Abstract

Cangkul adalah alat pertanian yang menggunakan konsep fisika salah satunya menggabungkan konsep pesawat sederhana, yang menggunakan prinsip sejenis pengungkit atau pengungkit ketiga, yaitu titik gaya antara titik beban dan titik tumpu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kemampuan mahasiswa pendidikan fisika Universitas Jember dalam memahami konsep-konsep fisika pada alat pertanian cangkul. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif, teknik pengambilan data menggunakan 10 butir soal dengan subjek mahasiswa pendidikan fisika universitas jember sebanyak 50 responden. Hasil penelitian menggunakan kuisioner berupa google forms diperoleh nilai rata-rata mahasiswa pendidikan fisika sebesar 65. Dapat simpulkan bahwa pemahaman mahasiswa pendidikan fisika terkait dengan konsep fisika pada alat pertanian cangkul masuk kategori cukup.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji potensi pemanfaatan radiasi sinar gamma untuk ertumbuhan tanaman padi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknikl iteratur review. Data yang telah didapat akan dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan radiasi sinar Gamma dalam dosis rendah memiliki berbagai manfaat, termasuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit tanaman serta perkecambahan benih, memperbaiki sel-sel respirasi, meningkatkan aktivitas enzim, serta meningkatkan produksi struktur tanaman. Sedangkan, dengan dosis yang terlalu tinggi, maka radiasi sinarg Gamma dapat mengganggu pertumbuhan tanaman. Pada pertumbuhan tanaman padi, dosis radiasi sinar Gamma berbeda-beda sesuai dengan jenis tanaman padi. Padi jenis Kultivar Sileso Generasi M-2, padi Siam Kuning, padi lokal Aceh kultivar Sileso generasi M1, padi Varietas Ramos, dan padi lokal Ase Banda mengalami pertumbuhan terbaik dengan dosis radiasi sinar Gamma sebesar 300 Gy. Padi varietas Sintanur mengalami pertumbuhan terbaik dengan dosisn500 Gy. Padi gogo mengalami pertumbuhan terbaik dengan dosis kurang dari 408 Gy. Padi varietas mentik susul mengalami perubahan genetik yang efektif dengan dosis radiasi 100 Gy dan 200 Gy. Padi varietas lokal SiGadis mengalami perkecambahan benih tercepat dengan dosis radiasi 300 Gy.

Abstract

Medan magnet ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) merupakan spektrum gelombang elektromagnetik, dimana frekuensi yang dimiliki kurang dari 300 Hz dan termasuk radiasi non pengion. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh paparan medan magnet ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) terhadap pH udang vaname. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dan menggunakan desain penelitian rancang acak lengkap. Ada dua kelompok dalam penelitian ini, yaitu kelompok kontrol yang tidak di papar medan magnet dan kelompok eksperimen yang di papar medan magnet. Pada kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan dengan pemaparan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency dengan intensitas 300 μT dan 500 μT dan waktu paparan 60 menit, 90 menit, dan 120 menit. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 145 sampel udang yang berukuran sama. Kelompok eksperimen ada 120 sampel dan kelompok kontrol ada 25 sampel. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan SPSS 22 dengan uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil dari teknik analisis data tersebut yaitu paparan medan magnet ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) berpengaruh terhadap pH udang vaname. Extremely Low-Frequency magnetic field is a spectrum of electromagnetic waves, where the frequency is less than 300 Hz and includes non-ionizing radiation. This study aims to examine the effect of exposure to ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic fields on Vannamei shrimp's pH. This research uses experimental research and uses completely randomized design research. This study has two groups: the control group, which is not exposed to magnetic fields, and the experimental group exposed to magnetic fields. The experimental group was given treatment with exposure to Extremely Low-Frequency magnetic fields with an intensity of 300 μT and 500 μT and exposure time of 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes. The samples used were 145 shrimp samples of the same size. The experimental group had 120 samples, and the control group had 25 samples. The data analysis technique used was SPSS 22 with the Kruskal-Wallis test. The result of the data analysis technique is that exposure to an Extremely Low-Frequency magnetic field affects Vannamei shrimp's pH. The pH value of the control group was higher than the experimental group. ELF magnetic exposure can suppress the growth of acid-forming microorganisms in shrimp. It can be proven that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in pH value, while the control group experienced a drastic increase in pH value.

Abstract

The electricity distribution substation is one of the components of the electricity distribution system. Electrical distribution substations, especially portal pole-type electrical distribution substations, can emit ELF fields. However, people need to be aware of the health risks of ELF fields and continue to carry out various activities near electricity distribution substations. This research aims to create a distribution pattern for ELF Field and determine its safety level based on WHO thresholds. The research was conducted in the Jember Regency, particularly in Sumbersari District. This research uses a portal pole-type electricity distribution substations. The substation criteria studied were a portal pole distribution substation on a 20 kV transmission line with a transformer capacity of 160 kVA. The measurement points are 0 m below the transformer, 0.7 m, 1.4 m, 2.1 m, 2.8 m, 3.5 m, 4.1 m, and 4.9 m from the distribution substation building at a height of 1.5 m from the ground for three days at 21.00 WIB and 30 measurements were taken. The distances of these points to the transformer are 4.256 m, 4.313 m, 4.480 m, 4.745 m, 5.094 m, 5.510 m, 5.979 m and 6.490 m respectively. The type of research used is quantitative research with survey data collection techniques. The research design used was cross sectional study. Cross sectional study is a type of observational research design that collects data at one specific point in time from a sample which represents the population studied. ELF field measurements show a spherical distribution pattern with an average magnetic field intensity between 0.0358 µT and 2.91 µT and an average electric field intensity between 2.35 V/m and 16.42 V/m. The magnitude of the magnetic field and electric field measured gets smaller as the distance from the measurement point increases. According to WHO, these results are below the threshold for the general group. This research concludes that the portal pole-type distribution substation in the medium voltage network produces a safe ELF field with a spherical distribution pattern that is inversely proportional to the distance.

Abstract

Physics learning is rarely associated with local wisdom, so many people think the local arts have a separate topic from scientific study. This research analyzes the equilibrium concepts at Tari Banjarkemuning from Sidoarjo, East Java. This qualitative research uses content analysis techniques divided into six steps: unitizing, sampling, coding, reducing, inferring, and narrating. The data were collected by observation, documentation, and interviews. The research indicates that the equilibrium concept at Tari Banjarkemuning is the condition of equilibrium and the center of mass. The equilibrium state is shown in the motion of Embat-Embat and Solah Kembang Turi at the Sagah position (the silent moment of the dancers while inclined the bodies sideways and backward). Then, the center of mass is shown in the motion of Kejer (the dancers raise one leg) and Kencrongan (the dancers at the Tanjak position open- dancers’ legs perpendicularly at the knee). The integration of Tari Banjarkemuning in learning activities is expected for students to understand physics concepts easily. At the same time, it can make meaningful physics learning and build a better character for students.

Abstract

Tanaman jagung memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam sektor pertanian dan ekonomi Indonesia. Sebagai sumber pangan utama dan mata pencaharian bagi jutaan petani di Indonesia, peningkatan kualitas jagung menjadi fokus utama dalam menghadapi perkembangan pengetahuan dan teknologi. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas jagung dan nilai ekonomisnya adalah melalui metode pemuliaan tanaman jagung menggunakan teknik iradiasi sinar gamma, yang dikenal sebagai (Gamma Ray Irradiation). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keuntungan dan kerugian dalam pemanfaatan sinar gamma dalam pertanian jagung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Article Review dengan mengumpulkan 20 artikel dari tahun 2010 hingga 2023. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan sinar gamma memberikan beberapa keuntungan bagi tanaman jagung, seperti membantu petani dalam menghasilkan bibit jagung yang unggul dan berkualitas, menciptakan keragaman fisiologis, dan mempermudah dalam seleksi bibit yang unggul. Namun, kekurangan dari metode ini adalah memerlukan biaya yang cukup besar.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a form of learning that is oriented to the needs of students. This research is a classroom action research which aims to determine the effect of implementing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (VAK) learning style-based differentiation in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' physics learning activities and outcomes. The material used is global warming. This research was conducted in class X-2 of State High School 3 Jember for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The subjects of this study were of 36 students who were divided into three VAK learning style profile categories. This research includes quantitative descriptive research. The research data collection method used a Likert scale learning style questionnaire, activity observation sheets and written tests to obtain students' physics learning outcomes. The design used in this study was the Tagart and Kemmis model cycles and the data obtained was analyzed using classical learning completeness. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning activities by 20.14% and an increase in student physics learning outcomes classically by 25% and the average level of mastery learning was above the minimum completeness criteria with an increase in the average score of 6.06. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL learning model based on VAK learning style differentiation can increase student activity and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Exposure threshold values (ELF MF) according to WHO, 100 μT for the public and 500 μT for workers, are still being debated. This study examines the potential impact of anemia in BULB/C mice exposed to ELF MF intensities of 100 μT and 500 μT. The research design used a completely randomized design with intensity and duration of exposure to ELF MF as factors. A sample of 60 male Bulb/C mice were divided into 6 groups, 2 groups exposed to ELF MF 100 μT, 2 groups exposed to ELF MF 500 μT, and 2 control groups. Indicators of anemia include the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit using the complete blood count (CBC) method. Two Way Anova analysis (α = 5%), proved that the intensity factor had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit levels, while the length of exposure factor had no effect (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Exposure to ELF MF intensity of 100 μT for 30 days has the potential to cause anemia in BULB/c mice, but there appears to be an adaptive response due to exposure to ELF MF 500 μT

Abstract

Studi ini menganalisis pengaruh suhu dan durasi waktu roasting biji kopi Arabika terhadap tingkat keasamannya. Kabupaten Jember memiliki potensi pada pertanian kopi salah satunya jenis Arabika, cita rasa dari kopi Arabika ini sendiri cenderung asam. Salah satu tahap yang memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap citarasa dan aroma dalam kopi yang dihasilkan adalah proses roasting. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan pengumpulan data dari sumber kepustakaan yang relevan dan didukung dari hasil wawancara. Hasil analisis pengaruh suhu dan lama waktu roasting terhadap tingkat keasaman kopi Arabika menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi suhu roasting, tingkat keasaman kopi akan semakin rendah. Durasi waktu roasting juga mempengaruhi tingkat keasaman kopi, meskipun pengaruhnya tidak terlalu signifikan. Namun, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin lama durasi waktu roasting, tingkat keasaman kopi juga akan semakin rendah. Oleh karena itu, suhu dan durasi waktu roasting perlu diperhatikan dengan baik dalam proses pembuatan produk kopi untuk menghasilkan kualitas kopi yang superior.

Abstract

The principle of self-determination is an important concept in education that emphasises independence, freedom, and individual responsibility for the learning process. In the context of homeschooling, this principle provides opportunities for students to manage learning according to their interests, talents, and needs. Ki Hajar Dewantara's perspective, which emphasises ‘Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa, Tut Wuri Handayani,’ becomes the philosophical foundation in developing student-centred homeschooling education. This philosophy supports freedom of learning without overriding the role of educators as guides and companions. This article examines how the principle of self-determination is applied to homeschooling students in Ki Hajar Dewantara's perspective, including aspects of learning independence, the role of parents as educators, and the importance of building an educational ecosystem that supports students' potential holistically. The results of the analysis show that the application of this principle can increase students' intrinsic motivation, creativity, and responsibility in the learning process, in line with the goals of national education to create independent and characterised human beings.
