Abstract

The importance of this research is due to the challenges encountered in learning Javanese in elementary schools, particularly regarding the material of Javanese script writing. The gap in the literature or the difference between theory and practice is that previous studies have widely explored the application of the CORE learning model across various subject areas, such as science and mathematics. Nonetheless, there exists a limited number of studies that combine the CORE learning model with mind-mapping techniques, specifically within the context of Javanese language instruction at the elementary level. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the CORE learning model assisted by mind mapping in improving Javanese language learning outcomes. The research method employed is classroom action research. Data collection methods were through observation, tests, and interviews. The data analysis process used in the research was interactive analysis. The main findings revealed that the mind mapping-assisted CORE learning model could improve the learning outcomes of the Javanese language of 5th-grade elementary school students. In its implementation, students who were taught using the CORE learning model assisted by mind mapping exhibited a significant increase in their Javanese language learning outcomes. The conclusion is that the mind mapping-assisted CORE learning model is applicable in elementary school Javanese language learning. The implications of these results can be used by educators as a basis for implementing futuristic models and adaptive media combinations in language learning with several similar problems.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the degree of readability of fourth-grade Javanese textbooks used in East Java, Indonesia. The data provided from 20 pupils, 7 of whom were male and 13 of whom were female, between the ages of 10 and 12. Primary school textbooks and worksheets were the source of the secondary data. To ascertain the textbooks' degree of readability, the data was examined using the Klose approach and Fry's Graph. The Javanese language textbook that was used had a score of 9.285 according to the data analysis results, indicating that it has higher expectations for fourth graders. While the klose technique classifies the textbook as frustrating, meaning it is too difficult for grade IV elementary school students to understand, the analysis results indicate that the textbook is appropriate for grades 6 (elementary school), 7, and 8 (junior high school). The teacher team must pay attention to this when creating or selecting Javanese language textbooks for fourth-grade elementary school pupils, particularly in East Java.

Abstract

Purpose –This study examines the effectiveness of the Direct Instruction (DI) learning model when supported by digital-visual media in improving the learning achievement of elementary school students in social studies. The study aims to determine whether integrating DI with digital-visual aids can significantly enhance students’ understanding and retention of social studies material.Methodology – This classroom action research is conducted through 4 stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 26 fifth-grade students and was conducted collaboratively with teachers at SDN Klegen 04.Findings – State the main results of the study. Numerical data may be included, but should be kept to a minimum. State the conclusions and implications. The DI learning model can improve students' social studies learning achievement. This is evidenced by students who get the same or higher scores than the KKM 70.00, increasing from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, the completion of learning outcomes reached a class average of 72.3. While in cycle II, the completion of learning outcomes on average increased by 84.8.Contribution – Who would benefit from this study? These findings suggest that combining Direct Instruction with digital-visual aids can effectively improve elementary students' academic achievement in social studies. Therefore, educators are encouraged to adopt this approach to foster more meaningful and impactful learning, particularly in content-heavy subjects like social studies.

Abstract

Literasi bahasa daerah, termasuk Jawa, memegang peranan penting dalam melestarikan kebudayaan lokal dan meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi bahasa Jawa siswa sekolah dasar dengan pemanfaatan aplikasi Let’s Read. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang menggabungkan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis statistik kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V di SDN 03 Kanigoro Kota Madiun. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, tes tertulis untuk mengukur pemahaman membaca, dan angket untuk mengukur minat baca siswa sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan aplikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Let’s Read mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam membaca teks bahasa Jawa melalui penyajian cerita interaktif, ilustrasi menarik, serta latihan berulang yang menekankan prinsip deep learning. Peningkatan dibuktikan dengan rata-rata kemampuan reseptif siswa pada siklus 1 sebesar 44,5 meningkat menjadi 75 pada siklus 2, dan kemampuan ekspresif mencapai 54 pada siklus 1, dan meningkat menjadi 76 pada siklus 2. Selain itu, keaktifan siswa dalam diskusi dan menulis ringkasan cerita meningkat secara signifikan. Teknologi digital ini juga terbukti mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan interaktif. Dengan demikian, aplikasi Let’s Read dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan literasi bahasa Jawa di tingkat sekolah dasar. Integrasi teknologi seperti ini merupakan solusi inovatif yang disarankan untuk diterapkan pada pembelajaran bahasa daerah lainnya. Penelitian lanjutan dapat mengeksplorasi efektivitas aplikasi pada kelompok usia atau jenjang pendidikan yang berbeda. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Regional language literacy, including Javanese, plays a vital role in preserving local culture and enhancing students' language skills. This study aims to improve the Javanese literacy of elementary school students by utilizing the Let’s Read application. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), combining a qualitative descriptive approach with quantitative statistical analysis. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN 03 Kanigoro, Madiun City. Data was collected through direct observation, written tests to measure reading comprehension, and questionnaires to measure students' reading interest before and after using the application. The results showed that the Let’s Read application could increase student engagement in reading Javanese texts through interactive stories, attractive illustrations, and repetitive exercises emphasizing deep learning principles. The improvement is evidenced by the average student receptive ability, which increased from 44.5 in cycle 1 to 75 in cycle 2, and expressive ability, which reached 54 in cycle 1 and increased to 76 in cycle 2. Furthermore, student activity in discussions and writing story summaries increased significantly. This digital technology also proved capable of creating a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. Thus, the Let’s Read application can be an alternative learning medium to improve Javanese literacy at the elementary school level. The integration of such technology is an innovative solution recommended for application in other regional language learning. Further research can explore the application's effectiveness on different age groups or educational levels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat penguasaan ejaan siswa sekolah dasar di Kota Madiun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan siswa kelas IV, V, dan VI dari beberapa sekolah dasar sebagai sampel penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis yang mencakup aspek-aspek ejaan, seperti penggunaan huruf kapital, tanda baca, dan penulisan kata baku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat penguasaan ejaan siswa berada pada kategori sedang, dengan beberapa kesalahan dominan pada penggunaan tanda baca dan huruf kapital. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat penguasaan ejaan meliputi pemahaman siswa terhadap aturan ejaan, frekuensi pembelajaran ejaan di kelas, serta dukungan lingkungan belajar. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan pembelajaran ejaan yang lebih interaktif dan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam memahami dan menerapkan aturan ejaan.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) in Indonesia emphasizes flexibility, contextualization, and competency-based learning. However, many elementary school teachers, particularly in Madiun Regency, still rely on generic and non-digital materials that fail to represent local socio-ecological realities. This study aims to develop and validate digital teaching materials for Integrated Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) based on Madiun’s ethnoecology to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile. Using the Research and Development (R&D) approach adapted from Gall, Gall, and Borg (2007), the research involved students from grades I and IV in selected elementary schools through purposive sampling. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments. The results show that the developed materials are valid, practical, and effective in improving learning outcomes and fostering critical thinking, environmental awareness, and cooperative values. Students demonstrated increased engagement and conceptual understanding when interacting with digital modules that featured local wisdom such as farming traditions, forest management, and water conservation. Theoretically, this study contributes to the framework of culturally responsive and technology-integrated science education. Its novelty lies in combining IPAS, ethnoecology, digital learning, and Pancasila-based pedagogy, a synthesis that has rarely been explored, especially in elementary education. The findings suggest that integrating local ecological knowledge with digital pedagogy can enhance contextual, meaningful, and character-oriented learning experiences aligned with the goals of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Abstract:  This training aims to equip parking attendants in Madiun City to have the attitude and politeness of language while carrying out their duties. This training is crucial because the attitude and politeness of speech play a crucial role in fostering a sense of security, comfort, and respect among vehicle users. The training activities were carried out in 2 stages, namely the material provision stage and the field practice stage. During the material provision stage, participants received information on (1) Regional and Madiun Mayor Parking Management Regulations, (2) Attitude Development, and (3) Language Politeness. Each participant carried out field practice by implementing good attitudes and speaking politely when carrying out parking duties. The training participants were 20 parking attendants in the Madiun City area. The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the University of PGRI Madiun fully funded this training activity. The training method uses lecture and practice/demonstration methods. The training results show a change in good attitudes and the use of polite language among the training participants. Abstrak: Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membekali para juru parkir di Kota Madiun agar memiliki sikap dan kesantunan berbahasa selama menjalankan tugasnya. Pelatihan ini penting dilakukan karena sikap dan kesantunan berbahasa dalam bertutur sangat penting dalam memberikan rasa aman, nyaman, dan memberikan rasa hormat kepada pengguna kendaraan. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan melalui 2 tahap, yaitu tahap pembekalan materi dan tahap praktik di lapangan. Pada tahap pembekalan materi diberikan materi tentang: (1) Peraturan Daerah dan Peraturan Walikota Madiun tentang Pengelolaan Parkir, (2) Pengembangan Sikap, dan (3) Kesantunan berbahasa. Praktik di lapangan dilakukan oleh setiap peserta dengan menerapkan sikap baik dan bertutur dengan santun ketika menjalankan tugas parkir. Peserta pelatihan sebanyak 20 juru parkir di wilayah Kota Madiun. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dibiayai sepenuhnya oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas PGRI Madiun. Metode pelatihan menggunakan metode ceramah dan praktik/unjuk kerja. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya perubahan sikap yang baik dan penggunaan bahasa yang santun pada peserta pelatihan.

Abstract

Kecerdasan financial anak dapat ditingkatkan sejak usia dini. Hal ini di karenakan banyaknya anak yang tumbuh dengan pribadi konsumtif dan materialistis ketika menjelang dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan finansial siswa Taman Kanak-Kanak Roudhotul Athfal Ponorogo. Hal ini dikarenakan pemahaman mengenai kecerdasan finansial di usia taman kanak-kanak masih sangat rendah. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat sebagai wahana untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan finansial siswa. Untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan financial anak harus di lakukan sesuai dengan usianya agar pengetahuan tersebut mampu diserap dengan baik oleh anak. Penelitian Tindakan kelas ini menggunakan media gerak dan lagu untuk menyampaikan pesan kecerdasan finansial anak. Media ini dipilih karena menarik dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (classroom action research). Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok B Taman Kanak-kanak Roudhotul Athfal Ponorogo yang terdiri dari 26 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi partisipan. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu suatu analisis data yang bersifat menggambarkan kenyataan atau fakta sesuai dengan data yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan finansial siswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui media gerak dan lagu.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to improve thematic learning outcomes for class IV elementary school by using the Make a Match learning model assisted by the Question Box media. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 11 students as the research subject. The research (CAR) was carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The procedure in this research is planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Collecting data through interviews, observation, and test. Data analysis used qualitative data analysis, namely by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions and quantitative analysis by analyzing data through test results, and measuring the percentage of completeness of test results. The results of the study after using the make a match model, the learning outcomes in the first cycle obtained an average of 73 with a percentage of 55% and in the second cycle an average of 92 with a percentage of 91%. The application of the make a match model to student learning outcomes has increased by 36%, so the results of the study indicate that the application of the make a match model assisted by the question box media can improve thematic learning outcomes at elementary school.

Abstract

Currently the teaching materials used by teachers do not pay attention to the condition of students and their environment, because in general teachers still use conventional teaching materials as a guide in learning. This makes teachers very dependent on conventional teaching materials. This study aims to determine the quality of E-book teaching materials with a scientific inquiry approach in strengthening scientific literacy for elementary school students. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) using the development model developed by Borg and Gall, and only taken 6 out of 10 overall stages. The subjects in this study were fourth grade elementary school students. The data collection instrument used in this study was a Likert scale questionnaire with qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of expert validation research show that ebook teaching materials with a scientific inquiry approach can be said to be very feasible by experts according to the indicators of media feasibility, language feasibility, material feasibility. At the small-scale trial stage, the teaching materials developed also received a very good response from teachers and students. Thus the development of ebook teaching materials is expected to be an alternative learning so that concepts in science material can be conveyed properly and can strengthen scientific literacy in fourth grade elementary school students. The results of expert validation research show that ebook teaching materials with a scientific inquiry approach can be said to be very feasible by experts according to the indicators of media feasibility, language feasibility, material feasibility. At the small-scale trial stage, the teaching materials developed also received a very good response from teachers and students. Thus the development of ebook teaching materials is expected to be an alternative learning so that concepts in science material can be conveyed properly and can strengthen scientific literacy in fourth grade elementary school students.
