Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the funding system at Pondok Pesantren Salaf Hidayatuth-Tholibin, Karangploso, Malang with a focus on identifying sources of boarding school funds (financing), allocating sources of funds (Budgeting), and the mechanism of boarding school financial accountability (Accountablity). By using a qualitative approach, data were collected through structured interviews with the caregivers of the boarding school and analysis of supporting documents. The results of this study show that the main source of funds comes from male santri fees or internal funds, while community donations and government assistance come from external funds. The allocation of these funds is focused on daily operations, educational facilities, and infrastructure development, although the management of funds faces challenges in the form of limited income and dependence on subsidies from caregivers. Financial accountability is managed through structured records by the boarding school treasurer, while large funds from external parties are managed directly by the boarding school caretaker. These findings emphasize the importance of diversifying funding sources, careful budget planning, and developing independent businesses to support the sustainability of pesantren operations. Abstract

This research examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) ChatGPT in improving the Arabic academic writing skills of students in the Arabic Language Education program at STIT Darul Hijrah Martapura. The goals are to describe (1) how ChatGPT helps students in writing Arabic, (2) the accuracy and relevance of its suggestions in academic writing, and (3) the challenges students face when using ChatGPT for Arabic academic writing. This field study uses a quasi-qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using the Miles and Huberman method. The results of the study showed that 1) 95% of sixth-semester students in the Arabic Language Education Program at STIT Darul Hijrah Martapura used ChatGPT for writing Arabic thesis proposals. ChatGPT helped them generate ideas, translate, and find references. Techniques included asking questions in Arabic, using Indonesian with commands to produce Arabic text, and translating. 2) The accuracy of ChatGPT varied: direct Arabic questions gave more relevant answers, while Indonesian commands were less precise. 3) Challenges included accuracy, cultural context, source verification, and plagiarism concerns, with some students resolving these by cross-checking with dictionaries and online sources.

Abstract

Developing speaking skills (maharah kalam) in Arabic requires instructional strategies that emphasize active engagement, structured practice, and contextual relevance. This study investigates the application of the Mimicry Memorization method in enhancing students’ speaking proficiency at Tarbiyatul Muhibbin Junior High School, Banyuwangi. Grounded in the need to address common challenges such as low confidence, poor pronunciation, and limited oral fluency, the research focuses on three key areas: the procedural stages of method implementation, the interactional dynamics during mimicry practice, and the method’s overall contribution to students’ speaking performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through classroom observations, interviews with Arabic teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings reveal that structured repetition and guided imitation foster greater student confidence, improve pronunciation, and enhance participation in speaking activities. This study highlights the value of imitation-based methods in Arabic pedagogy and suggests that Mimicry Memorization can serve as an effective strategy for cultivating communicative competence in faith-based language education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between language, gender bias and identity in Arabic language learning. Language and gender cannot be separated in a context, as aspects of language, including structure, word use, and communication conventions, can play a role in forming and reproducing gender norms, including in Arabic language learning. This research method uses library research with a qualitative approach. The data that will be presented is descriptive and analytical by paying attention to the characteristics of data sourced from articles, journals, books and related discussion topics. The results of this research show that in Arabic language learning there is still an unequal gender overlap in the context of texts which are exemplified by the dominance of muzakkar rather than muannats contained in the MTs Arabic language book Class VII Print -1 of 2020. Meanwhile, language and gender must have balance and Language equality is not only a means of communication, but also a reflection of social norms and structures, especially in learning, so that there is no gender image in the learning process.

Abstract

Learning Arabic at Madrasah Aliyah in the city of Malang faces various difficulties, including: (1) Non-linearity in student education. Students from Islamic Junior High School (MTs) do not always continue their studies to Islamic Senior High School (MA) and similarly students from Junior High School (SMP) do not always continue their studies to Senior High School (SMA). (2) The second problem is the language competence of each student which is also an important thing in the Arabic learning process. This research is very important to do to find out the relationship between students' background and their learning ability. The two researchers used quantitative research to determine the effect of students' background and competence on the motivation to learn Arabic among Islamic Senior High School (MA) students in Malang. The results of this study are R = 0.317 R Table 0.113 which means it has a weak correlation and the results of multiple regression tests are obtained by chi square 0.100, which means that students' background (X1) and competence (X2) have an effect = 1.00% on motivation to learn Arabic in Indonesia among students of Islamic Senior High School Malang (Y). There are other factors that affect the motivation to learn Arabic in Madrasah Aliyah students except the academic background and proficiency of students by 99.00%, and this result is greater than the influence of background and language proficiency of students.
