Abstract

Practice-based microteaching is now an important method in pre-service teacher education, particularly in ICT, as it creates a forum to practice teaching skills in a structured setting. However, the success of this depends greatly on the quality of guidance, which has the capacity to deliver timely and critical feedback. Self-efficacy, being the belief that an individual is capable of completing tasks, has been a significant predictor of learning achievement and motivation. The present research aims to examine the pre-service ICT teachers' learning achievement and the learning motivation of high and low self-efficacy individuals within a practice-based microteaching environment supported by mentoring. In experimental design, the subjects (N = 82) were divided into high and low self-efficacy according to a standardized self-efficacy scale. The data analysis in this study employed the t-test and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The findings of this study indicated there was no difference in learning achievement between the two groups on practice-based mentoring in microteaching for pre-service ICT teachers. Moreover, in intrinsic motivation, it was found that high self-efficacy practice-based mentoring microteaching students have significantly higher intrinsic motivation than low self-efficacy students. In the present study, however, low self-efficacy students for practice-based mentoring microteaching show significantly greater extrinsic motivation than high self-efficacy students. This research offers additional reference to scholars, teachers, and policymakers in investigating the role of self-efficacy in learning activity, learners' accomplishment in learning, and to supporting SDGs 4 and 5 in promoting the quality of education as well as gender equality.

Abstract

The liberalization of education has become a global phenomenon that has brought significant changes to various educational systems, including Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the impact of educational liberalization on Islamic education and explore solutions to integrate the two concepts. The research employs a literature review method by analyzing various academic sources, including books, journals, and official reports related to Islamic education and educational liberalization. The findings indicate that educational liberalization has both positive and negative impacts on Islamic education. On the positive side, liberalization improves access to quality education and encourages innovation in curriculum and teaching methods. However, on the negative side, there are threats to Islamic values due to the growing influence of secular culture. Previous studies suggest that liberalization may lead to a shift in values within Islamic education, necessitating effective adaptation strategies. To address these challenges, Islamic educational institutions need to adopt innovative approaches, such as integrating modern knowledge with Islamic teachings and implementing more interactive learning methods. Additionally, the role of governments and society is crucial in providing policy support and resources to ensure Islamic education remains relevant in the era of liberalization. This study concludes that Islamic education must adapt to changes without losing its identity. With the right strategies, Islamic education can continue to thrive and contribute positively to building a civilization grounded in Islamic values.

Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition is essential for language learning, yet many students in English as foreign language (EFL) contexts struggle with traditional, rote-based instruction that lacks engagement and contextual relevance. This study addresses this gap by developing and evaluating “Lingo Climb”, a game-based vocabulary learning tool inspired by the Snake and Ladder game, tailored for Indonesian elementary school students. Employing the ADDIE model, the study progressed through needs analysis, product development, and evaluation phases. A mixed-method approach was used, incorporating surveys, interviews, observations, and pre and post-tests during small-scale trials involving 24 students and two teachers. Results indicated significant improvements in students’ vocabulary mastery, with teachers and students praising the tool for its cultural relevance, practicality, and ability to foster engagement and collaboration. The findings highlight the potential of "Lingo Climb" as a culturally adapted, game-based learning tool that transforms vocabulary instruction into an engaging experience. While the study demonstrates the effectiveness of non-technological innovation, limitations include the small sample size and short-term trials. This study emphasizes the value of interactive and culturally relevant tools in addressing gaps in traditional vocabulary instruction and advancing gamification in education.

Abstract

Hadis yang disabdakan Rasulullah tentang larangan laki-laki menyerupai perempuan dan begitu pula sebaliknya (tasyabbuh), divisulisasikan oleh Angga Liberty dalam akun media sosialnya sebagai dalil larangan memakai gelang bagi laki-laki. Konten visualisasi tersebut diunggah dalam akun Tik Toknya yang bernama “Animasi Edukasi” dalam bentuk kartun animasi. Visualisasi hadis yang diunggah dalam akun Animasi Edukasi tersebut menuai berbagai kontroversi, karena hadis yang dikutip dan divisualisasikan dalam unggahan akun Tik Tok Animasi Edukasi dengan judul “Bolehkah Laki-Laki Memakai Gelang” dianggap kurang tepat jika dijadikan dalil larangan pemakaian gelang. Tulisan ini bertujuan, mendiskusikan hadis Nabi tentang larangan tashabbuh yang dijadikan dalil larangan pemakaian gelang bagi laki-laki dalam akun Animasi Edukasi yang dikutip dari  kitab hadis Imam al-Bukhariy. Secara umum artikel ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan berbentuk sebuah kajian kepustakan atau library reasearch. diskusi ini akan dilakukan berdasarkan teori resepsi yang kemudian akan dianalisis secara informatif. Analisis informatif merupakan analisis mendalam yang terfokus terhadap matan hadis sebagai titik fokus kajian sehingga dapat ditemukan pemahaman menyeluruh terhadap kandungan suatu teks hadis. penelusuran terhadap teks hadis akan dilakukan secara tekstual dan kontekstual, serta implikasinya ketika digunakan sebagai dalil larangan pemakaian gelang bagi laki-laki. Tulisan ini sampai pada temuan bahwa hadis larangan tasyabbuh tidak semerta-merta dapat dijadikan dalil pengharaman memakai gelang bagi laki-laki tanpa melihat kondisi sosial dan kultur tempat ia tinggal. Gelang dapat dikatakan haram bagi seorang laki-laki ketika kondisi sosial tempat ia tinggal memiliki kultur atau anggapan bahwa gelang adalah perhiasan khusus perempuan.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is very important for elementary school students because it provides a basis for applying mathematics in everyday life. Numeracy literacy requires students to think critically in solving problems. Moreover, elementary school is early childhood education to start getting used to thinking through research and analysis. Researchers use qualitative research in literature studies by reviewing various sources such as books, articles, modules, and final research assignments. The results of the research are that there are several ways to shape the critical thinking character of elementary school students with numeracy literacy, namely 1) using interactive learning models such as project-based learning and problem-based learning; 2) application of numeracy literacy in various classroom activities; and 3) conveying meaningful mathematical values during learning. A teacher can use these three methods optimally, provided that a teacher must also apply numeracy literacy in everyday life. So it will be easier for students to imitate and apply it.

Abstract

Indonesia has characteristics of increasing temperatures that have yet to be widely known. Sudden temperature changes have brought many losses to Indonesians. The study was intended to analyze the level of scientific literacy on the climate-change material for prospective physics teachers in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative methodology. The study also utilized descriptive analysis techniques by administering surveys to gather participant data. This study uses descriptive analysis techniques through the administration of surveys to collect data from participants. Increased emissions of greenhouse gases are a contributing factor to changes in temperature and climate. The escalation of greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia leads to climate change as these gases envelop the Earth and trap the sun's heat, intensifying the greenhouse effect. The outcome entails elevated mean temperatures, alterations in precipitation patterns, and occurrences of severe weather events such as floods and droughts. Evaluating climate or temperature changes necessitates education. Education imparts knowledge about the significance of safeguarding the planet to maintain its well-being. Education plays a crucial role in addressing the challenge of climate change, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Melissa Crouch, Law and Religion in Indonesia: Conflict and the Courts in West Java, (New York: Routledge Contemporary Southeast Asia Series. 2014), xxvi + 214 pages.The effects of Islamization and Christianization have influenced the dynamics of the relationship between Islam and Christianity in Indonesia. For many Muslims, Christianization is perceived as a threat to the future of Indonesian Islam. Christians sense that, especially, the Islamization of public policy, is, likewise, a threat. Law and Religion in Indonesia, written by Melissa Crouch, analyses current data of the relationship between the two largest religions in Indonesia. The book focuses on why tensions between Islam and Christianity—and particularly concerning the issue of Christianization—have emerged as severely as they have since the onset of the democracy period. It analyses how Islamic groups have responded around Christianization. The tensions between the religions have changed with the trend toward the politization of religion. Abstract

Science literacy is very much needed in the future because it encourages students to solve problems and investigate scientifically. However, students' science literacy is currently still low, resulting in environmental ignorance. Students' low science literacy is attempted to be improved by conducting ethnoscience-based science learning by integrating environmental problems, science materials, and scientifically tested community knowledge. This study aims to determine the differences in science literacy abilities in ethnoscience-based science learning. This type of research is Pre Experimental research with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year at SMP Al Hikam Burneh. The research population was all students of class VII. The sample used was class VII-B as many as 22 students who were taken using the Purposive Sampling technique based on teacher recommendations regarding student abilities. The research instrument used was a science literacy test consisting of 6 essay questions. The data collection method used a test. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test. The results of the study obtained (1) the average value of the pretest of students' scientific literacy skills was 53.00 and the posttest was 79.98; and (2) the results of the paired sample t-test were --12,978  2,079  11,878 which showed that students' scientific literacy skills experienced differences after ethnoscience-based science learning. It can be concluded that there are differences in students' scientific literacy skills in ethnoscience-based science learning.

Abstract

Diedarkannya suatu kebijakan dari pemerintah mengenai pembelajaran daring maka guru di tuntut untuk lebih bersikap kreatif dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran sebagai sarana penunjang pembelajaran di masa sekarang ini agar tercipta pembelajaran yang tidak membosankan bagi peserta didik di masa Covid-19. Mengingat strategisnya peran guru dalam pendidikan, apalagi di era global ini, maka kebutuhan akan guru yang berkualitas menjadi sebuah keniscayaan demi masa depan bangsa yang gemilang. Kebutuhan akan guru yang berkualitas yang semakin tinggi saat ini harus disikapi secara positif oleh para pengelola pendidikan guru. Respons positif ini harus ditunjukkan dengan senantiasa meningkatkan mutu program pendidikan yang ditawarkannya. Perbaikan mutu pendidikan pada jenjang pendidikan tinggi ini jelas akan membawa dampak positif bagi penciptaan guru yang berkualitas kelak di kemudian hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini termasuk dalam metode library research dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Di dalam metode penelitian ini ada empat tahap yaitu; pengumpulan data, pertanyaan peneliti, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Dapat disimpulkan, semua pembelajaran yang ada di Belanda dilakukan secara daring, adapun yang dilakukan secara offline hanya 20% dan sifatnya tutorial yang sifatnya lebih kreatif. Terdapat 21 murid yang mencakup SD, SMP, dan SMA. Jumlah gurunya ada 16 ditambah 1 kepsek berarti 17 guru. Untuk program PJJ bagi mahasiswa yang tinggalnya di luar belanda jumlahnya yaitu 140. SD Reguler di SIDH memiliki semua jenjang dari kelas 1 - kelas 6 tetapi satu jenjang bisa jadi 1 siswa atau paling banyak 3-4 siswa. Kurikulum di SIDH menggunakan K13, untuk memudahkan menggunakan buku BSE.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 telah membawa dampak yang cukup besar dalam berbagai bidang seperti bidang pendidikan, bidang perekonomian, bidang industri, bidang pertahanan, bidang politik dan lain sebagainya. Dalam bidang pendidikan proses pembelajaran yang biasanya dilakukan di Sekolah dipindah tempatkan di rumah masing-masing. Maka diperlukan solusi untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut. Pembelajaran secara daring adalah salah satu alternatif yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring di Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (SIKL) dan Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag, Belanda (SIDH) sebagai upaya menekan penyebaran covid-19 di Sekolah. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa dan guru disekolah tersebut. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara Seminar Nasional Program Studi PGMI IAIN Kudus pada tahun 2020 melalui zoom cloud meeting. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode Analisis Kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Siswa telah memiliki fasilitas-fasilitas dasar yang dibutuhkan untuk mengikuti pembelajaran daring; (2) pembelajaran daring memiliki fleksibilitas dalam pelaksanaannya dan mampu mendorong munculnya kemandirian belajar dan motivasi untuk lebih aktif dalam belajar; dan (3) pembelajaran jarak jauh mendorong munculnya perilaku social distancing dan meminimalisir munculnya keramaian siswa sehingga dianggap dapat mengurangi potensi penyebaran Covid-19 di lingkungan sekolah. Lemahnya pengawasan terhadap siswa, kurang kuatnya sinyal di daerah pelosok, dan mahalnya biaya kuota adalah tantangan tersendiri dalam pembelajaran daring.
