Abstract

The article aims to describe Inch reasoning which becomes a process to collect the evidences consciously and to relate between knowledge and experience in order to explain what has been seen, thought, and concluded. Thus, critical thinking becomes one of reasoning types. It is also a process for someone to answer difficult questions which cannot be answered in time rationally. There were eight functions that cannot be separated each other and become the indicators of critical thinking. They are Question at issue, Purpose, Information, Concepts, Assumptions, Points of View, Interpretation and inference, Implication and consequences. Abstract

Macroscopic fungi are an important component of a forest ecosystem, acting as natural decomposers and supporting nutrient cycles. The Campus Forest Area of ​​the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi has a supportive environment for the growth of various macroscopic fungal species, but information regarding the diversity of these macroscopic fungi is still very limited. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the diversity of macroscopic fungi in the campus forest area. The method used in this study was exploration with direct observation techniques and documentation of samples found at several points in the research location. Identification of macroscopic fungi was carried out by observing morphological characteristics including fruiting body shape, size, color, hymenophore type, and the substrate where they live. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that the campus forest area of ​​the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi is covered by various types of macroscopic fungi belonging to several diverse families and genera. Several types of fungi were found growing on decaying wood substrates, dead tree trunks, leaf litter, and moist soil. The presence of macroscopic fungi in this area is influenced by various factors, such as temperature, humidity, and the availability of organic matter. This research is expected to provide a baseline source of information on macroscopic fungal diversity and the development of biodiversity research on campus.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of madrasah principals in improving librarian training in the field of information technology. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, and data were collected through in-depth interviews with the madrasah principal and librarian. The findings reveal five key aspects: (1) the madrasah principal applies a participatory planning approach, though without a formal training needs analysis mechanism; (2) support is provided through technology infrastructure procurement and motivation, but facilities are not exclusively allocated for the library and no specific budget exists for librarian competency development; (3) training relies on online platforms and external activities with low frequency, with no internally organized training by the madrasah; (4) key constraints include disparities in human resource adaptation to new technologies, infrastructure limitations, and low training frequency that hinder the transfer of training; and (5) evaluation remains observational and based on physical indicators that do not directly reflect improvements in librarian technology competency, with no structured post-training follow-up mechanism. This study recommends adopting a comprehensive evaluation framework such as the CIPP model to build a complete competency development cycle, increasing the frequency of face-to-face training, encouraging librarian competency certification, allocating a dedicated budget for library human resource development, and improving technology facilities to ensure optimal and sustainable implementation of training outcomes.

Abstract

Jamur tiram putih atau yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Pleurotus ostreatus merupakan salah satu dari berbagai jenis jamur yang dapat dikembangkan di Indonesia. Jamur tiram mampu tumbuh pada media kayu serta dapat dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat luas. Peran esensial jamur dalam ekosistem kemampuannya berfungsi sebagai pengurai zat organik, yang bertugas menguraikan materi organik menjadi senyawa-senyawa sederhana yang kemudian dapat diserap ulang oleh tanaman dan organisme, selain itu jamur juga berfungsi sebagai sumber pangan yang sering di budidaya diberbagai daerah Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan teknik budidaya jamur tiram (Pleurotus ostreatus) serta faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhannya pada usaha jamur tiram Arsa.

Abstract

Achievements are categorized into academic and non-academic achievements. Academic achievement stems from a student's intellectual ability and is determined by factors such as intelligence or the mastery of knowledge. Conversely, non-academic achievement arises from a student's demonstration of talents and interests such as participation in scientific paper competitions, sports, the arts, and other activities. Given the importance of supporting students' non-academic achievements, educational institutions require effective student affairs management. This study employs a qualitative research approach. Data sources included the vice-principal for student affairs, the school principal, and students from SMK Mamba’ul Ulum, Jambi City. Data collection methods involved interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, analysis, and conclusion drawing. The study's findings are as follows: 1) Planning for the enhancement of non-academic achievement involves: a) Identifying non-academic activities aligned with students' talents, interests, and potential; b) Communicating available non-academic activities to students; c) Identifying the supporting facilities and infrastructure required for these activities; 2) Implementation involves: a) Organizing non-academic activities suited to students' talents, interests, and potential; b) Encouraging student participation in the organized activities; c) Appointing supervising teachers based on their competence; 3) Evaluation involves: a) Written tests; b) Comparing achieved outcomes against established targets; c) Actively involving students in competitions.

Abstract

The quality of education heavily relies on teacher professional competence as a determinant factor. To elevate this capability, structured initiatives such as well-planned, systematic, and continuous training and education management are essential. This research intends to examine the management of teacher education and training aimed at fostering professional competence at MTs Nurul Iman Kenali Asam Atas, Jambi City. The investigation covers planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation, encountered challenges, and its subsequent influence on teacher professionalism. Utilizing a qualitative-descriptive design, data gathered from interviews, field observations, and documentation were scrutinized using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (data condensation, data display, and verification). To guarantee data trustworthiness, both source and technique triangulations were deployed. The results show that the management of teacher training and education at MTs Nurul Iman has been implemented through the stages of planning, implementation, as well as evaluation and monitoring. Planning is conducted by identifying teacher competency needs, while implementation is realized through teacher participation in Subject Teacher Forums (MGMP), Teacher Professional Education (PPG), seminars, and online-based training. Evaluation and monitoring are carried out through academic supervision, classroom observation, discussions, and reviews of lesson plans as a basis for program improvement. The implementation of the program still faces constraints such as a limited number of educators, operational budget, and infrastructure. Nonetheless, training and education provide a positive impact on enhancing teacher professional competence, particularly in developing lesson plans, implementing more varied learning methods, and utilizing instructional media. This study demonstrates that the comprehensive application of management functions contributes to the effectiveness of training and education in improving teacher professional competence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and magnitude of the impact of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK)-based instruction on students' critical thinking skills regarding the topic of Environmental Change (Climate Change) for Grade X (Phase E) students at SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. The study employed a quantitative method using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of one experimental class receiving TPACK-based instruction and one control class receiving conventional instruction. The research instrument was a critical thinking skills test that had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data analysis included tests for normality and homogeneity, an Independent Sample t-Test, and simple linear regression. The results indicate that TPACK-based instruction had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Regression analysis revealed a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.783 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.613, meaning that TPACK-based instruction contributed 61.3% to critical thinking skills, while 38.7% was influenced by other factors. Thus, TPACK-based instruction is effective for enhancing students' critical thinking skills in high school Biology learning.

Abstract

This study examines the strategies employed by the school principal of SMA Negeri 1 Barumun, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia, to develop students' interests and talents, and situates these strategies within the broader objectives of Islamic education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and document analysis involving the principal, the vice-principal for student affairs, extracurricular supervisors, and students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014), and validity was established through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that the principal implements five interconnected strategies: early identification of students' potential, the creation of a conducive school climate, the strengthening of extracurricular and academic competition programs, the provision of humanistic and personalized guidance, and collaborative engagement with teachers, parents, and external institutions. During the implementation of these strategies, active student participation in extracurricular activities increased from 64% in 2022 to 82% in 2025, and the number of award-winning students rose from 10 to 26 over the same period. Supporting factors include visionary leadership and strong external partnerships, whereas inhibiting factors consist of limited funding, inadequate facilities, and a shortage of specialist supervisors. Read together, the five strategies are interpreted as a holistic model of student development consistent with the objectives of Islamic education, in which academic achievement is integrated with character formation (akhlaq), the actualization of individual potential (fitrah), and social responsibility.
