Abstract

COVID-19 vaccination began in Indonesia in January 2021, with a minimum target coverage of 70% of the population. The government has delivered four doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, but doses three and four have yet to meet the target. Public acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccination has varied due to the speed of the introduction and implementation of this vaccination. Meanwhile, basic information about the factor’s influencing acceptance has yet to be widely known. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sociodemographics and COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in Notoprajan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was used for this analytic survey. The population is 4,726 people, and the sample size is 355 people. People between the ages of 17 and 55 were eligible, as were those who had lived in Notoprajan, Ngampilan District, Yogyakarta, for at least three months. The data were analyzed using descriptive and bivariate analysis with a 95% confidence level (α=0.05) using the Chi-square statistical test. Among the six observed variables, namely age, gender, education, occupation, religion, and knowledge level, only sex significantly correlates with COVID-19 vaccine acceptance. This research indicates that to increase COVID-19 vaccination, related parties need to target women directly. This is because men received 1.47 times the COVID-19 vaccination from this study compared to women.

Abstract

Introduction: In mid-2022, a Central Statistics Agency (BPS) survey reported that Indonesian people's compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures ranged between 70-84%. Many studies have also measured preventive behavior in urban areas but are still limited to rural areas. The information exposure of rural communities can be much different from that of urban communities, facilitated by technological developments. Aims: This research looked at COVID-19 prevention behavior in rural settings, which is essential to support targeted prevention programs. Methods: This study employed a quantitative study design with an analytical observational design through a cross-sectional approach. Residents aged 17 to 55 were recruited in Giri Agung Village, Sebulu, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. Chi-square and Binary Logistic Regression were used to analyze the data. Result: This research found a significant association between gender (p-value=0.002), education (p-value=0.003), knowledge (p-value=0.008), and attitudes (p-value=0.001) toward COVID-19 prevention measures. We discovered that education level most influenced prevention measures in binary logistic regression. Conclusions: Knowledge is one of the most critical factors in realizing action because it can build trust to perceive reality, make decisions, and determine actions to be taken on an object

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic condition causing elevated blood glucose levels, leading to microvascular and macrovascular consequences. It is a leading cause of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Diabetes causes diabetic nephropathy, which is the leading cause of end-stage renal disease. The urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) is a clinically used tool to evaluate albuminuria and prevent the progression of diabetic nephropathy. ACR measurements are predictive markers for renal outcomes, cardiovascular outcomes, and mortality in diabetics. Microalbuminuria, a condition characterized by 30 to 300 mg/g in spot urine, is an independent predictor of coronary artery disease, cardiovascular disease, and all-cause mortality. This systematic review aimed to understand the role of ACR (albumin creatinine ratio) urine in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus based on the published article. Method: The systematic review followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and used databases ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Sage Journal to search for articles on urinary albumin creatinine ratio in type 2 diabetes mellitus. The search used keyword, inclusion and exclusion criteria to screen the article. 10 articles met our criteria and were included in this research. Results: ACR (albumin creatinine ratio) levels are linked to cardiovascular risk in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM), and high UACR (urinary albumin creatinine ratio levels are linked to an increased risk of CKD (chronic kidney diseases). The patient's diabetes duration also impacts ACR levels. The KDI is a composite of eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate) and ACR risk variables with a clear linear relationship with all three outcomes. It may aid in the identification of high-risk individuals who will benefit the most from prophylactic medications. Conclusion: Patients should be taught how better blood glucose and albuminuria control might help delay the progression of CKD. The male sex is protective; however, most female patients were postmenopausal with low estrogen levels, eliminating any potential renoprotective advantage. Dipsticks may be used for UACR testing, making it more convenient.

Abstract

Background: Obesity is influenced by complex interactions between environmental, genetic, and behavioural factors. This study aims to explore the relationship between these three factors and the incidence of childhood obesity. Method: A systematic literature review was used following PRISMA guidelines. The data were collected from three main databases: Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda. Screening was carried out from 89 articles found until 10 relevant articles were obtained for analysis. Results: The analysis shows that childhood obesity is influenced by genetic factors, behaviour (including eating habits and physical activity), and environment (such as access to healthy food and sports facilities). These three factors interact to increase the risk of obesity. Conclusion: This study emphasizes that obesity prevention requires a multidisciplinary approach that involves the roles of family, school, government, and community. Recommended efforts include improving access to nutritious food, education on healthy lifestyles, and creating an environment that supports physical activity. The findings provide important insights for designing more effective interventions to address obesity in primary school-aged children.

Abstract

Chrysanthemum waste compost fertilizer is an alternative to processing chrysanthemum waste, which has so far only been piled up on land and has yet to be processed into appropriate technology. The effectiveness of compost fertilizer was tested on shallots because this commodity is promising in every planting season. This study aims to determine the appropriate dose of chrysanthemum waste compost to produce optimum growth and yield of shallot plants. This research was conducted in Tidu Village, Pohjentrek District, Pasuruan Regency, at an altitude of ±12.5 masl from June to August 2022. The study used a randomized block design with 1 factor of four treatments and six replications. The treatment are P0 (without adding chrysanthemum waste compost as control), P1: (5ton ha-1 dose of chrysanthemum waste compost), P2 (10ton ha-1 chrysanthemum waste compost dose), and P3 (15ton ha-1 chrysanthemum waste compost dose). The results showed that applying 15 tons ha-1 of chrysanthemum waste compost gave the highest yield on tuber weight of 18.34 tons ha-1. It can be concluded that chrysanthemum waste compost influences the growth and yield of shallots. Applying chrysanthemum plant waste compost of 10 tons ha-1 showed optimal growth and yield of shallot plants. The dry weight of the resulting wind is 17.67 tons ha-1. This result exceeded the potential yield of the tubers of the varieties used, which ranged from 12-16 tons ha-1.
