Abstract

The competency of teachers is a critical factor in the quality of education, and leadership as well as work motivation play vital roles in enhancing this competency. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of school principal leadership and work motivation and their influence on the competency of basic education teachers in Pidie Regency. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational research type, the study found that the multiple linear regression equation is Y = -5.743 + 0.636X1 + 0.484X2. The leadership of primary education school principals in Pidie Regency has been effective, significantly influencing the competency of basic education teachers (Y) in Pidie Regency, with a calculated t value of 5.207 and a significance level of 0.000. The work motivation (X2) of basic education teachers in Pidie Regency is high and significantly influences their competency, with a calculated t value of 3.786 and a significance level of 0.000. Simultaneously, the variables of principal leadership effectiveness (X1) and work motivation (X2) significantly affect basic education teacher competency (Y) in Pidie Regency, with a calculated F value of 256.737 and a significance level of 0.000. The correlation coefficient (r) of 0.928 indicates a very strong and unidirectional relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.861 shows that the independent variables collectively contribute 86.1% to the dependent variable, while the remaining 13.9% is influenced by other factors outside this research. This research contributes to the field of education by providing evidence of the significant impact of school principal leadership and teacher work motivation on teacher competency, highlighting the importance of effective leadership and motivation in enhancing educational outcomes.

Abstract

Student involvement in science learning is very minus if the learning provided is not meaningful and less attractive to students. Conventional learning carried out by teachers does not provide confidence in the learning process has not had an impact on learning outcomes. This research aims to provide descriptive information about comic-based integrated science implemented in grade V of SD Negeri Paya Kalui East Aceh. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. Data were collected through observation and interviews. The stages of data analysis used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of data analysis showed that teachers made integrated science teaching media based on comics, namely by making picture books and having words and colors from the figure of someone who seemed to be talking, thinking, and doing something. The teacher demonstrates how cartoons speak in different tones and voices as if in a story there are many who play a role, but it is the teacher who speaks, exemplifying with different tones of voice and accents. Comic-based integrated science learning has a good impact and provides a unique and fun learning nuance for students so that learning looks meaningful and gives its own meaning to students.

Abstract

One of the subjects that is a challenge in providing education in the 21st century is the learning process in Indonesian language subjects. The Indonesian language learning method in class tends to be monotonous using the lecture method, making students easily bored and not understanding the material. This can be an alternative medium for learning Indonesian because it stimulates students to be creative, imaginative and innovative, and encourages them to be independent. This research aims to analyze the benefits of using comics as a medium for learning Indonesian to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. This research uses a literature review method with descriptive analysis techniques. Researchers collected data from previous relevant studies within the last ten years. The results of the research that has been carried out illustrate that the use of comic media in learning Indonesian can significantly increase student motivation and learning outcomes
