Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in anxiety and mathematics commonly experienced by prospective mathematics teachers. This study involved 25 respondents from the Mathematics Education Study Program. This study used a quantitative descriptive analysis approach and collected data in March 2025 using a digital questionnaire with a Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, including percentages, were used to analyze the data. Based on the study findings, female teachers were more anxious than their male counterparts, especially in terms of emotional pressure, teaching readiness, and understanding of gender roles in the classroom. These results indicate that both groups exhibit high levels of self-confidence, despite differences in anxiety levels based on gender. Therefore, to optimally prepare prospective mathematics teachers, teacher education programs should include techniques for managing anxiety in teaching. The small sample size and limited number of respondents are the main limitations of this study.

Abstract

Low student engagement in mathematics learning remains a serious challenge in various schools and universities in Banten Province. Although the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) strategy is recognised as effective in promoting active participation and conceptual understanding, its implementation in the field is uneven and lacks contextual evidence. This study aims to analyse the perceptions of mathematics teachers and lecturers regarding the implementation of TPS, specifically in terms of anticipated benefits, obstacles experienced, and opportunities for classroom implementation. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected through a survey of 26 respondents who offered to participate in the study. The instrument was a closed questionnaire with five Likert scales with 45 statement points covering nine indicators of TPS implementation. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, which involved calculating the average score for each indicator and creating a frequency distribution. The results showed that respondents generally had a positive perception of TPS, particularly in fair students’ understanding of mathematical concepts and communication skills. However, the main obstacles involved limited implementation time and diversity in student participation. Some respondents also mentioned the lack of practical training and the difficulty in adapting strategies to the characteristics of the class. Although the sample size is limited, this study makes an initial contribution to understanding the dynamics of TPS implementation in the local context. It is recommended that teacher training focus on the technical aspects of TPS implementation and be accompanied by flexible and context-based guidance to support the effectiveness of cooperative learning in mathematics classes.

Abstract

AR and VR are forms of technology that present a more engaging way of learning, making students feel genuinely involved in the subject matter. Especially in social studies learning at the junior high school level, by bringing digital elements into the real environment, as if the two were one and could be seen or touched directly. At the same time, VR creates a three-dimensional virtual environment in which AR and VR can be explored in real time using devices such as Oculus glasses. This study aims to examine the implementation of AR and VR-based Google Expeditions in social studies learning and to determine the extent to which this technology can encourage students to think critically about social issues. In addition, this study examines the effectiveness and problems arising from the application of the technology. The approach used in this study is qualitative, with data collected through the analysis of Scientific Articles. The results of this study indicate that AR and VR technology are pretty helpful in facilitating insight and understanding, thereby deepening the material. However, the teachers still have to deal with issues like inadequate technical assistance and training, however. Therefore, for the implementation of this technology in the educational process to function smoothly and sustainably, suitable strategies and adequate education are required.

Abstract

This study explores the experiences of social studies students in using digital libraries, focusing on accessibility, user satisfaction, content relevance, and technical challenges. Through a mixed-method approach involving questionnaires, interviews, and observations with 50 participants, the research reveals that digital libraries significantly enhance students' academic engagement, information literacy, and research productivity. Most students reported positive experiences in terms of access and interface usability, especially in using Perpusnas (Indonesia’s National Digital Library). However, persistent challenges such as limited full-text availability, slow internet speeds, and the need for improved user guidance continue to hinder optimal usage. The study concludes that addressing technical issues and curating discipline-specific content are vital for improving the efficiency and inclusivity of digital libraries. These findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on digital transformation in education, emphasizing the need for strategic development in digital library services tailored to specific academic fields.

Abstract

To enhance students' comprehension of mathematical problem solving, particularly when learning Basic Statistics, this project intends to apply the methodology of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This research was conducted quantitatively, with data collected through posttest and pre-test-based experiments. The study results stated that students taught using the RME method showed stronger critical thinking abilities than students taught with the conventional method. In particular, students taught using the RME method showed a discernible grade rise. Based on the questionnaire responses, 80% of students stated that learning by linking mathematics to real life makes learning more effective and enjoyable. As a result, the combined posttest and pretest tests demonstrated here demonstrate the RME approach's beneficial effects. This supports the finding that RME enhances students' comprehension and addresses problems by relating math ideas with real scenarios.
