Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia continues to increase, characterized by increased blood pressure due to vasoconstriction of blood vessels. Hypertension management can be carried out through non-pharmacological approaches, including complementary therapies such as tomato juice. This study aims to identify and analyze research articles on the effect of tomato juice on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The study design used a literature review. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed databases, with a search period of 2015–2025. A total of 12 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The review results showed that administering tomato juice at a dose of 150–250 grams per day for 1-4 weeks contributed to a reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the range of 1-10 mmHg. This effect is related to the content of lycopene, bioflavonoids, and potassium, which have antioxidant and vasodilatory activities. Although the majority of studies showed benefits, variations in design, intervention duration, and sample characteristics between studies indicate the need for cautious interpretation of the results and the need for research with more robust methodology. In conclusion, tomato juice has potential as a supportive non-pharmacological intervention to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. However, these findings require further study through more standardized experimental studies before being widely integrated into primary healthcare practice.

Abstract

Abstract

Marriage in Islam is a sacred bond that is not only biological and social in nature but also carries spiritual and educational dimensions; however, in practice, many young people enter marriage without adequate preparedness, leading to various household problems. This article aimed to analyze the concept of marital readiness among young people from the perspective of Islamic educational psychology. This study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method through analysis of primary and secondary sources, including the Qur’an, hadith, books, and relevant scholarly articles. The findings indicate that marital readiness in the perspective of Islamic educational psychology encompasses integrated psychological, emotional, social, economic, and spiritual readiness. Islamic education plays an important role in shaping personality maturity, emotional regulation, understanding of Islamic values, and awareness of moral responsibilities in married life. Thus, marital readiness is understood not merely as readiness in terms of age or material resources, but as the outcome of an ongoing process of value education. This article is expected to provide a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic educational psychology studies and to serve as a practical reference for premarital guidance and counseling for young people.Marital Readiness; Young People; Islamic Educational Psychology; Islamic Education; Premarital Guidance

Abstract

Children with special needs (Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus, ABK) are individuals who possess distinct characteristics and learning needs, and therefore require an educational approach that is adaptive, humanistic, and just. This article aims to examine the concept of ABK from the perspective of Islamic Educational Psychology by exploring the integration between educational psychology approaches and Islamic values in the educational process, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing various relevant sources related to the psychological development of children with special needs, inclusive education, and the principles of Islamic education. The findings show that educational psychology provides a scientific foundation for understanding the cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioral development of ABK, while Islam views ABK as creations of Allah who possess fitrah, dignity, and equal rights to education, with an emphasis on compassion, justice, and aligning education with the child’s abilities. The integration of these two perspectives yields a holistic educational approach that is not only oriented toward academic achievement but also toward strengthening spirituality, shaping moral character, and fostering the independence of children with special needs. Consequently, Islamic Religious Education needs to be designed adaptively through adjustments in content, methods, and evaluation in accordance with students’ needs and capabilities.

Abstract

Religious conversion is a complex and multidimensional socio-religious phenomenon because it involves changes in belief, religious identity, and value orientation in an individual’s life, which, in a plural society, is understood not only as a theological issue but is also closely related to psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual aspects. This study aimed to describe the definition and meaning of religious conversion, examine the processes experienced by individuals in undergoing religious conversion, identify the factors that influence it, and analyze Islamic perspectives on this phenomenon. The method used was a literature review by examining various scholarly works, expert opinions, and normative Islamic sources in the form of the Qur’an and hadiths. The findings show that religious conversion generally unfolds through stages of awareness, meaning-seeking, and decision-making, which are influenced by individuals’ psychological conditions, social environment, culture, and spiritual experiences. From an Islamic perspective, religious conversion is viewed as a fundamental matter of aqidah, in which freedom of religion is acknowledged, but faith and steadfastness in Islam are strongly emphasized. Therefore, the phenomenon of religious conversion needs to be understood comprehensively and proportionally so as not to generate social conflict and to ensure that religious and humanitarian values are respected.

Abstract

Psychology plays an important role in Islamic education as a foundation for understanding students holistically from cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions, so that the learning process is not only oriented toward knowledge transfer but also toward personality development. This study aimed to examine the role of psychology in Islamic education from a theoretical perspective and its implications for the learning process. A library research method was employed by analyzing various scientific journals published over the last ten years that are relevant to the theme of Islamic educational psychology. The findings show that the integration of Islamic values and modern psychological theories can foster a learning process that is holistic, humanistic, and oriented toward character formation. Islamic educational psychology contributes to curriculum development, the enhancement of learning motivation, and the development of students’ emotional and spiritual intelligence. Thus, an Islamic psychological approach constitutes an essential foundation for realizing Islamic education that is not only oriented toward knowledge acquisition, but also toward moral development and the personality balance of students.

Abstract

Human beings are created by Allah SWT with the primary purpose of worshipping and devoting themselves to Him as ‘Abdullah, endowed with fundamental potentials in the form of ruh, nafs, akal, qolb, and fitrah that are intrinsically integrated. This article aims to conceptually examine the roles and functions of these five potentials in shaping human beings who are able to actualize complete servitude to Allah. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review based on the Al-Qur’an, Hadith, and the thought of classical and contemporary Muslim scholars and intellectuals. The findings show that ruh functions as the source of spiritual life, nafs as the dynamic of the soul that must be controlled, akal as the instrument of reasoning within the framework of revelation, qolb as the center of moral and spiritual consciousness, and fitrah as an innate purity that directs human beings toward tauhid. The balanced integration and management of these five potentials constitute the key for humans to actualize themselves as true ‘Abdullah. These findings underscore the importance of holistic Islamic education in developing the entirety of human potential in order to achieve balance among physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

Readiness for marriage is a multidimensional construct encompassing psychological, emotional, spiritual, social, and economic maturity which, from the perspective of Islamic Educational Psychology, is understood not only as physical and psychological readiness but also as readiness in terms of morals (akhlak), faith (iman), and social responsibility in accordance with shari‘ah guidelines. This article aims to analyze the concept of marital readiness through the lenses of general psychology and Islamic Educational Psychology, and to explain how Islamic education contributes to shaping personal maturity prior to entering married life. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using a literature review of relevant works on marital readiness, developmental psychology, and Islamic education. The findings show that marital readiness in Islamic Educational Psychology comprises five main dimensions: (1) psychological maturity; (2) the ability to regulate emotions; (3) spiritual readiness; (4) social maturity; and (5) continuous moral education. The implications of this study underscore the crucial role of family education and Islamic educational institutions in instilling Islamic values, emotional regulation skills, and interpersonal competencies as an integrative provision for Muslim individuals before entering married life.
