Abstract

This research is driven by the challenges teachers face in designing learning tools aligned with the 2013 curriculum. The purpose of this study is to develop mathematics learning tools based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students' mathematical communication skills, ensuring these tools are both valid and practical. The developed learning tools include a syllabus, Lesson Plan, and Student Worksheets. The development process follows the 4-D model, which consists of the stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The subjects of this study were 35 students from class XI at SMAN 5 Tapung. Research instruments included validation sheets to assess the feasibility and validity of the learning tools and student response questionnaires to evaluate the practicality of the student worksheets. The analysis of validation data revealed that the mathematics learning tools are highly valid, with an average rating of 94% for the syllabus, 95% for the lesson plan, and 92% for the student worksheets. The practicality data analysis showed that the student response ratings categorized the tools as very practical, with an average rating of 88.37%.

Abstract

This research is aimed at developing computer-based media formathematics learning. This media used interactive model to help studentsunderstand the topic of lines, angles and rectangular. This developmentresearch applied development model by Borg and Gallmodified bySugiyono. The study began by finding the potentials materials and itsproblems followed by astudy of literature. The subject in this research isline, angle and rectangular, including rectangle, square and trapezium.Product design was done through two stages: paper-based design   andcomputer-based. The applications used for product design are MicrosoftFrontpage, Microsoft Power Point and Photoshop. Learning media werevalidated by three experts or validators and were revised based on the inputfrom the validators. The revised learning media were tested on two stages: asmall group test consisting of five respondens and a large grouptestconsisting of forty respondens. Based on the analysis of data and discussion,it can be concluded that computer-based mediafor mathematics learning isvalid with an average score of 3.17 on aspect of materials and 3.18 fromaspects of media. This computer-based media formathematicslearning alsohad practicalities with an average score of  97,92% on a small group test and99,22% in the large group test.

Abstract

The results of the preliminary study indicate that the learning tools used by the teacher do not meet the 2013 curriculum rules. This study aims to produce learning tools with the application of discovery learning to improve Mathematical Problem Solving Ability (KPMM) on social arithmetic materials for grade VII junior high school. This study used the Borg and Gall development model with stages: (1) research and data collection; (2) planning; (3) development of learning tools; (4) limited trials; (5) product revisions; (6) field trials; (7) product revisions; (8) final product test; (9) revision of the final product; and (10) dissemination and implementation. The validation results showed that it was very valid with consecutive average percentages for KPMM problems that were 94.64%, syllabus was 90.10%, RPP was 93.14%, and LKPD was92.60%. In the final product test phase, learning tools wereused through pre-experimental research to see the increase in KPMM. The final product test results indicated that there was an increase in KPMM of students using learning tools. This means that the learning tool with the application of discovery learning in social arithmetic material in class VII SMP has been valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of learning tools that can improve students' Mathematical Communication Skills (KKM). Activities that can encourage students to improve KKM have not been designed by the teacher in the learning device properly. This study aims to produce learning tools by applying Problem Based Learning models to improve KKM. This development research used the ADDIE development model with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of Syllabus, RPP, LKPD and KKM validation results showed highly valid criteria with percentages of91.67%, 91.30%, 89.09%, and 87.15%, respectively.Practicality results indicate a very practical criterion with the percentage of small group trials at 95.57%, large group trials at 96.07%, and teacher responses at 96.25%. The effectiveness test results state that KKM of students who use learning tools with PBL models is better than KKM of students who use conventional learning.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the still limited learning of mathematics as a means of supporting learning in the 2013Curriculum. The purpose of this study was to produce some products in the form of learning devices (syllabus, RPP andLKPD) on the material for the flat side building of VIII Middle School with discovery learning models that meet valid, practical, and effective criteria for improving students mathematical critical thinking skills. Learning tools are developed using the 4-D model, which are define, design, develop and assess. The research instrument used was an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, RPP and LKPD as well as a practical instrument in the form of a teacher observation sheet activity in applying the discovery learning model and student questionnaire responses to assess the practicality of LKPD. The results of the validation of the experts stated that the product developed reached a valid category with an average rating of 76.67% for syllabus, 76.67% for RPP and 88.04% for LKPD. Learning devices are considered very practical in small group trials with an average response of 96.44% students and large group trials from the observation sheet of teacher activity 93.71% and the average response of students87.77%. The learning tools have been proved to improvestudents mathematical critical thinking skills in terms of an average N-gain of 0.53 in the medium category.

The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. Validation is carried out by four validators who are experts in their fields. A limited trial was conducted on 16 students of SMP Mutiara Harapan Pangkalan Kerinci. Students are divided into two groups, consisting of students with high, medium, and low abilities. Each group tries two learning media. From the results of data processing, it was found that the average validation of learning media on the media aspect was 3.47 with very valid criteria and the material aspect was 3.53 with very valid criteria. This means that all aspects of the device in the learning media developed are related consistently. While the average percentage obtained from the student response questionnaire in the limited trial was 90.59% with very practical criteria. This means that the learning media developed can be used in learning activities. It can be concluded that the learning media developed are valid and practical.

Abstract

The ability of students to think critically in mathematics is is still low. The lack of learning tools that are considered to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills is one of the cause it. The purpose of this study was to develop a mathematics learning tool with a quality problem-based learning (PBM) model to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The learning tools developed consisted of a syllabus, lesson plans (RPP) and student worksheets (LKPD) on the matrix material for class X SMK. This research was a development research using the Borg and Gall model. The development consists of six stages, namely: 1) research and data collection; 2) planning; 3) development of the initial product draft; 4) initial field trials; 5) revised trial results; and 6) dissemination and implementation. The subject of this research trial was the students of SMK Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. The instrument used was validation instrument for the syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheet. Based on the results of the validation data analysis, it shows that the learning tools developed were very valid. The results of the validation of the syllabus were 85.11; the average RPP score was 86.02; and the average LKPD score was 86.40. The average student response questionnaire to the initial field trial was 85.93 with the very practical category. The learning device developed was valid and practical for use by class X SMK students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of LKPD that provides steps that can guide students to understand the concept of material and the designed model is not appropriate to construct students' knowledge independently and there are no contextual problems that cause lack of interaction between students. LKPD will be more optimal if it is based on a learning model that teaches how to solve a problem. With the LKPD Problem Based Learning Model (PBM) students can gain learning experiences that teach real skills, investigation, and problem solving. The purpose of this study was to produce student worksheets (LKPD) through the application of the problem-based learning model (PBM) of SD Negeri 163 Pekanbaru students on circle material. This type of research is development research using the Borg & Gall model. The instruments in this study were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The results of the study showed that the validity test of three validators on the syllabus was 91% with very valid criteria. While the practicality test for LKPD with a response questionnaire to six students showed an average percentage of 90.52% with the very practical category.
