Abstract

Background: Advancement in the healthcare sector, the complexity of health problems and healthcare system become an additional burden for healthcare workers who have incompetence along with professional education of healthcare workers, specifically in radiology education. Virtual reality has great potential in educational learning tool development to encounter various challenges in future radiology education. Objective: To determine the scope of virtual reality and its effectiveness as an educational learning tool in radiology education. Methods: A literature review was carried out to explore articles related with application of virtual reality in radiology education by adjusting various search terms: "virtual reality", and "radiology"/ "radiography" / “x-ray” / “radiology technologist” / “education”. Articles were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria that have been previously assigned. The timeframe for the literature search was restricted from 2010 to 2022. screening process. Results: Screening process were applied to search across database. Twelve articles were identified related with the application of virtual reality in radiology education. Application of virtual reality had been implemented in several sub-fields of radiology education, consist of three articles from conventional radiography, two articles from general diagnostic radiology, four articles from interventional radiology, two articles from radiological anatomy, and an article from ultrasonography. Conclusion: The application of virtual reality has been used in several sub-fields of radiology education. Almost all studies showed positive responses on application VR in radiology education. The development of virtual reality as radiology educational learning tools were needed further particularly in several sub-fields that have not been implemented.

Abstract

This research is a research and development of the ADDIE model to implement and evaluate the EthnoVlog learning media, namely at the Design and Development stage. This study aims to explain the scientific reconstruction and explanation of Parijoto (Medinilla javanensis) as body immunity. This research is located on the slopes of the Muria Mountains, Colo Village, Dawe District, Kudus Regency, with the research subject of Parijoto farmers. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews with selected sources, and validation by experts. Data analysis and scientific reconstruction refer to Sudarmin et al. (2020), consisting of four steps: verification, reduction, validation, and conceptualization. The scientific reconstruction and explanation of Parijoto (Medinilla javanensis) show Parijoto contains flavonoid compounds, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and antioxidants that the body needs for the body's immune system. The literature-based scientific reconstruction and explanation results are used as a database to design engaging Parijoto EthnoVlog learning media. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the Parijoto EthnoVlog media is feasible to be applied directly in science learning as an alternative media during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This comic electronic media is a comic that is uploaded on a webtoon. Students more easily access it via smartphones. This study aims to determine the feasibility of electronic comic media based on problem based learning integrated with Islamic values based on the assessments of material experts, media experts, and learning experts. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection technique used is a research instrument with quantitative data analysis. The feasibility of material experts on each indicator obtained an average of 84.28% with very feasible criteria. Assessment from media experts received an average of 82.77% on each indicator with very decent standards. The feasibility of the media based on the evaluation of learning experts on each indicator obtained an average of 100.00% with very feasible standards. The test of electronic media based on Islamic-based learning problems shows the criteria are very feasible to be tested. This media can then be used as a science learning medium for vibration, waves, and sound materials in everyday life for grade VIII junior high school.

Abstract

Reasoning is one of the important skills that should be mastered especially for vocational school students. Vocational school students are prepared to be worked ready, so they should have a clear reasoning. Reasoning that uses language as the main tool is called verbal reasoning. This study aimed to analyze the validity and reliability of the development of verbal reasoning assessment instrument. Quantitative was used as the method of study. 5 validators and 249 eleventh-grade students were involved as the research subjects. A verbal reasoning assessment instrument was shared with the students for the data collection. The technique of analysis used was content validity using Aiken’s V, construct validity using EFA and CFA, and reliability using KR-20. The results showed that content validity was validly stated by the mean of V value obtained was 0.853. EFA showed that the data was unidimensional. CFA indicated that the single-order model was supported by the data. Reliability indicated that the verbal reasoning assessment instrument was reliable by the ri obtained was 0.881 for the small scale and 0.822 for the large scale. Therefore, the verbal reasoning assessment instrument developed was valid and reliable. The teachers can use verbal reasoning assessment instrument to measure or evaluate students’ verbal reasoning in English subjects. Other than that, validity and reliability are the important parts in developing an instrument so this research may be used as a reference or information.

Abstract

Teachers in elementary schools have not developed many science literacy problems so the science literacy competence of students has not been evaluated clearly and accurately. The purpose of this study is to develop a science literacy evaluation instrument and find out the feasibility of the developed instrument. The development of instruments in this study used a combination of Wilson and Oriondo and Antonio models. The instrument development steps include (1) test design, (2) test trials, and (3) test assembly. The sample number is 31 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. The content validation test by four experts based on the Aiken assessment formula obtained a validity value of 0.9813 which means it is declared "valid" or worthy of use. Instrument validation is empirically declared "valid" and has an r value above 0.355. The value of all items is declared reliable with multiple-choice questions having a reliable value of 0.743, short-fill questions 0.744, and description questions 0.738. The results of the difference power analysis, the value of the Corrected Item-Total Correlation does not exceed the value of Cronbach's Alpha Item Deleted and has a "good" difference power interpretation value. Analysis of the difficulty level of the question items shows that the questions vary with the ideal level of difficulty with an easy comparison: medium: difficult which is 3: 5: 2. It can be concluded that overall the science literacy question items are in good condition and feasible for measuring students' science literacy competence.

Abstract

Learning related to STEM aspects provides opportunities for students to understand the concept of Physics combined with technology, engineering and mathematics through discussion, practicum, and project making activities. Learning physics has four main components that must be achieved by students. The four components are understanding, skills, abilities and scientific attitudes. These abilities are basic abilities that are included in the generic science skills that need to be analyzed for their development in students. This study aims to determine student responses to the development of STEM-charged free fall worksheets that can improve generic science skills for class X. This study uses descriptive research methods to determine student responses to the development of learning media. The results of this study based on interviews with physics teachers that the LKPD did not contain STEM which improved science generic skills and showed that the STEM-loaded LKPD media for use in learning received a student response of 79.9% with a good category. Keywords: LKPD, STEM, science generic skills

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristics of teaching material, identify the level of feasibility, and determine the level of readability of teaching material based on guided discovery learning assisted by liveworksheet applications to improve problem-solving ability in work and energy material. The research method used is research and development with the ADDIE research design developed by Mollenda and Reiser in 2003 consisting of 5 stages, namely: 1) analyze; 2) design; 3) develop; 4) implement; and 5) evaluate. In this study only up to the develop stage. The feasibility test data collection used a questionnaire sheet with a Likert scale, while the readability test used the overlap test. The subjects of this research include physics lecturers, physics teachers, and students totaling 36. The characteristics of the teaching material developed contain work and energy material in the form of interactive pdfs equipped with discussion activities and experiments assisted by liveworksheet applications, sample problems and discussions, and evaluations with Polya problem-solving ability indicators. The results of the feasibility test of the teaching material obtained a score of 88%, indicating that it included very feasible criteria. The readability test obtained a result of 76.67%, so it is included in the criteria for teaching material that is easily understood by students. The results of this research can be utilized by teachers to teach the topic of work and energy, as well as to design and develop other learning materials that are more effective and interactive.
