Abstract

Fitness is still an important study in life. The study of physical fitness is still a problem that seems to be currently a polemic among elementary school students. This happens because of a shift in physical activity habits in student life. The purpose of this study was to find out an overview of the impact of a Sport Monopoly Games (SMG) game on students' physical fitness. A total of 105 students spread across the Cimahi City, Indonesia area participated in this research, namely schools in the northern, central and southern regions. The research method uses experiments with research design one shoot case study. The instrument uses a measuring instrument in the form of the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI) Phase C, which consists of five test items: 1) Child Ball; 2) Tok Tok Ball; 3) Shuttle Run 4x10 m Get ball; 4) Move the Ball; 5) Run 600 m. The data analysis used a percentage approach, and using the tools of Ms Excel 2019 and IBM SPSS version 26 programs. Average physical fitness score from the northern region is greater at 15.6 than the other two regions, namely the central region 15.4 and the southern region 14.9. However, if you look at the TKSI value category table, the three regions on average have the same fitness level, which is in the medium category. The results of the study found that the average student had a moderate level of physical fitness after being given treatment using SMG. Physical education teachers can apply this game in physical fitness materials at school, so that the learning process is not monotonous and a little challenging for students.

Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis to investigate trends in fitness technology research, aided by the VOSviewer software. Using relevant keywords, a comprehensive search was performed in the Scopus database, resulting in the extraction of 482 documents pertaining to fitness technology trends. The analysis revealed a significant growth trajectory in fitness technology publications, with development starting in 2013 and experiencing a notable increase in the 2020s. Productivity and impact were assessed across countries, with the United States, China, Italy, and the United Kingdom emerging as the most prolific contributors. Notably, China led in productivity with 132 publications, while the United States held the highest impact with 5196 citations. Furthermore, author keyword analysis identified three distinct clusters, highlighting interrelated themes such as "wearable technology" and "artificial intelligence." These findings underscore the evolving landscape of fitness technology research and its potential implications for practitioners and researchers alike. Leveraging the VOSviewer software, this bibliometric analysis serves as a valuable resource for identifying key areas of focus and partnership opportunities in the dynamic field of fitness technology.

Abstract

Local wisdom is a characteristic or specialty of a region that must be preserved. However, currently, the rapid development of technology has various impacts on life, especially the neglect of various games and cultures from a region. This study will develop local wisdom-based teaching materials in Physical Education and Sports subjects in Elementary Schools  Implementing local wisdom-based learning in basic learning is an effort that can be used as a basis for building awareness of local culture. The method used is research and development (R&D) with a 4D design (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The results of the Expert assessment show that Local Wisdom-based Teaching Materials are categorized as very good and feasible to be applied to learning. The results of the trial of local wisdom-based teaching module products show that the achievement of high learning motivation reaches 82.69% in every aspect of student learning motivation indicators. These results indicate that local wisdom-based teaching materials in PE subjects are feasible to use and further research can develop these teaching materials at the secondary education level

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship between mental health and motivation climate among coaches, considering gender differences. Although sports psychology among coaches is increasingly recognized as an essential element in athlete performance, research examining mental health and motivation climate among coaches remains limited. The study was conducted by administering questionnaires to 40 sports coaches, comprising 20 male coaches and 20 female coaches, active in various sports disciplines. The questionnaire was designed to assess the level of mental health and coaches' perceptions of the motivation climate created within the training environment. Statistical analysis results indicate that there is no significant correlation between mental health and the motivation climate created by coaches, both for male and female coaches. However, an interesting finding is that coaches' mental health has a greater influence on their performance than motivation climate. The implications of this research highlight the need for greater attention to coaches' mental health in efforts to enhance their performance. A better training environment can be created by considering coaches' mental well-being, which in turn will positively impact the motivation and performance of the athletes they coach. Additionally, this research also contributes to the literature on sports psychology, particularly in the context of sports coaching. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that coaches' mental health plays a crucial role in their success in coaching athletes, while the motivation climate created by them may not have the same significant impact. A better understanding of these dynamics can assist in the development of more effective strategies and programs to enhance coaches' well-being and the performance of the athletes they coach.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Physical Education (PE) learning in instilling and familiarizing positive character values in elementary school children. Character education is becoming increasingly important in the challenging era of globalization, where the flow of foreign cultures and the influence of social media can hinder the development of children's character. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving 20 students, 5 parents of students, 2 teachers, and 1 principal at Elementary School Angkasa I Lanud Sutan Syahrir Padang. Data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that PE activities are an effective medium in instilling character values such as discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. Teachers act as role models in teaching these values, while parental support strengthens character habits outside of school. Although effective, there are several challenges in its implementation, such as time constraints and lack of training for teachers. This study conveys that PE has great potential to contribute to the formation of a young generation that is not only physically healthy but also strong in character.

Abstract

Achieving peak athletic performance in sports requires a combination of physical prowess and psychological factors, including self-efficacy and self-motivation. This study investigate these variables among professional female futsal athletes in Indonesia, examining their interrelationship and the influence of team goals and backgrounds. The sample consists of 28 players each from Muara Enim United, targeting league victory, and Alive FC, a newly promoted team focused on avoiding relegation. Data collection utilized the the Athlete Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES) and Self-Motivation Scale II (SMS-II), administered during pre-season training via online surveys. Descriptive statistics reveal higher mean scores for self-efficacy and self-motivation in Muara Enim United compared to Alive FC, supporting the hypothesis that team objectives impact these psychological attributes. However, correlation analysis indicates no significant relationship between self-efficacy and self-motivation within either team, contrary to initial expectations. This underscores the complexity of motivational dynamics in sports, influenced by multifaceted factors beyond individual psychological traits. The findings suggest that while self-efficacy and self-motivation play pivotal roles in sports performance, their relationship may vary across different competitive contexts and team environments. This study contributes to the understanding of athlete motivation in professional sports and highlights the need for tailored psychological interventions to explore additional variables and contexts that may influence the interplay between self-efficacy, self-motivation, and athletic achievements in diverse sporting disciplines.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, reliable and effective physical education learning assessment instrument for use in physical education learning. This instrument is designed to measure various aspects such as cognitive, apactive and psychomotor of students comprehensively. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D), which involves 3 experts, consisting of physical education experts, measurement test experts and language experts, for the field trial group involving 20 small groups and 30 large groups, after the data is obtained and analyzed using statistical analysis with the SPSS application with the r correlation method. The results of the study showed that the resulting instrument had a "very good" level of validity and reliability. Physical education teachers assessed that the instrument created helped in conducting objective assessments. But it still requires further development such as combining with digital technology to make assessment data more efficient and accurate.
