Abstract

Understanding molecular shapes can be challenging due to their abstract material and requires teaching approaches that can communicate the molecule's three-dimensional form. This study aims to improve the student experience by designing a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) module that was combined with Augmented Reality (AR) for SMA phase F. In order to provide valid and practical results, the research method is Research and Development (R&D) using a four-D (4D) development model. The validity test was carried out by three FMIPA UNP chemistry lecturers and two SMAN 10 Padang chemistry teachers. The practicality test was done by two chemistry teachers and 31 SMAN 10 Padang phase F students. The instruments used were validity and practicality questionnaires. The Aikens' V formula was used to evaluate the validity test, and the percentage of product practicality accomplishment scores was used to assess the practicality test. Based on the research results, the average Aiken V value was 0.897 with a valid category, while the practicality by teachers and students obtained values ??of 90% and 96% respectively with a very practical category. The study's results show that an AR-integrated PjBL-based molecular shape module for SMA F phase is both valid and practical.

Abstract

The implementation of the independent curriculum at the senior high school level can be an opportunity for educators to develop alternative teaching materials that according to the latest curriculum standards. One alternative teaching material that can be used is the module. This study aims to develop a basic chemical law module based on Problem Based Learning integrated with green chemistry that is valid, practical and effective. This type of research is educational development research (educational design research) or known as EDR. The test subjects for this study were three chemistry lecturers, two chemistry teachers, and tenth grade students. The results of the study obtained a construct validity of 0.90 and a content validity of 0.91. The results of practicality tests by teachers and students are included in the very practical group with respective values of 0.88 and 0.84. The results of the t test on student learning outcomes showed that t-count (2.87) is bigger than t-table (1.67), and the value of science process skills in the experimental class was higher than the control class. Therefore, it can be said that the module based on problem base learning integrated with green chemistry on basic chemical law material is valid, practicable, and effective. Therefore, it can be said that the modules made are reliable and useful for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of problem-based learning models on students' metacognition in science learning. This type of research is a meta-analysis using the PRISMA 2020 method. Articles from Scopus and Google Scholar databases were collected using Publish or Perish (PoP) software. From 8 articles that met the inclusion criteria, a total of 20 data were obtained to be processed in the meta-analysis. Data analysis was used with JASP software. The results of this metaanalysis research show that problem-based learning model provides moderate effectiveness on students' metacognition in science learning (r RE = 0.67; SE = 0.16; z = 4.24; p < 0.001). This shows that problem-based learning model can improve students' metacognition in science learning. Through PBL, students become more aware of their cognitive strategies and learn to organise them more effectively. Incorporating PBL into the science curriculum can significantly improve students' metacognition, leading to more independent and effective students. Therefore, widely adopting PBL in science education is recommended to achieve better learning outcomes
