Abstract

This study aims to describe how Indonesian students interpret their national identity while also introducing Indonesian culture during their studies abroad. The study is motivated by the phenomenon that cross-cultural experiences can strengthen, change, or challenge students’ understanding of their Indonesian identity. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The study involved five students from a university participating in student exchange and international internship programs in South Korea, Germany, and Thailand. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that national identity is shaped through reflection, social interaction, and cultural exposure in daily life. The students promoted Indonesian culture through moral values, good manners, and professionalism to counter negative stereotypes; by consistently upholding their principles amid cultural differences; and by introducing the Indonesian language, batik, and cuisine. International experiences were found to strengthen national identity through cultural diplomacy, moral awareness, and a sense of responsibility as representatives of the nation.

Abstract

Universities must adapt to 21st-century skills, emphasizing character education to foster holistic student development. This study aimed to enhance students' character of responsibility in the Pancasila course through the Citizenship Project-Based Learning (CPBL) model. Employing the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, the study involved planning, action, observation, and reflection stages, with data collected via observations and questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The CPBL model significantly improved students' ability to take responsibility for individual and group tasks, solve problems, provide solutions, and deliver effective project presentations. Students showcased enhanced critical thinking, teamwork, accountability in task completion, and creative problem-solving, as reflected in group portfolios and video presentations. The learning process fostered higher engagement, collaboration, and the development of a responsible character aligned with Pancasila values. This study highlights the CPBL model's potential as a practical framework for integrating character education into higher education. It strengthens critical thinking and collaboration and equips students with the competencies necessary for societal contribution and national development. The model offers a replicable approach to embedding Pancasila values in educational practices, making it a valuable tool for fostering responsibility and holistic character development in university students.

Abstract

This research aimed to apply the Discovery Learning model as a means of improving student engagement and academic achievement within the Civic Education program. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, conducted over two cycles encompassing the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results revealed that the use of the Discovery Learning model significantly enhanced students’ active participation and learning outcomes. This was demonstrated by an 18% increase in average active participation, rising from 75% in the first cycle, categorized as moderately active, to 93% in the second cycle, which is considered highly active. Additionally, the implementation of Discovery Learning proved effective in boosting students’ academic performance in the Civic Education course, as indicated by a 19% improvement from 76% in the first cycle (fairly good) to 95% in the second cycle.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the problem-solving ability of students in grade VIII.E SMP Negeri 1 Sewon through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. Carried out in three cycles, the results showed an increase in students' average scores from 48% in the pretest to 77% in Cycle III, meeting the target. PBL is effective in improving students' critical thinking, collaboration, and motivation skills. Obstacles faced include lack of student focus and time management. Suggested follow-up includes the development of interactive methods and improved guidance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKn siswa kelas VIII SMP Baitul Quran Cendekia melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe Make a Match. Penelitian menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan McTaggart dengan dua siklus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan persentase capaian, N-gain, dan ketuntasan minimal (KKM ≥ 75) serta analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata kognitif dari 64,00 (pra-siklus) menjadi 81,33 (siklus II), dengan ketuntasan klasikal meningkat dari 33,33% menjadi 86,67%. Aspek afektif dan psikomotorik juga mengalami peningkatan, masing-masing dari 72,50% menjadi 84,17% dan dari 70,83% menjadi 83,33%. Nilai N-gain sebesar 0,48 berada pada kategori sedang. Secara keseluruhan, model Make a Match terbukti efektif meningkatkan kompetensi kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik siswa, serta layak diterapkan pada mata pelajaran lain yang membutuhkan pembelajaran aktif dan kolaboratif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between digital citizenship understanding and ethical behavior of students in using TikTok social media. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involves 66 students of class XII MAN 1 Way Kanan as samples through total sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire developed based on Ribble's (2015) theory for the digital citizenship understanding variable and Martin et al.'s (2018) theory for the ethical behavior variable. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rank correlation test because one of the variables was not normally distributed. The results showed a correlation coefficient of ρ = 0.775 with a significance of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a positive and strong relationship between the two variables. This means that the higher the students' understanding of digital citizenship, the better their ethical behavior in using TikTok. This study concludes that digital citizenship plays an important role in shaping responsible digital behavior. The limitations of this study include the use of a correlational design, a single sample from one madrasah, and self-report data that may contain bias.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas Project-Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis kewarganegaraan ekologis dalam meningkatkan kewarganegaraan ekologis dan kepedulian lingkungan siswa SMA. Kebaruan penelitian terletak pada integrasi kerangka ecological citizenship ke dalam sintaks PjBL serta pengujian simultan kedua variabel hasil pada jenjang SMA. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental melalui Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel terdiri atas 136 siswa kelas X dari dua sekolah, masing-masing 68 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, yang dipilih melalui cluster random sampling. Selama delapan minggu, kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran PjBL berbasis kewarganegaraan ekologis, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional dengan materi setara. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes pemecahan masalah ekologis dan angket Likert 46 item dengan validitas CFA dan reliabilitas Cronbach’s Alpha > 0,88. Analisis menggunakan N-gain dan MANOVA. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kewarganegaraan ekologis sebesar 0,66 pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan 0,32 pada kontrol, sedangkan kepedulian lingkungan meningkat 0,65 dibandingkan 0,28. MANOVA menunjukkan pengaruh simultan yang signifikan (Wilks’ Lambda = 0,412; F(2,133) = 94,85; p < 0,001; ηp² = 0,588). Temuan menegaskan efektivitas PjBL berbasis kewarganegaraan ekologis dalam meningkatkan capaian kognitif-afektif siswa terkait lingkungan. The Effectiveness of Project-Based Learning on Ecological Citizenship and Environmental Concern Among High School Students: A Quasi-Experimental Study This study aims to examine the effectiveness of an ecological citizenship-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach in enhancing the ecological citizenship and environmental awareness of high school students. The study’s novelty lies in integrating the ecological citizenship framework into the PjBL syntax and simultaneously testing both outcome variables at the high school level. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design specifically, a non-equivalent control group design. The sample comprised 136 tenth-grade students from two schools (68 in the experimental group and 68 in the control group), selected via cluster random sampling. Over eight weeks, the experimental group received ecological citizenship-based PjBL instruction, while the control group underwent conventional instruction covering equivalent material. Data were collected using an ecological problem-solving test and a 46-item Likert scale questionnaire, demonstrating CFA validity and Cronbach’s Alpha reliability exceeding 0.88. Analysis was conducted using N-gain and MANOVA. Results showed an increase in ecological citizenship of 0.66 in the experimental group compared to 0.32 in the control group, while environmental awareness increased by 0.65 compared to 0.28. MANOVA results indicated a significant simultaneous effect (Wilks’ Lambda = 0.412; F (2,133) = 94.85; p < 0.001; ηp² = 0.588). These findings confirm the effectiveness of ecological citizenship-based PjBL in enhancing students' cognitive-affective outcomes regarding the environment.
