Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Canva as a medium for learning Arabic. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The instruments used by the researcher in data collection were interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the use of Canva in Arabic language learning is able to meet the need for visualization of Arabic language learning materials in a concrete and structured manner, although there are still technical obstacles such as internet connection, device limitations, and premium features. This study also confirms that Canva has strong relevance in strengthening students' digital literacy in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 because it not only facilitates access to technology but also encourages the development of creativity, collaboration, and visual communication skills as 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Post-Covid-19 pandemic, virtual technology is no longer merely a solution for online learning but has become an integral part of modern education. Students of the Arabic Language Education (PBA) postgraduate program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang frequently utilize online platforms in learning activities to support teaching and learning processes, including discussions, presentations, assignment submissions, and evaluations. This study aims to describe the utilization, advantages, and disadvantages of virtual media technology in Arabic language learning among PBA postgraduate students after the pandemic. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. Data were collected through unstructured interviews and questionnaires distributed to PBA postgraduate students. The findings reveal that students utilize virtual technology such as video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Google Meet for interactive learning, language learning applications like Duolingo for self-directed skill improvement, and digital dictionaries for flexible material access and vocabulary comprehension. Online discussion forums like WhatsApp are also used for collaboration and information exchange. Furthermore, students experience several advantages of virtual technology in learning Arabic, including time and place flexibility, easy access to learning materials, online interaction with teachers and peers, multimedia utilization, and self-paced learning. However, students also face challenges, including poor internet connections, limited direct interaction with instructors, difficulties understanding material online, lack of motivation for independent study, and insufficient opportunities for speaking practice.

Abstract

Desain materi ajar bahasa Arab dengan fokus pembelajaran unsur bahasa yang melibatkan bentuk, makna, dan fungsi menjadi tuntutan regulasi KMA 183 tahun 2019 dan kurikulum merdeka 2022, namun keberadaannya masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan rekonstruksi itu dengan menggunakan Systemic Functional Theory, Genre based Approach, dan Text-driven Approach. Penelitian ini masuk jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan mengikuti Prosedur rekonstruksi bahan ajar  Wala dan Tomlinson. Hasil rekonstruksi diterapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Madrasah, sehingga sumber data utamanya adalah KMA 183 tahun 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  bahwa tampilan utuh bahan ajar menurut systemic functional theory yang menjadikan bahan ajar sebagai simbol sistem yang mengantarkan pembelajar bahasa sampai pada tujuannya harus ada konten dan ekspresi. Sehingga dalam bahan ajar harus ada title, introduction, learning task, dan closing. Empat hal inilah yang ditetapkan sebagai prosedur pengembangan sekaligus. Bahan ajar bukan hanya materi tapi juga aktivitas pembelajaran. Text-driven approach yang menawarkan urutan Readiness activity, Experiential activities, intake response activities, development activities (1), input response activities, dan development activities (2) yang mengisi aktivitas tersebut.. Dua aktivitas pertama masuk di introduction, dan aktivitas yang lainnya masuk di learning task. Kemudian enam aktivitas ini dimasukkan dalam empat siklus pendekatan berbasis teks. Pada siklus membangun konteks ada  Readiness activity dan  Experiential activities. Pada siklus kedua pemodelan ada aktivitas intake dan input response activities. Sedangkan pada siklus ketiga dan  keempat yaitu mengkonstruk teks terbimbing dan mandiri ada development task.. Tawaran ini diharapkan bisa mengantar para pebelajar bahasa Arab di Madrasah menguasai unsur bahasa baik dari bentuk, makna, dan fungsi sekaligus mengantar pada penguasaan keterampilan berbahasa dan menggunakannya sesuai dengan fungsi komunikasinya serta memiliki keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena peranan bahasa Arab yang sangat penting, yakni sebagai alat untuk mengkaji kitab dan teks-teks berbahasa arab, pengelola maupun pengajar bahasa Arab sendiri mempunyai strategi khusus tentunya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Arab santri di pondok pesantren Ibnul Amin Pemangkih, terutama karena bahasa Arab di pondok pesantren Ibnul Amin Pemangkih bukan ditujukan untuk menigkatkan kemampuan komunikasi melainkan sebagai media untuk memahami kitab klasik. Salah satu pengembangan kurikulum yang dilaksanakan pihak lembaga termasuk ustadz yang mengajar Bahasa Arab yakni diadakannya pembelajaran Bahasa arab sebagai sarana dan kegiatan penunjang untuk menigkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Arab santri terutama dari segi gramatika Bahasa Arab namun dibalik usaha lembaga ini dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran bahasa Arab pada kenyataan dilapangan diketahui ada beberapa kendala dalam implementasi manajemen ini yaitu, sebagian dari santrinya kurang meminati pembelajaran bahasa Arab hal ini ditunjukan dengan sedikitnya santri yang datang pada pembelajaran tersebut. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian lapangan, dengan menggunakan teori manajemen kurikulum. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan pengamatan partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, yang berkaitan dengan pokok permasalahan yang dibahas, baik berupa buku-buku, artikel ilmiah, jurnal, dan lain-lain. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwasanya implementasi manajemen kurikulum Bahasa Arab yag didalamnya sekaligus terdapat manajemen pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan oleh pihak Pondok Pesantren Ibnul Amin Pemangkih, secara manajemen sudah terlaksana.

This study aims to describe the steps taken by lecturers on the use of YouTube media in the Arabic Language Learning Study course and how students perceive YouTube media users in learning. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods. The instruments that researchers use in data collection are interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study show, 1) YouTube is able to become an effective learning medium, especially in the current conditions that require distance learning. 2) Lecturers carry out learning with several steps, namely, a) delivery of material and questions and answers. b) Assignment. c) Evaluation. 3) Students gave positive responses to the use of YouTube as a medium of learning in Arabic learning study courses, provided that the media was easy, innovative and creative. Researchers hope that this research can add insight to teaching staff in making innovations in learning and making students more able to use social media in a more positive direction. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the SQ4R learning model on the reading skills of students at MAN 2 Ponorogo. This study uses a Quasi Experimental Design with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The total sample consisted of 54 students and divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 27 students. Data collection was conducted through pretests and posttests. The results showed that the average pretest and posttest scores for the control group were 51.11 and 64.44, respectively, while those for the experimental group were 48.88 and 77.40. The experimental group’s N-Gain score of 60.6% (classified as moderately effective) was higher than the control group’s score of 27.4% (classified as ineffective). The results of the Independent Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The study concludes that the SQ4R learning model proved to be more effective than conventional learning in improving the Arabic reading skills of 11th-grade students at MAN 2 Ponorogo

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of the implementation of the Arabic language course program at Al-Nashr Institute – Pare, Kediri, as a form of non-formal education development based on Islamic values. The main focus of this research is to analyze the processes of planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling in the implementation of the program, as well as how these elements shape an effective management system. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the program is implemented systematically, starting from well-prepared curriculum planning, a clear organizational structure, effective coordination among departments, up to regular evaluation of learning. Learning activities were also designed in an integrative manner between academic and religious aspects, using a combination of traditional and modern methods. These findings indicate that the managerial practices at this institute are effectively implemented and reflect the principles of classical management, particularly the five management functions proposed by Henri Fayol. This result demonstrates that classical management theory remains relevant and applicable in the context of non-formal Arabic language education based on Islamic values in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) to explain Arabic calligraphy instruction using a behaviorist approach among students in the Arabic Language Education Department at Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic University in Probolinggo, (2) to describe its contribution to the development of students’ moral values, and (3) to identify the challenges faced in its implementation. This study employs a qualitative approach to collect data in the field. It is a case study. The data collection methods used include observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data analysis method used in this study is the qualitative approach according to Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study employs source triangulation and methodological triangulation. The results of the study conducted on Arabic Language Education students at Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic University in Probolinggo are as follows: 1) Khat Araby instruction is carried out systematically using a behaviorist approach through structured practice, habituation, and reinforcement. Instructors provide examples, followed by repeated practice with guidance, immediate correction, and evaluations that emphasize both process and outcomes, thereby effectively improving students’ ability to write Arabic letters correctly and neatly. 2) Khat Araby instruction using a behaviorist approach makes a tangible contribution to the development of students’ moral values through repeated practice, immediate correction, and consistent reinforcement. This process not only improves writing skills but also fosters patience, discipline, perseverance, and responsibility. 3). The challenges faced include internal factors, such as low motivation, boredom, lack of self-confidence, and inconsistent practice, as well as external factors such as limited credit hours, facilities, classroom conditions, and the influence of digital technology. Behaviorist-based instruction in Khat Araby, utilizing structured practice and systematic reinforcement, has proven effective in improving students’ technical skills. These findings indicate that repetitive practice not only hones motor skills but also serves as a means of fostering moral values such as patience, discipline, perseverance, and responsibility.

Abstract

Pembelajaran maharah qira’ah dalam media digital sering kali masih bersifat parsial dan belum menunjukkan struktur pedagogis yang utuh, sehingga pemanfaatannya cenderung terbatas sebagai sumber bacaan, bukan sebagai sistem pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penyajian materi, sistem klasifikasi level, dan bentuk latihan dalam web Al Jazeera Learning Arabic sebagai model pembelajaran qira’ah berbasis digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi dan analisis dokumentasi terhadap fitur materi dan latihan pada platform Al Jazeera. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penyajian materi disusun secara integratif melalui teks, mufrodat, ibarah, dan qawa’id dalam alur bertahap; (2) Sistem klasifikasi level tersusun secara sistematis dalam tiga tingkatan utama dengan variasi mustawa yang mendukung diferensiasi pembelajaran; dan (3) Latihan disajikan secara variatif dan bertahap, namun masih terbatas pada evaluasi tanpa umpan balik rinci. Keunikan temuan terletak pada integrasi ketiga komponen tersebut sebagai satu kesatuan desain pembelajaran qira’ah dalam platform digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa web Al Jazeera Learning Arabic memiliki struktur pedagogis yang sistematis dan adaptif dalam mendukung pembelajaran membaca secara mandiri.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran diferensiasi dan implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran maharah qira’ah di jenjang Madrasah Aliyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi lapangan. Subjek penelitian ini peserta didik kelas X MAN 2 Kota Kediri. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini teknik deskriptif dengan metode Miles, Huberman dan Saldana yaitu proses kondensasi data (data collection), penyajian data (data display), dan penarikan kesimpulan (conclution drawing). Hasil penelitian ini yaitu: pertama penerapan diferensiasi dilakukan dengan diawali melakukan tes diagnostik kognitif dan non-kognitif untuk mengetahui kebutuhan belajar, potensi dan katakter peserta didik. Kedua, optimalisasi pembelajaran diferensiasi berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dengan melakukan strategi konten, proses, dan produk. Pada setiap strategi diferensiasi dalam penerapan pembelajaran diferensiasi pada pembelajaran maharah qira’ah berbasis HOTS mampu memberikan peran penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca, mampu mengakomodasi keberagaman peserta didik, dan menciptakan keterlibatan peserta didik yang lebih tinggi.
