Abstract

Abstract

Transportation as an activity of moving something from one place to another. The existence of various community activities causes the emergence of traffic movements. The more activities that take place, the more traffic generated. So that adequate infrastructure is needed to create a smooth movement. As the number of vehicles increases, the strength of the pavement decreases which results in road damage. Pavement in good condition in Samarinda City in 2020 decreased by around 6.3%, while roads in severely damaged conditions increased by almost 100% from 2015. Damage to pavement reduces the capacity of the previously planned roads. This affects the level of service on these roads, so it is necessary to compare the analysis of service levels with and without any damage. The research was conducted by surveying Ir. Sutami road, City of Samarinda with a length of 150 m. Primary data include the number of vehicles, road geometric data and documentation of road damage. The analytical method uses MKJI 1997. The volume of vehicles passing through Ir. Sutami as much as 1228.4 smp/hour on holidays and 3510.35 smp/hour on weekdays which are dominated by motorbikes. Road capacity Ir. Sutami in a condition without any damage, namely 6079.92 smp/hour which produces a V/C ratio of 0.58 with a service level of A, while currently the Ir. Sutami road with some damage such as holes and peeling so that the capacity decreased to 5251.067 smp/hour with a V/C ratio of 0.67.

Abstract

This literature review examines the effects of omega-3 supplementation, specifically EPA and DHA, on cognitive performance and focus among athletes, with a particular emphasis on precision sports such as petanque. A total of 18 eligible studies published between 2015 and 2025 were systematically analyzed using the PRISMA guidelines. The databases Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, DOAJ, Google Scholar, and national Indonesian portals were searched. The findings indicate that omega-3 supplementation consistently improves cognitive outcomes—including selective attention, sustained focus, working memory, reaction time, and executive function. DHA was shown to enhance membrane fluidity, synaptic transmission efficiency, and neuroplasticity, while EPA contributed to reducing neural inflammation and cognitive fatigue. These mechanisms explain improvements observed in athletes requiring high mental precision. Despite the positive findings, several limitations remain, including heterogeneity in dosage, supplementation duration, cognitive measurement tools, and the lack of specific research on petanque athletes. Future research should include randomized controlled trials focusing directly on petanque populations and explore neurocognitive measures such as EEG or neuroimaging. Overall, omega-3 represents a promising nutritional strategy for improving cognitive readiness, focus, and performance in precision-based sports.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of pencak silat learning based on local Makassar cultural values in improving the character and sportsmanship of students at Sudirman I Elementary School, Makassar. Twenty students served as the sample, using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument consisted of a character and sportsmanship questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. Pencak silat learning was designed to integrate Makassar cultural values such as sipakatau, sipakainge, and sipakalebbi into each training session. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (paired t-test). The results showed a significant improvement in both study variables. The average character score increased from 72 to 85 (18.05%), while the sportsmanship score increased from 70 to 88 (25.71%). The t-test results showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The effect size values showed a significant influence (d = 1.39 for character and d = 1.78 for sportsmanship), confirming that cultural values-based learning has a strong impact on student behavior. These findings indicate that integrating local culture into pencak silat learning not only improves students' skills and fitness but also strengthens character education in line with the Merdeka Curriculum. This learning model is worthy of recommendation for widespread implementation in elementary school physical education.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of structured swimming training on improving motor coordination and physical fitness of students at SD Inpres Unggulan BTN Pemda Makassar. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a One Group Pretest–Posttest model, involving 20 students. The variables measured included motor coordination using the Alternate Hand Wall Toss Test and physical fitness components, namely VO₂max, muscle strength, and agility. The structured swimming training program was implemented for six weeks, twice weekly. The results showed significant improvements in all variables after the intervention. Motor coordination increased on average from 15.8 to 26.4. VO₂max increased from 28.5 to 34.2 ml/kg/min, muscle strength increased from 11.4 to 14.8 kg, and agility showed a time reduction from 14.2 to 12.6 seconds. A paired sample t-test showed a p-value <0.05 for all variables, indicating a significant effect of structured swimming training on motor coordination and physical fitness. The results of this study confirm that swimming, as a structured activity, can comprehensively improve students' motor skills and physical condition. Integrating swimming training into physical education is considered relevant for supporting the physical development of elementary school-aged children. Further research is recommended using a control group design and a longer intervention duration to strengthen the generalizability of the findings.
