Abstract

Limited access to learning resources appropriate to the local context presents a challenge in the mathematics learning process in indigenous communities such as the Baduy Tribe. Conventional mathematics learning is often considered too abstract and less relevant to the daily lives of Baduy children, especially in the Outer Baduy region. To address this challenge, this community service activity aims to introduce contextual mathematics learning media based on the surrounding environment and local culture. The media developed is designed to be easily accessible, affordable, and environmentally friendly, while still respecting prevailing traditional values. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), with a collaborative approach between a team of lecturers and the Outer Baduy community. The activity implementation process includes six stages, namely: identification of local problems and potential, planning, designing learning media, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of activity results. The results of the activity show an increase in interest and understanding of basic mathematics concepts among Outer Baduy children. Children appear more active, enthusiastic, and confident in participating in the learning process through educational games and concrete activities. The media used utilizes natural objects and local cultural elements, such as woodcuts, ancient angklungs, traditional hats, and distinctive Baduy woven motifs. The community responded positively because these media do not conflict with traditional values. This activity has had positive cognitive and social impacts and strengthened awareness of the importance of a contextual and culturally based educational approach as a relevant and inclusive learning strategy.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Gout arthritis, a degenerative disease stemming from improper purine metabolism, is marked by elevated uric acid levels. An individual's physical capacity and general health are significantly affected by their diet.  The likelihood of gout increases with the use of foods high in purines.  An imbalanced diet increases the risk of gout.  Physical exercise refers to any physical movement that leads to heightened energy consumption.  Blood uric acid levels are affected by physical exercise.  Inadequate physical activity will elevate lactic acid levels, which in turn influences uric acid concentrations.  This research aimed to ascertain the correlation between food and physical activity and uric acid levels in older individuals with gout arthritis within the Teluk Tiram Health Center jurisdiction.  The study used a correlation analysis model using a cross-sectional approach and quantitative methods.  The study's population included 62 individuals, selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 45 responses.  Data were collected through questionnaires and uric acid level examination results, analyzed using the Spearman rank test, yielding a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates a significant relationship between diet and physical activity and uric acid levels in elderly patients with gout arthritis in the Teluk Tiram Health Center jurisdiction.  Health staff at the health center are advised to conduct health education sessions on proper nutrition for senior individuals with gout arthritis, as well as on the need of physical exercise to preserve health. Keywords: Gout, Diet, Physical activity, Elderly, Gout arthritis  ABSTRAK Gout arthritis, suatu penyakit degeneratif yang disebabkan oleh gangguan metabolisme purin, ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar asam urat. Abstract

This study examines the effect of sustainability reporting, intellectual capital, and good corporate governance on firm value in telecommunications companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2020-2023. Using quantitative approach and multiple linear regression analysis, data were collected from annual reports of 15 telecommunications companies selected through purposive sampling from a population of 22 companies. The results show that board of directors has a significant positive effect on firm value (? = 0.002), while audit committee has a significant negative effect (? = 0.037). However, sustainability reporting, intellectual capital, and institutional ownership show no significant effects on firm value (? = 0.695, ? = 0.277, and ? = 0.954 respectively). The regression model explains only 17.6% of the variation in firm value, indicating the need for enhanced transparency in sustainability reporting and intellectual capital management, as well as strengthening the role of board of directors and audit committees. These findings provide insights for management and stakeholders in formulating strategies to enhance firm value in the telecommunications sector.

Abstract

Abstract

This study evaluates anemia prevention and control measures among adolescent girls in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, where anemia remains a pressing public health issue. Conducted from March to June 2024 in junior and senior high schools in Donggala and Poso, the cross-sectional study surveyed 384 girls using a structured questionnaire. Ethical approval was granted, and informed consent was obtained from participants. The study revealed a prevalence of anemia at 54.71%, with 79.43% of affected girls reporting iron supplement intake. Significant factors associated with anemia included daily consumption of fortified wheat flour (p = 0.010, PR 1.75), mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) (p = 0.011, PR 1.74), and negative attitudes toward anemia prevention (p = 0.043, PR 1.54). Despite the high percentage of girls taking iron supplements, anemia remains prevalent, indicating gaps in current prevention efforts. The findings highlight the need for enhanced food fortification, better nutritional monitoring, and educational initiatives to shift attitudes and behaviors. Future research should investigate the long-term effectiveness of these interventions to improve public health outcomes.

Abstract

Job satisfaction plays a crucial role in professional settings, particularly as it reflects the effectiveness of individual performance and overall employee well-being. In the context of Generation Z employees working in large manufacturing industries, understanding the factors influencing job satisfaction is essential to improving productivity and retention. This study investigates the relationship between spiritual leadership style, work communication, and organizational collectivism with job satisfaction among Gen Z employees in Cirebon Regency. Specifically, it explores the moderating effect of organizational collectivism on the relationships between spiritual leadership and job satisfaction, and between work communication and job satisfaction. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 200 respondents, with 181 valid responses analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) via SPSS. The findings reveal that both spiritual leadership and work communication significantly and positively affect job satisfaction. Furthermore, organizational collectivism strengthens these relationships, indicating its critical role in enhancing the impact of leadership and communication on job satisfaction. These insights can guide organizations in designing effective leadership and communication strategies while considering cultural dynamics to support Gen Z employee satisfaction.

Abstract

The growth of areca nut (Areca catechu L.) seedlings in peat soil media often faces challenges due to the low nutrient content and less favorable chemical properties of the soil. This study aims to analyze the effect of applying areca nut husk compost and urea fertilizer on the growth of areca nut seedlings in peat soil media. The research was conducted using a factorial randomized complete block design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was the dosage of compost (K) with five levels: 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1 kg. The second factor was the dosage of urea fertilizer (N) with four levels: 0.0, 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 g. The results showed no interaction between the application of areca nut husk compost and urea fertilizer on plant height, stem diameter, and the number of leaves. However, the independent effect of areca nut husk compost significantly influenced the increase in height, stem base diameter, and the number of leaves in areca nut seedlings. Urea fertilizer had a significant effect on the increase in plant height and stem base diameter but did not significantly affect the increase in the number of leaves. The best application dosage for areca nut husk compost was 1 kg, which resulted in the greatest increase in plant height, stem diameter, and the number of leaves. The best urea fertilizer dosage for plant height increase was 4.5 g, while a dosage of 3 g produced the best increase in stem base diameter.
