Abstract

This research recommends areas for establishing junior high schools in Cugenang, Pacet, and Cipanas (3 districts in Cianjur, Indonesia). It uses a descriptive quantitative. The spatial classification and analysis method with the Union feature Geographic Information System (GIS) overlay technique is applied – considering seven parameters: roads, slope, land use, population, fault, landslide danger, and earthquake danger. All of them are used as indicators to determine the suitability of the area. As a result, a map showing areas with five categories is created. Furthermore, in areas with very suitable categories, the researchers provide further testing with Satellite Imagery reviews to validate the coordinates of priority options. The researchers determined forty-nine priority option coordinates in nineteen villages and adapted these into a number script for user convenience. Supporting educational equality as one of the national priorities for 2030, the researchers are proposing these results.

Abstract

The condition of education in Indonesia after the pandemic experienced is getting learning loss or setbacks. The results of the INOVASI study found that early grade students in Indonesia experienced an indication of loss of learning outcomes equivalent to 0.47 standard deviation/sd (or 6 months of learning). This figure is much higher than in the United States (0.14) or China (0. 22). The independent curriculum is the main alternative offered by the government to catch up through driving schools which are pilot projects in implementing this independent curriculum. The implementation of good and appropriate education in schools certainly cannot be separated from the performance of the school principal. This is also a challenge for the government to be able to provide intervention to school principals so that they can become good captains in implementing the independent curriculum. This activity was carried out using the socialization method of the driving school leadership model which was designed based on field studies and relevant literature reviews. Based on the results of the research conducted, there was an increase in understanding, knowledge and skills of private school principals in Sukabumi City in terms of decision making. This is also proven by increasing the education report card scores of educational units within one year. With this activity, it is hoped that school principals will be able to further explore their abilities through Educational Leadership Capacity Building Program

Abstract

This study explores the role of reward and recognition in talent management training at Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (GUFL) and their impact on enhancing graduate competitiveness, particularly in the field of language education. Reward and recognition are recognized as key drivers of individual motivation and performance in training environments. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to gain in-depth insights into the implementation of reward systems in GUFL’s training programs. Data were collected through interviews with 24 educators and 1 student, focusing on experiences with financial rewards, formal recognition, and their perceived effectiveness. Findings indicate that financial rewards significantly boost trainee motivation, while non-financial recognition, such as industry-recognized certifications, increases trainees’ confidence and competitiveness in the global job market. The study also highlights the importance of aligning reward and recognition systems with industry needs and cultural values, particularly within the Southeast Asian context. The results suggest that a well-structured, culturally adaptive, and industry-relevant reward system plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of talent training and in producing globally competitive graduates. Institutions in similar contexts are encouraged to adopt holistic reward strategies that integrate both motivational and professional development elements.

Abstract

This study examines the sources of stress among public school principals in Bogor Regency, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, four principals from junior and senior high schools were interviewed. The findings indicate that significant stressors include interpersonal conflicts with senior teachers and parents, resource shortages especially financial constraints, and high demands from stakeholders for academic and non-academic achievements. Additional stressors specific to the Indonesian context are pressures from pseudo-journalists, the ambiguity of funding regulations, the implementation of the zoning system in student admissions, and mandatory performance evaluations. The study emphasizes the need for policy reforms to provide clearer guidelines, improve financial support, and offer conflict management training. Addressing these stressors is crucial for enhancing principal well-being and promoting effective school leadership. Future research should explore tailored solutions for these unique challenges in Indonesian public schools.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of strategic leadership and work motivation on the performance of lecturers at private universities in Southeast Sulawesi. The research approach uses quantitative methods with descriptive and analytical designs. Data was collected through a survey of 1,067 lecturers and university leaders, then analyzed using statistical methods to identify the relationship between the variables studied. The data analysis technique was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method assisted by AMOS software. This research uses a sampling technique based on the Slovin formula. The main instrument of this research is a structured questionnaire designed to measure research variables using the semantic differential scale. The research results show that strategic leadership has a significant influence on lecturer performance, both directly and through increasing work motivation. Effective strategic leadership is able to create a supportive work environment, increase work morale, and encourage lecturers to behave innovatively. Work motivation was found as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between strategic leadership and lecturer performance. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the development of literature related to strategies for improving lecturer performance in the higher education context, by highlighting the importance of the role of strategic leadership in encouraging lecturer performance. From a practical perspective, these findings offer strategic recommendations for university administrators to integrate strategic leadership and work motivation development programs as part of a strategy to improve lecturer performance.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of campus climate and self-efficacy on the psychological well-being of undergraduate students in Educational Administration at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using SEM-PLS analysis on 50 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring Campus Climate, Self-Efficacy, and Psychological Wellbeing. The analysis included measurement model evaluation through convergent and discriminant validity testing, followed by structural model assessment using SmartPLS 3 software with 5,000 bootstrapping resamples. The convergent validity test results showed that all indicators had outer loading values above 0.5 and met the criteria for discriminant validity based on the Fornell-Larcker method, cross-loading, and the Heterotrait-Monotrait ratio (HTMT < 0.90). The three constructs of Campus Climate (CC), Self-Efficacy (SE), and Psychological Well-Being (PWB) also meet the reliability criteria, with Composite Reliability and Cronbach's Alpha values above 0.70. Major findings revealed that Campus Climate contributed 47.2% to explaining variance in Psychological Well-Being, while Self-Efficacy contributed 25.2%. Hypothesis testing showed a significant relationship between CC to PWB (β = 0.442, p = 0.000), CC to SE (β = 0.502, p value = 0.000), and SE to PWB (β = 0.349, p value = 0.035). These results confirmed that both campus climate and self-efficacy significantly influence students' psychological well-being, with campus climate serving as the stronger predictor. The findings emphasized the critical importance of creating supportive, fair, and inclusive campus environments alongside fostering strong self-efficacy beliefs as fundamental foundations for comprehensively enhancing students' psychological well-being.
