Abstract

The rapid development of the world of education requires students to have critical thinking skills and scientific process skills in order to be able to face various problems in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the effect of critical thinking skills on scientific process skills on the subject of material elasticity and Hooke's law. The type of research used in this study is associative quantitative research. The population used was all students with a sample of 30 grade XI students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research instruments used were essay tests and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical tests, the assumption test was the normality test and linearity test, and the hypothesis test was a simple linear regression test. The results of the descriptive statistical test showed that the critical thinking skills of students in each State High School were different, as well as the science process skills of students in each State High School were also different. The results of the normality test showed that the data was normally distributed with sig. > 0.05, then the results of the linearity test showed linear data with sig. > 0.05, and the results of the simple linear regression test showed that there was an influence between critical thinking skills and science process skills with a sig. < 0.05. So, it can be concluded that critical thinking skills influence scientific process skills in material elasticity and Hooke's law.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to explore the implementation of Technology-Based Assessment (TBA) with a multicultural approach in higher education to reduce cultural bias, increase accessibility, and create a fairer and more inclusive assessment system for students from various cultural backgrounds. Methodology: This study used a mixed-methods design with a convergent parallel approach. The sample in this study was taken using purposive sampling. Quantitative data were collected through an online survey using a Likert scale questionnaire created with Google Forms. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS. Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis was used to analyze qualitative data, ensuring comprehensive integration of findings. Main Findings: Multicultural Technology-Based Assessment (TBA) improves accessibility and flexibility of assessment in higher education. However, cultural biases in item design and language barriers have been found to impact perceptions of fairness and inclusivity. Students from different cultural backgrounds have varied experiences, highlighting the importance of adapting TBA to reflect cultural diversity. A multicultural approach to TBA has been shown to reduce disparities and support a more inclusive assessment environment. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a multicultural approach to Technology-Based Assessment (TBA) for the context of higher education in Indonesia, taking into account the diversity of cultures, languages, and local values. This study provides new insights into the development of inclusive and equitable TBA, offers practical solutions to reduce cultural bias, and broadens understanding in the design of technology-based assessments in multicultural environments.

Abstract

This study examined the impact of Assembler Edu-based e-modules on enhancing students' argumentation skills, perseverance, and curiosity in high school physics learning. Employing a quantitative ex-post facto design, the research utilized a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire to gather data. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods, including simple linear regression, were used for analysis. The findings reveal that using Assembler Edu-based e-modules significantly positively affected students' argumentation skills, with a 42.2% influence. Moreover, student responses indicated a 47.6% improvement in perseverance, while curiosity in learning renewable energy topics increased by 47.4%. These results highlight the considerable potential of integrating digital tools like Assembler Edu into the learning environment. This study introduces an innovative approach to physics education by incorporating interactive e-modules based on the Assembler Edu platform. Unlike traditional learning materials, these e-modules foster a more dynamic and engaging learning experience, enhancing students' critical thinking, perseverance, and curiosity. The research adds a fresh dimension to the existing literature by demonstrating how digital technology in science education can significantly improve core skills necessary for 21st-century learners. The study's implications suggest that integrating Assembler Edu-based e-modules into the school curriculum can enrich students' learning experiences, promote a deeper understanding of complex topics like renewable energy, and cultivate essential skills such as argumentation and perseverance, which are vital for success in both academic and real-world contexts.

Abstract

According to PISA, the literacy rate of Indonesian students is very far behind that of other countries. It makes the ability of Indonesian students to process science far behind other countries. This study aims to analyze the differences in the process skills of male and female students in public elementary schools and private madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This study uses a type of quantitative survey method. This research was conducted in two public elementary schools (SDN) and two private Ibtidaiyah schools (MIS). The population of this study amounted to 35 people per class. The instrument in this research is process skills (PS). The methods used in collecting data are surveys and questionnaires. The students' questionnaire answers on PS were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study were that there were significant differences in process skills between male and female students in private madrasah ibtidaiyah. This research will have an impact on explaining the level of difference in process skills between male and female students in public and private schools.
