Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum addresses educational challenges in Indonesia by offering flexible learning and emphasizing character development. SD Negeri 194/VI Tambang Emas I has adopted this curriculum to enhance learning quality and align students with the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. However, challenges remain, including teacher readiness, parental involvement, and limited infrastructure. This study uses a qualitative case study approach, collecting data through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion techniques to understand implementation challenges and opportunities. The findings show that while the curriculum's flexibility enhances project-based learning, its effectiveness is hindered by a lack of teacher training and administrative burdens. Additionally, low parental engagement and inadequate infrastructure remain significant barriers. To ensure successful implementation, practical teacher training, stronger school-parent communication, and improved facilities are essential. Strengthening these aspects will help optimize the curriculum’s benefits for students

The method used is qualitative descriptive with content analysis. The research data is in the form of words, sentences, and expressions in Palabe that contain educational value. The source of data was obtained from informants who understood and could speak Palabe well. Hermeneutic techniques are used in data collection and analysis. The results of the study found 23 Palabe of the Bungo community, including the Origin of Siri Sekapur Hamlet, Bujang Datun, Karaketu Bird, Ingenious Chicken Mother, Grandma Ale, Golden Horned Deer, Tampang Eggplant, and Tuanku Sri Titled Imam Sakti. Of the 23 Palabes, four categories of educational values were found, namely religious (74 data), moral (92 data), social (75 data), and cultural (70 data). Religious values include belief, worship, and practice; moral values include patience, tawakal, and a helping attitude; social values involve caring, togetherness, and friendship; While cultural values reflect beliefs, art, customs, and habits. From these values, 14 dominant values were found that are relevant for Indonesian teaching materials in PAUD, including faith, practice, patience, diligence, caring, brotherhood, togetherness, and customs. Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of CTL learning model based on ethnoscience on critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes of elementary school students. Initial observations indicate that students' critical thinking skills still need to be improved, especially in articulating their ideas and understanding. With a quantitative approach, data were collected through standardized research instruments and analyzed statistically. The results of the analysis showed a significant difference between the experimental group taught by CTL model based on ethnoscience and the control group. The F count was 83.267 (p <0.05) for simultaneity between the two, 20.075 (p <0.05) for critical thinking, and 168.644 (p <0.05) for learning outcomes. Ethnoscience that connects traditional knowledge with modern science has been proven to play a strategic role in transforming learning. This approach allows students to construct knowledge by connecting academic concepts and cultural experiences, changing the learning model from conventional to constructivist that develops declarative and procedural knowledge. Learning experiences that are linked to cultural contexts create meaningful learning that enhances students' cognitive and metacognitive capacities. Ethnoscience not only bridges local wisdom and scientific knowledge, but also becomes a catalyst for the development of high-level thinking skills.

Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the essential competencies in Indonesian language learning at elementary schools. However, initial observations in class V.B at SD Negeri 151/IV Jambi City showed that most students still experienced difficulties in expressing ideas orally, characterized by lack of confidence and limited vocabulary usage. This study aims to improve the speaking skills of Grade V.B students of SD Negeri 151/IV Jambi City by implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model combined with the Show and Tell method. Speaking skills are an important aspect in language learning that reflect students' ability to express ideas coherently and confidently. This research involved 25 fifth-grade students and was conducted over two cycles using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, and documentation. The study results showed that before the intervention, students' speaking skills were still low, marked by a soft voice, limited vocabulary, and anxiety when speaking in public. After the implementation of PjBL and Show and Tell, there was a significant increase in confidence, fluency, and the organization of ideas when speaking. In Cycle I, the class average score increased from 69 (pre-action) to 76, and in Cycle II it rose further to 83. The percentage of students meeting the minimum competency increased from 32% in the pre-action stage to 84% in Cycle I, and reached 92% in Cycle II. The application of this combined method had a positive impact on students' speaking skills by encouraging active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration. Therefore, the integration of Project-Based Learning and Show and Tell is recommended as an effective instructional strategy for enhancing speaking skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

The curriculum changes in Indonesia, from KTSP to the Merdeka Curriculum, aim to improve the quality of education by emphasizing 21st-century skills and the Pancasila Student Profile. One of the key aspects of the Merdeka Curriculum is the implementation of authentic assessment, which encompasses affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. However, many teachers face difficulties in understanding and applying this, particularly in reading skills. This study aims to analyze teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of authentic assessment in reading skills at SDN 205/IV in Jambi City. The research employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological study. Data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed inductively using thematic coding, verification, and data triangulation. The findings show that teachers’ understanding of authentic assessment varies. Five fourth-grade teachers experienced difficulties in its implementation due to time constraints, lack of training, and low student motivation in reading. Authentic assessments were carried out through observation, written tests, oral tests, and the provision of feedback to enhance students’ understanding. To overcome these challenges, teachers applied strategies such as observation journals, differentiated instruction, and reflective discussion techniques to improve the effectiveness of reading instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials and describe the effectiveness of electronic modules (MOLEK) in improving poetry writing skills in class VIII MTs Nurrodiyah Kota Baru Jambi. The research method used is research and development. The development procedure in this study used the research and development design of the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evalution). Data collection techniques in this study are divided into two, namely during pre-research (interviews and observations) and during research (questionnaires and student learning outcomes tests). The calculation of the validity of the instrument items for the test was carried out by calculating the correlation between the item score and the total instrument score using the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient formula. The results are that the electronic module developed is suitable for use in learning and the use of this Electronic Module (Molek) is proven effective in improving students' poetry writing skills and learning interest.
