Abstract

Stigma has become one of the aspects closely associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), causing adverse effects for those affected. The primary goal of this scoping review is to identify various intervention models aimed at reducing HIV-related stigma. This review follows the PRISMA 2015 guidelines and utilizes sources from three online journal databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Scopus. Search criteria include articles published in the last five years, from 2018 to 2023. Out of the initially retrieved 1,084 articles, 9 articles meeting inclusion criteria were selected for a more in-depth review. Most interventions typically employ a mix of strategies, incorporating diverse degrees of social-ecological involvement. Interventions employing dual strategies and extended durations with multiple sessions have the potential to more effectively reduce stigma. Supporting HIV-safe spaces and encouraging community involvement to understand the link between HIV stigma and the spread of HIV/AIDS in their surroundings can effectively reduce HIV stigma. Overall, most studies included in this review indicate fairly satisfactory outcomes. However, when implementing interventions, it remains crucial to tailor them to the specific location, considering that stigma is a social construct. The development of instruments to measure intervention effectiveness needs to be pursued to comprehensively identify significant intervention impacts.

Abstract

Dating has become a trend in today's youth. Psychological conditions are still unstable and are one of the triggers for violence among adolescents, and in general, female adolescents become victims. However, the female adolescents maintained the relationship. Therefore, this study aimed to conduct a phenomenological study of dating violence among female adolescents. This research is included in the type of qualitative research. Data were obtained from five key informants and five triangular informants who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using 14 questions items submitted using the In-depth Interview technique. The interview results were transcribed using computer aided qualitative data analysis software. Based on the results of the interviews, dating is a form of self-actualization to get love and to exist among adolescents. They hope the current partner can become a life partner when they have a family. This is their reason for tolerating physical, psychological, or sexual violence perpetrated by their partner. So, female adolescents are aware that they experience violence. However, they could not avoid it because they hoped their current partner would become a life partner These results confirm the urgency for adolesence dating violence (ADV) program implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Although it has proven to be helpful, the attendance of pregnant mothers in Antenatal Classes (AC) was still low, so an ineffective breakthrough application of AC was needed according to the mother's wishes and interests. Objective: The study aimed to compare various models of practical AC for pregnant mothers to improve behavior prevention of high-risk pregnancies.Method: This study is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group and pre-posttest design. The population of all pregnant mothers in Semarang City, with 181 samples, was divided into three groups (Extended, Virtual and Conventional). Measurements were carried out four times to see the mean score increasing, and the results of the last measurement were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test to compare the effectiveness of these three groups. Results: There was an increase in the mean value of all dimensions of the behavior of high-risk prevention based on its measurement stages. The extended model has the highest improvement, followed by the Virtual model. Statistically, there was a better chance in all behavioral dimensions after the intervention. There were differences in all dimensions of maternal behavior between the extended and the conventional model. In contrast, only knowledge and practice differed in the virtual model but not in attitudes, beliefs, and intentions. Conclusion: Extended and virtual models of AC effectively improved high-risk prevention behaviors better than conventional models. Although the increase was not as high as the extended model, the virtual model has an excellent opportunity to be developed as a strategy to overcome time constraints for mothers and health providers.

Abstract

Having premarital sexual intercourse has a broad risk impact on health. This is in accordance with the teachings of Islam that should be upheld by all Muslims, with no exception for students living in Islamic boarding schools. To Islamic values and culture, students should have strong self-efficacy to prevent them from engaging in sexual behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on the sexual behavior of students living in Islamic boarding schools. This cross-sectional study sampled 150 students who lived in Islamic boarding school in Semarang, Indonesia. Students at Islamic boarding schools who had premarital sex were more likely to be found in adolescents aged 19 years (15.2%), male (9.5%), had low self-efficacy (18.2%), and ever accessed pornography (23.1%). Accessing pornography was influenced by sex (p = 0.021, OR = 0.235), while premarital sexual intercourse behavior was influenced by age (p = 0.013, OR = 10.716) and self-efficacy (p = 0.043, OR = 4.602). Younger students with low self-efficacy are more likely to practice premarital sexual intercourse. This study found that accessing pornography had no effect on the practice of sex carried out by students in Islamic boarding schools. The health ministry needs to work with the religious affairs ministry to design programs aimed at increasing self-efficacy among students in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The Law on Marriage has been amended, but the prevalence of child marriage has not been reduced significantly. Grobogan is one of the areas with the highest prevalence of married and pregnant women at child age (less than 19 years) in Central Java, and is always above the national prevalence. During 2018 the prevalence of cases reached 59.88%, in 2019 it was 51.24%, in 2020 it was 52.81%, in 2021 it was 54.33%, and in 2022 it was 52.15%. Marriage of women at child age becomessocial phenomena that often occur in society. This research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. The research uses a purposive sampling technique, namelyof all women who married at the age of less than 19 years in Grobogan district in the last 5 years (2018-2022), namely 2,676 cases. Data were analyzed to describe trends in cases and motives for marriage between women as children, as well as bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test to analyze the relationship between parents' marital history and children's marriages. The results of the research are that cases of child marriage (less than 19 years old) are more common among girls. Women are the ones who mostly marry under the age of 19. The most common cause (76.8%) underlying applications for marriage dispensation is dating behavior. Based on the pattern of child marriage couples that occurred in the last 5 years in Grobogan district, the most frequent marriages were women aged children (less than 19 years) marrying men aged adults (more than 19 years), namely 82.5%, there were 15.5 % of marriages that occurred between women and men who were both under 19 years of age, there were 1.8% of marriages that occurred between adult women (over 19 years) and men under 19 years of age, and 3 couples (0 .1%) married when both were 19 years old. There is a significant relationship between mothers' marital history and child marriages that occur in their daughters (p value 0.0002). This means that mothers who marry at a young age (less than 19 years) influence the occurrence of child marriage in their daughters.
