Abstract

The active substances contained in date extract such as flavonoids, steroids, phenols and saponins have an anti-diabetic function which is useful in controlling glycemic and fat in diabetes patients. Perimenopause is a poorly defined period of time that surrounds the final years of a woman's reproductive life, usually between the ages of 30 and 40. Insulin affects many hormones, including sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone). This hormonal imbalance can disrupt the balance of other hormones. In the basic principles of bioethics there are four aspects, namely beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy and justice. Maqashid Al Shariat contains 5 values, namely Hifz ad din, hifz an nafs, hifz al maal, hifz al nasl, and hifz al aql. In the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, it consists of five rules, namely Al Ageu bi Maqashida, La dharara wa laa dirara,, Al masyaqqah tajlibut, Al yaqinu la yuzalu bi syaq, and Al adatu muhakkamah. A 46 year old woman G1P1A0 Gravid 34 weeks with a history of regular menstruation every month. Blood pressure 110/80 mmHg with BMI 30.24 (Obes 2). The results of the fasting blood sugar examination were found to be 130 mg/dl. The diagnosis in this patient is diabetes mellitus. The treatment given to this patient is a regulated eating pattern and implementation of a diet pattern. In the bioethical perspective, it fulfills the non-maleficence aspect, the principles of fiqh are Al iau bi maqashida, La dharara wa laa dirara, and Al adatu muhakkamah.

Abstract

During perimenopause, there can be a decrease in estrogen production, which indicates the end of a woman’s reproductive years. The production of the hormone estrogen that continues to decrease will cause hypercholesterolemia. Decrease in LDL cholesterol levels can be increased by giving antioxidant properties, which are rich in vitamin C and contain flavanoids and phenolics that function as antioxidants. The method used in this study is Literature Review with Design Narrative Review. The result from the literature it was found the effect of giving ajwa dates (Phoenix Dactylifera L) before and after administration showed a change, namely a decrease in LDL levels after giving ajwa dates. This is because ajwa dates contain flavanoids, phenolics, and plant sterols that function as antioxidant that can prevent the formation of lipid peroxidation. The conclusion based on the results of the literature review, it can be concluded that giving ajwa dates to perimenopause women decreased LDL levels where ajwa dates have antioxidant functions to prevent lipid peroxidation to reduce LDL. The suggestion from the study is necessary to conduct further research on the effect of consumption of ajwa dates on LDL levels in perimenopause women using experimental methods of pretest and posttest design.

Abstract

Based on the 2016 Riskesdas, the prevalence of high cholesterol in Indonesia among women aged 35-59 years was 52.9%, and among those aged ≥60 years, it was 58.7%. According to provincial data, the highest percentage of patients with high cholesterol levels at Posbindu and FKTP in Indonesia was in West Papua Province, reaching up to 70%. The concentration of cholesterol levels in women's blood tends to increase with age, particularly for those over 40 years old, due to hormonal factors, especially the decrease in estrogen production and function. The decline in estrogen levels leads to an increase in lipids or total cholesterol, resulting in changes in body fat composition associated with hypercholesterolemia. This case report aims to investigate the impact of consuming Ajwa dates on the total cholesterol levels of perimenopausal women. Results: Ajwa dates contain higher polyphenol concentrations with an impressive nutritional profile that enhances blood lipoproteins. Additionally, dates can increase estrogen levels due to the estradiol and estrone present in their pollen. Several experimental studies have shown a significant difference in total cholesterol levels in subjects before and after consuming Ajwa dates. Conclusion: There is a notable difference in total cholesterol levels before and after the administration of Ajwa dates.

Abstract

Perimenopause, certain hormone levels begin to decrease, especially hormones related to female reproduction, namely the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen deficiency can cause complaints such as urinary tract infections. The neutrophil lymphocyte ratio is a laboratory parameter that has the potential to be a predictor of bloodstream infection or bacteremia in patients with suspected infection. then bacterial infection can cause systemic inflammation characterized by fever. The high content of polyphenols, flavonoids and flavones contained in Ajwa dates. One of the high levels of flavonoids in dates is a good anti-inflammatory agent. Ajwa extract which contains ethyl acetate, methanolic and water can inhibit the lipid peroxidase enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2).

Abstract

Circumcision is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin (prepuce) covering the glans penis. This procedure is typically performed to eliminate smegma, which results from the accumulation of fluids in the foreskin area, causing unpleasant odor and increasing the risk of infection. In Islam, circumcision is a religious practice exemplified since the time of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him. This literature review discusses circumcision from both a medical and Islamic perspective. The findings indicate that circumcision is performed based on medical indications such as phimosis, paraphimosis, and balanitis, both as a treatment and as a preventive measure against recurrence. Additionally, circumcision has been linked to a reduced risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and HIV transmission. In Islamic terminology, circumcision is referred to as khitan. It is strongly grounded in Islamic jurisprudence and is regarded as a significant practice for Muslim males. Circumcision is effective in reducing the incidence of phimosis, paraphimosis, balanitis, as well as the risks of UTIs and HIV transmission. In Islam, khitan is considered part of human nature (fitrah) and is deemed obligatory (wājib) by some schools of thought, while others regard it as a highly recommended (sunnah muakkadah) practice.
