Abstract

This research is motivated by the important role of oil palm plantations as a driver of the rural economy in Laut Tador Village, Batu Bara Regency. The purpose of the community service is to analyze the economic impact of oil palm plantations on local farmers' incomes and identify the resulting multiplier effects. The method used is descriptive qualitative through interviews, field observations, and document studies. The results of the study indicate that oil palm plantations contribute significantly to farmers' incomes with an average of IDR 2–5 million per month and create employment and supporting businesses. However, farmers still face challenges such as fluctuations in FFB prices, dependence on middlemen, and minimal business diversification. The study's conclusions emphasize the need for price stabilization policies, technical assistance, and business diversification to optimize the economic benefits of oil palm plantations in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

Abstract

The first step in the preparation stage of guidance and counseling program planning is to conduct a needs assessment. Needs assessment is an activity that aims to find the real conditions of students which will be used as the basis for planning guidance and counseling programs. One way to conduct a needs assessment is by distributing AKPD (Angket Kebutuhan Peserta Didik). The purpose of this study is to determine the needs of students in the personal, social, career and learning fields that can be used as a basis for developing guidance and counseling programs in schools so that the programs developed are in accordance with the needs of students. The research subjects used in this study were class X students at one of the State Senior High Schools in Cibinong, Bogor as many as 250 people. Data collection for this study used AKPD (Angket Kebutuhan Peserta Didik) consisting of 50 statement items describing personal, social, career, and learning areas which were entered into Google Form and then filled in by respondents. Based on the results of the study, the personal field was the aspect most chosen by respondents at 45.92% while the career field was the aspect least chosen by respondents at 11.73%. The results of this needs assessment are very helpful for counseling teachers to find out the needs of students to get guidance and counseling services, both counseling services provided individually.

Abstract

The Guidance and Counseling Program is the most important part in the implementation of Guidance and Counseling services in schools. In its preparation, it certainly cannot only be based on observation or limited to administrative needs by using assessments that do not measure the real needs and problems of students. This is an important discussion to understand that the use of appropriate assessments will provide accurate information, especially to find out the problems of students. For this reason, a problem assessment is needed to reveal data on the highest learner problems in what fields. This study uses a type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach in the form of a score or percentage of the results of the problem assessment. The research subjects were XII grade students at senior high school with the highest assessment results in the career field of 14.87%, learning 12.89%, personal 11.7%, and social 8.67%. The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to develop a service program in the career field to help students overcome career-related problems so that they can achieve maturity in developmental tasks regarding career insight career readiness.

Abstract

The series of eruptions from Mount Sinabung in recent years caused significant damage to the surrounding villages. This led to the implementation of a relocation policy. Three villages were relocated to the Siosar Relocation Area in the first stage, while four other villages were given the freedom to choose their new homes in the second relocation stage. The villagers moved from their hometowns to new places to start fresh lives. This raised questions about the relationships and social status of the relocated communities. The villagers lost their agricultural land. The government provided 0.5 hectares of land for farming for those who were moved to the Siosar Relocation Area and cash amounting to Rp. 20,000,000 for the second stage. However, the new land had different edaphic conditions, steeper topography, cooler temperatures, and new marketing arrangements. This raised questions about how these new conditions affected the economy of the relocated communities in both the first and second stages. Using a qualitative approach, this study applied in-depth interviews and direct observations. The findings showed differences in the social and economic conditions of the relocated communities between the two stages. Overall, the economic and social conditions of the people moved to the siosar relocation area were better compared to those who received cash in the relocation stage.
