Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the interconnection between organizational theory, power, and politics in the context of digital transformation, focusing on identifying new patterns in organizational power dynamics and their implications for management effectiveness Research Methodology: This study adopts a qualitative meta-analysis of 150 academic articles from reputable journals (2000-2024) using Scopus, Web of Science, and JSTOR databases. The analysis used ATLAS.ti software for thematic coding and content analysis, with validation through expert panel reviews from 12 senior academics in the field of organizational theory. Results: This study identifies five transformative patterns in organizational power: the digitization of authority, hybridization of power structures, emergence of virtual politics, reconfiguration of the influence base, and evolution of control mechanisms. The developed analytical framework integrates digital, structural, and relational dimensions in the analysis of an organization’s power. Conclusions: Digital transformation reshapes processes and power, requiring managers to adapt their strategies to balance authority, relationships, and virtual influence arenas. Limitations: The major limitations include a focus on the formal organization of the technology and financial sectors and the dominance of literature from advanced economies. The research does not include a direct empirical analysis of power dynamics in purely virtual organizations. Contribution: This study contributes to the development of contemporary organizational theory through the integration of digital perspectives in power analysis and provides a practical framework for organizational political management in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the synthesis of structural efficiency and organizational humanization in Islamic primary school management by integrating classical, neoclassical, and modern organizational theories. The research is motivated by the dominance of administrative-oriented managerial practices, while humanistic and systemic dimensions remain insufficiently integrated into Islamic primary school management. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed at MIS Roudtul Atfal Pagelaran. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the principal, teachers, and administrative staff as research participants. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman and was supported by NVivo software to enhance analytical rigor and transparency. The findings reveal that school management is still largely characterized by structural efficiency reflected in formal task distribution and orderly administrative procedures. However, organizational humanization emerges through informal communication, harmonious social relations, and facilitative school leadership. Furthermore, the implementation of a systems approach and the utilization of information technology remain at an early stage and do not yet fully reflect the characteristics of a T-Form organization. This study concludes that synthesizing structural efficiency and humanistic approaches is essential for developing effective, adaptive, and sustainable Islamic primary school management. The findings contribute empirically to the development of an integrative management model that balances organizational efficiency with human values and Islamic ethics.

Abstract

The pesantren environment functions as a comprehensive educational institution whose management significantly influences students’ mental well-being. This study examines the role of management at Al Rahmah Islamic Boarding School in supporting students’ mental health, particularly through disciplinary policies and administrators’ communication capacity. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and policy document analysis, then analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that disciplinary policies are designed as part of character building rather than purely repressive measures. However, discrepancies between policy ideals and practical implementation may create psychological pressure for students. Administrators’ communication skills, especially interpersonal and transcultural communication, are crucial in translating disciplinary norms into constructive understanding. Effective communication fosters motivation, reduces conflict, and supports students’ mental well-being. The study concludes that pesantren management plays a strategic role in facilitating mental well-being, emphasizing that supportive communication and dialogical relationships are more influential than strict rules alone. Continuous communication training and regular evaluation of disciplinary policies based on rahmatan lil ‘alamin principles are recommended.

Abstract

This article examines the life journey of an honorary teacher toward permanent teacher status using a narrative life-story research approach. This journey is understood as a transformative process involving not only administrative changes but also social, professional, psychological, and spiritual identity changes. This research shows that the dynamics of honorary teachers' lives, from initial idealism, social pressure, uncertainty about the future, the struggle to participate in the PPPK selection process, to finally receiving formal status as a permanent teacher, form a complex and gradual identity construction. The fifteen core paragraphs in this article are structured using the PREC format, with each paragraph using a unique reference as required. The results show that honorary status is often associated with structural injustice, low welfare, career uncertainty, and consistent psychological burdens. However, through long struggles, honorary teachers develop personal resilience, professional commitment, and spiritual meaning in their service. The transition to permanent teachers not only increases economic security but also strengthens social dignity, expands responsibilities, and forms a more stable professional identity. This study emphasizes that status change is not merely an administrative event, but an existential journey that reflects the dignity of the teaching profession.
