Abstract

Abstract

Basketball is a high-intensity sport that requires exceptional physical performance, including strength, speed, and endurance. Beyond technical skills, physiological factors such as nutrition play a crucial role in optimizing performance. Articles were sourced from Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar, using keywords such as "nutrition," "physiology," "basketball performance," and "athlete performance." The findings highlight the importance of tailored nutrition plans and the need for ongoing education in sports nutrition to support the physiological demands of basketball. Proper nutrition supports muscle strength, endurance, and recovery after intense training or competition. This literature review explores the relationship between nutrition, physiology, and basketball performance. Key macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are essential for energy, muscle repair, and recovery, while micronutrients such as B vitamins, calcium, and magnesium contribute to overall health and performance. Maintaining fluid balance and electrolytes is vital to prevent performance decline, given the high intensity of the game. Physiological factors like body composition, aerobic capacity, and metabolism influence how the body utilizes nutrients during play. Moreover, adequate nutrition knowledge among athletes and coaches is essential to maximize performance and minimize injury risk. This review aims to synthesize current research findings to provide evidence-based nutritional strategies and physiological insights that can improve endurance, enhance performance, and support recovery in basketball players

Abstract

This literature review examines the role of nutrition in enhancing physical performance and preventing injuries in military activities. Optimal physical fitness is crucial in military settings, where personnel are regularly exposed to extreme physical demands, including intense training, combat operations, and harsh environmental conditions. Proper nutrition plays a pivotal role in maintaining energy, enhancing muscle recovery, and preventing injuries. Key macronutrients—carbohydrates, proteins, and fats—are essential for sustaining endurance, repairing muscles, and providing steady energy, particularly during prolonged operations. Additionally, micronutrients like vitamins D, calcium, magnesium, and potassium support bone and muscle health, while antioxidants (e.g., vitamins C, E, and zinc) reduce inflammation and accelerate recovery. The review also highlights the significance of hydration and the need for personalized nutrition strategies tailored to the unique demands of military personnel. Studies emphasize that nutrition interventions not only optimize physical performance but also mitigate injury risks and improve recovery, especially in cases of traumatic injuries such as brain trauma. The review suggests that military-specific nutrition guidelines are necessary to enhance readiness and resilience in soldiers. Furthermore, targeted dietary supplementation may help prevent deficiencies and improve overall health. In conclusion, the review underscores the critical role of evidence-based nutrition strategies in maintaining the physical and mental well-being of military personnel, ultimately supporting long-term operational readiness. Further research is recommended to refine these strategies and their application in military contexts

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between nutritional status and gross motor development in children aged 1-3 years in coastal areas with limited economic and infrastructure conditions. The aim of the study was to evaluate the correlation between nutritional status and gross motor abilities. A cross-sectional design with correlation analysis was employed. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements of nutritional status and gross motor skills assessment using the Pre-Development Questionnaire (KPSP). Results indicated that 50% of children were malnourished, while 33.3% showed deviations in gross motor skills. The correlation between nutritional status and gross motor development had a coefficient of 0.75, indicating a strong relationship. The t-test revealed a significant association (t = 5.136; t-table = 1.701). The conclusion of this study is that poor nutritional status negatively impacts children's gross motor development, whereas good nutritional status supports optimal physical and motor development. Recommendations include enhancing attention to children's nutritional intake and providing appropriate stimulation, along with further research to explore additional factors influencing gross motor development.

Abstract

The research aims to develop Curug Wadas Malang in Mangkang as a wellness tourism destination within Semarang City. Utilizing field research, the study involved direct observation and interaction with individuals in their natural environment, as outlined by Sugiyono (2018). Observations were conducted in the Curug Wadas Malang forest area, alongside interviews with forest rangers, local residents, and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) officers. This dual approach of simultaneous observations and interviews facilitated comprehensive data collection. In addition to fieldwork, a thorough literature review was undertaken to explore existing health tourism examples that incorporate natural elements such as forests, rivers, and waterfalls. The data gathered from both the literature and field research were thematically analyzed following the methodology proposed by Braun, Clarke & Hayfield (2022). The analysis revealed four key themes: the potential for wellness tourism at Curug Wadas Malang, the advantages of integrating forest, river, and waterfall elements in wellness tourism, a case study of Hoshinoya Karuizawa in Japan, and another case study from Kaua'i in Hawaii. The findings indicate that Curug Wadas Malang possesses significant natural resources and social capital through Community-Based Disaster Preparedness (CBDP) initiatives led by local communities. Therefore, a community-based tourism approach is recommended. This strategy emphasizes involving local populations in planning and implementing health tourism initiatives, enhancing disaster preparedness efforts while promoting sustainable tourism that benefits the community economically and socially

The results obtained are as follows, several tourist sports that are worthy of being developed, such as trekking, jumping, swimming, climbing, and tubing. Constraints on the development of tourism sports are very limited to sports budgets and human resources. Management is handed over to each tourist attraction management group under Pokdarwis which is coordinated by BUMDES Sambangan village. So far there has been no maximum cooperation between village government and regional government. The people of Sambangan village hope that the regional government can publicize and promote the existence of tourist sports objects to relevant agencies both nationally and internationally so that tourist sports activities can run optimally and smoothly
