Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of guided discovery learning-based e-modules in improving senior high school students' higher-order thinking skills. It belongs to quasi-experimental research with a nonrandomized control-group pretest-posttest design. Three schools in Padang, Indonesia, were chosen as the samples through a purposive sampling technique, and experimental and control classes in each school were assigned based on the homogeneity of their previous academic score. Research instruments were a higher-order thinking cognitive test using multiple-choice questions and worksheets in the guided discovery learning-based e-module made for salt hydrolysis, electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions, and chemical elements. Students' test scores were analyzed using the N-gain test and independent sample t-test. The results show that students' higher-order thinking skills in the experimental classes were significantly higher than in the control classes. Most students could fill in the worksheets in the e-modules whose problems were made according to higher-order thinking skills criteria. Multiple representations integrated with learning materials in the e-modules helped students understand chemistry concepts. The ordered stages of guided discovery learning integrated with complete and interactive multimedia in the e-modules facilitated students to engage in learning, investigating, and evaluating information to conclude; the attempts to train higher-order thinking skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that guided discovery learning-based chemistry e-module can effectively improve senior high school students' higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Modul pembelajaran berbasis guided discovery learning dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dan memahami konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul stoikiometri berbasis guided discovery learning yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D), dengan model pengembangan Plomp. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket validitas dan praktikalitas. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan formula kappa Cohen. Modul ini divalidasi oleh 4 orang validator yang terdiri dari 2 orang dosen kimia FMIPA UNP dan 2 orang guru SMAN 1 Guguak. Modul ini juga diujikan kepada 30 orang siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Guguak tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Hasil analisis lembaran validitas modul, praktikalitas modul oleh guru dan praktikalitas modul oleh siswa dikategorikan sangat tinggi menunjukkan skor rata-rata moment kappa (k) berrturut-turut adalah 0,85, 0,92, dan 0,82. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa modul stoikiometri berbasis guided discovery learning yang dihasilkan sudah valid dan praktis.

Abstract

Penuntun pratikum kimia berbasis green chemistry untuk kelas XI SMA/MA pada semester genap. Penuntun pratikum kimia ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar yang bisa membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep dalam pelaksanaan pratikum. Tujuan dari pratikum ini adalah untuk menghasilkan penuntun pratikum kimia yang valid dan praktis. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D). Dengan model pengembangan Plomp. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket validitas dan praktikalitas. Formula kappa cohen digunakan untuk menganlisis data dalam penelitian ini.. Penuntun pratikum kimia ini divalidasi oleh 4 orang validator yang terdiri dari 2 orang dosen kimia dan 2 orang guru SMAN 5 Padang. Penuntun ini juga diujikan kepada 29 orang siswa kelas XII IPA SMAN5 Padang tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Hasil analisis lembaran validitas penuntun pratikum dikategorikan sangat tiggi dengan skor moment kappa 0,81. Praktikalitas penuntun pratikum kimia oleh guru dan praktikalitas penuntun pratikum oleh siswa dikategorikan tinggi menunjukan skor rata-rata moment kappa (k) adalah 0,72 dan 0,77. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan penuntun pratikum kimia berbasis green chemistry sudah valid dan praktis.

Abstract

Creativity is an important part of improving learning achievement and readiness to face the globalization era which requires innovation. The success of learning creativity can be assessed through an appropriate holistic assessment instrument that contains indicators of creative thinking. Based on that, the purpose of this study is to describe the development of creativity assessment instruments that have been carried out by previous researchers through journal literature sources. The research method uses a systematic literature review of 13 selected articles that meet the criteria for achieving the research objectives. From the analysis of the literature review, conclusions are drawn, 1) Creative thinking instruments have been developed through the 4D research model, ADDIE and Borg & Gall with their respective stages, 2) Aspects of creative thinking used in developing tests refer to Torrance's theory (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration). 3) In the technique of making a creative thinking item that refers to Torrance's theory, these four indicators must simultaneously form the basis for making questions. This means that through one creative thinking question can measuring fluency, flexibility, originality, and detail of the answers given by the test takers, 4) Testing the feasibility of creative thinking instruments includes validity, reliability, practicality, effectiveness, and item analysis (distinguishing power and level of difficulty).

Abstract

The development of technology 4.0 and social 5.0 has a considerable influence on educational change. Education in the 21st century requires students to have the competencies needed to face the challenges of the times. One of the efforts made is with a learning model that can develop these abilities, namely STEAM-PjBL. The purpose of this research is to analyze implementation trends of STEAM-PjBL in science learning from elementary school level to university level. This research is a literature study by collecting 19 articles. This study adopted the review process by Sharif (2019), by 1) formulating research questions; (2) setting the inclusion criteria (Table 1); (3) search for articles in various databases (Google Scholar, ERIC, DOAJ, journal websites) by typing the keywords “STEAM” “STEAM-PjBL, “STEAM-PjBL in science education” and “science education”; (4) article coding using Paper Classification Form (PCF); (5) identify patterns across articles; (6) synthesize these patterns to answer the research question. The results obtained The implementation of STEAM-PjBL research in science learning has a very good contribution in growing and improving the skills needed by students in facing the challenges of the 21st century. Learning in the current condition, which is still a COVID-19 pandemic, can be an option for schools and teachers to implement STEAM-PjBL so that they can realize the learning goals to be achieved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul reaksi kimia berbasis guided discovery learning terintegrasi etnosains untuk fase E SMA dan menganalisis validitas serta praktikalitas terhadap modul yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp dengan jenis penelitian educational design research. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sampai tahap prototyping phase pada uji small group. Uji coba validitas modul dilakukan oleh tiga orang dosen kimia FMIPA UNP dan dua orang guru kimia di SMAN 1 Pasaman. Uji praktikalitas dilakukan oleh tiga orang guru kimia SMAN 1 Pasaman dan enam orang peserta didik fase E SMAN 1 Pasaman. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket validitas dan praktikalitas. Uji validitas dianalisis dengan formula Aikens’V. Hasil analisis validitas modul termasuk kategori valid dengan skor rata-rata 0,89. Hasil penilaian praktikalitas oleh guru dan peserta didik termasuk kategori sangat praktis dengan nilai persentase berturut-turut 89% dan 85%. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa modul reaksi kimia berbasis guided discovery learning terintegrasi etnosains untuk fase E SMA telah valid dan praktis.

Abstract

Learning Management System or also called LMS as it is also known, can be considered as a type of online content management or online content delivery platform. It is used to deliver training and educational materials to the workforce or external users via the Internet. Based on that, this article aims to identify and analyze publications about online learning or online learning (in networks) with research data taken from journal articles starting in 2018-2022 as many as 124 articles from both national and international journals. The stages of data analysis consisted of searching journals through Google Scholar and also through the Mendeley application, checking the completeness of articles, mapping articles, conducting Literature Review analysis in addition to seeing the mapping and relationships between articles and seeing their distribution with bibliometric analysis with VOSviewer and making conclusions. Research on the development of the Learning Management System (LMS) Publication in 2018-2022 experienced significant developments in 2021 where the Covid pandemic occurred in early 2020 and the use of LMS was mostly dominated by universities or higher levels education. Where the university has preparedness in various aspects including human resources, qualified facilities and technology users are students who understand technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan modul sifat keperiodikan unsur berbasis guided discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik fase E di SMAN 1 Banuhampu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi terdiri dari delapan kelas fase E tahun ajaran 2022/2023 di SMAN 1 Banuhampu. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, dan terpilih kelas E2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan E7 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar. Data dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji n-gain, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan hipotesis dengan uji t karena data terdistribusi normal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh n-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,73 dengan kategori tinggi dan kelas kontrol 0,67 dengan kategori sedang. Uji hipotesis diperoleh sig(2-tailed) < 0,05 yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan modul sifat keperiodikan unsur berbasis guided discovey learning berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik fase E di SMAN 1 Banuhampu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul kimia berbasis PjBL-STEM pada materi reaksi kimia untuk fase E SMA dan menganalisis hasil validitas serta praktikalitas e-modul yang dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D. Penelitian ini dibatasi hingga tahap develop pada uji praktikalitas. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket validitas dan praktikalitas. E-modul divalidasi oleh tiga dosen kimia dan dua guru kimia fase E di SMAN 16 Padang. Data validitas dianalisis dengan menggunkan rumus Aiken’s V dan data praktikalitas dianalisis dengan statistika deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata skor validitas 0,85 dengan kategori sangat valid dan rata-rata skor praktikalitas 88% (oleh siswa) dan 86% (oleh guru) dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul kimia berbasis PjBL-STEM pada materi reaksi kimia untuk Fase E SMA/MA valid dan praktis sehingga dapat diuji efektifitasnya.

Abstract

Merdeka curriculum emphasizes the ability of students to understand and apply their concepts to solve contextual problems. This research aimed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectivity of buffer solution students’ worksheet based on problem based learning with etnochemistry on students’ science literacy ability. The development model used in this research is 4-D. buffer solution students’ worksheet was validated by 3 chemistry lectures and 2 chemistry teachers. Practicality tests were carried out by 3 chemistry teachers and 32 students. Then, the level of effectiveness of buffer solution students' worksheet is known through the N-gain test. The validity test was analyzed by using aiken's v derived formula consisting the validity of the content and construct which was 0.91 and 0.90 with category valid. The results of the practicality of teachers and students was 88.80 and 87.75 with higher category. Analysis of the n-gain value obtained the results of the value of g = 0.86 in the high category. Then the date analyzed with quantitative method by using hypotheses testing, determined that the research hypothesis was accepted. This result confirmed that buffer solution students’ worksheet based on problem based learning with ethnochemistry was valid, practical, and effective to improving students’ science literacy ability significantly.
