for their idea and content inductively to recognize students' thoughts and models concerning the greenhouse effect. The result confirmed three patterns of the students' thoughts concerning the greenhouse effect (patterns A, B, and C). The model covered different concepts, mechanisms, and processes of the greenhouse effect. The students' knowledge from science teacher explanations and books is not the only learning source concerning the educational environment. The issue and broadcast media frequently carry out confusing the concepts. This research is expected to provide physics teachers critical information to develop appropriate teaching methods and strategies concerning these topics.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the determinants of adaptive performance, namely knowledge competence and organizational culture with the mediation of perceived organizational support. This study uses explanatory research with a population of MSMEs in Jember Regency with a sampling of 295 respondents spread across various types/categories of MSMEs. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0 was used to test the suggested study model. The findings show that knowledge competence and organizational culture significantly improve adaptive performance, both directly and indirectly through perceived organizational support. Through the integration of knowledge competency and organizational culture as important antecedents and the positioning of perceived organizational support as a mediating mechanism, this study enhances the theoretical understanding of adaptive performance. To improve employees' capacity to adaptive performance, MSME owners and managers should make investments in ongoing knowledge competence and foster an adaptable organizational culture. Long-term competitiveness can also be strategically enhanced by bolstering perceived organizational support through equitable treatment, acknowledgment, and sufficient resources.
