Abstract

Hyperglycemia is a condition where blood sugar increases significantly which can lead to diabetes mellitus. Sambung Nyawa (Gynura Procumbens) leaves are a plant that is empirically believed to reduce hyperglycemia and has been scientifically proven based on several studies, however there has been no research that provides information about sembung nyawa leaves in infusion form. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites in the infusion of the leaves of Gynura Procumbens and its antihyperglycemia activity in male males. This study consisted of phytochemical and antihyperglycemia screening using a tolerance method induced by glucose monohydrate at a dose of 2g/kgBW. The test group consisted of a negative control group (Na CMC 1%), a positif group (Glibenclamide), and 3 groups of sambung nyawa leaf infusion (5%, 10%, 15%). The results of the research showed that the infusion of sembung nyawa leaves contained secondary metabolites, namely tannins, phenolics, flavonoids and saponins. The effect of reducing blood sugar levels in test animals showed a significant reduction (0.00<0.05) at a 10% concentration infusion compared to the negative control and not significant to the positive control. The conclusion shows that the infusion of sambung nyawa leaves has an antihyperglycemic effect. Abstract

This study aims to deeply investigate the philosophical and performative position of local values, particularly Maja Labo Dahu, within the socio-political ethical configuration of Bima society as a response to moral disorientation in the modern social order. Employing a historical-interpretive qualitative approach, this research integrates historical methods (heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography) with Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of social practice and cultural hermeneutics to uncover how the values of maja (shame) and dahu (fear) are constructed, reproduced, and interpreted transgenerationally as symbolic capital and public ethics. The findings reveal that Maja Labo Dahu is not merely a cultural relic, but a transcendental value system embodied in the habitus of Bima society, functioning as an imperative ethical institution that guides social actions and political legitimacy through affective and spiritual dimensions. This value system serves as a moral mechanism capable of disciplining social spaces without relying on the hegemony of formal regulation, thereby making it highly relevant as an ethical architecture for public policy, character education, and values-based leadership praxis. The study further indicates that the revitalization of local values such as Maja Labo Dahu can serve as a form of resistance against the erosion of public morality in the age of globalization, while simultaneously offering a conceptual foundation for constructing a substantive civic ethics rooted in the ontological relationship between humans, community, and the Divine within the Islamic-Bima cultural sphere.

Abstract

This study addresses the gap in understanding the effectiveness of deep learning approaches in geography education, particularly in higher education contexts where such methods are not yet fully integrated. The aim of this study was to explore students' perceptions of deep learning in geography courses, focusing on its impact on their understanding of the subject, critical thinking, student engagement, and the role of technology. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire administered to 100 geography students from a university in Indonesia. The questionnaire explored five key areas: understanding of deep learning, deep learning-based instructional processes, student engagement, the use of technology, and the development of higher-order thinking skills. The results showed that students perceived deep learning as effective in enhancing their understanding of geography, improving critical thinking skills, and increasing engagement in the learning process. Students also recognized the importance of integrating technology, such as digital tools and geospatial data, in fostering deeper learning experiences. However, while students expressed positive perceptions, the study highlighted the need for further professional development for educators in applying deep learning strategies effectively. In conclusion, deep learning has the potential to significantly enhance geography education by fostering deeper engagement, critical thinking, and the use of technology. It is recommended that higher education institutions invest in training faculty members to integrate deep learning methods into their teaching practices and that future research explore the long-term effects of deep learning on academic performance and real-world applications in geography.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the application of the hermeneutic approach in interpreting the verses of the Qur'an relating to education. In the modern context, hermeneutics is certainly seen as an alternative method of interpretation that seeks to connect the text, context, and subjectivity of the reader in order to gain a more relevant understanding of the educational values in the Qur'an. The research method used is descriptive qualitative based on literature studies as a step to visualize and analyze related to the study in this study to trace the history of hermeneutics, variants in hermeneutics, figures of Qur'anic hermeneutics in interpreting educational verses, and how the polemics that occur between groups that are pro-hermeneutics and against it. The results of the research that can be presented in this study are that the hermeneutic method can contribute to enriching the discourse of interpretation so that it can open space for a more dynamic and contextual understanding of educational verses such as Qs. Al-Alaq verses 1-5, Qs. Al-Mujadalah verse 11, Qs. Luqman verse 13, Qs. Al-Ahzab verse 21, and Qs. An-Nahl verse 125. However, in this case, caution is needed to maintain the integrity of the meaning contained in the text itself, especially the text of the Qur'an. With this research, the author certainly hopes it will be a valuable contribution as an interpretation methodology that is appropriate to the challenges of the future.
