Abstract

This research explains the interdisciplinary approach in the study of Islamic education, recognizing its approach in Islamic education, as well as its benefits, and also the important points of this interdisciplinary approach in Islamic education.  The research method used is using library sources. This approach includes the search for library materials or secondary data, including primary materials such as books, journals, and sources relevant to the object under study. In Islamic education, the interdisciplinary approach plays an important role in improving the quality of education that is more comprehensive and relevant to the problems faced by the world today. In addition, the interdisciplinary approach provides learners with the foundation to build new solutions to various modern problems faced by Muslims, both domestically and around the world. To achieve greater success, the application of the interdisciplinary approach in Islamic education must be supported by adjustments to the curriculum that harmonize religious and general sciences and the provision of competent human resources in various scientific fields.

Abstract

This research examines the function of taglines and the semiotic structure of taglines used in the Free Palestine movement. The research examines the issue of how these taglines function as communicative tools and struggle tools, shaping meaning through semiotic mechanisms. Despite their widespread use on digital platforms, academic exploration of the communicative role and semiotic dimensions of these taglines is rare. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study applied semiotic theory, specifically using Charles Sanders Peirce's triadic model to analyze the selected taglines. The results of this study reveal several types of taglines, including descriptive, specific, superlative, imperative, provocative, each of which has a function as a form of support, expressing solidarity and challenging the dominant narrative. This research also identifies a semiotic structure consisting of Representamen (tagline as a sign), object (socio-political issue) and interpretant (ideological meaning constructed by the audience). This research concludes that the tagline in the Free Palestine Movement does not only convey linguistic expression but is a powerful semiotic instrument to provide resistance and mobilize public sentiment.

Abstract

This article examines the transformation of the story of Prophet Khidir from its Qur'anic narrative into Sufi literary expressions known as Serat Suluk in the Indonesian archipelago. The study focuses on the processes of spiritual reinterpretation and cultural recontextualization undertaken by local Sufi scholars in reshaping the character of Khidir to align with the mystical and cultural values of Javanese Islam. Employing historical research methods—including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography—this study utilizes the theory of text transformation as its main analytical framework. The findings reveal that Sufi writers in the Nusantara did not alter the theological substance of Khidir’s story but constructed new narratives featuring localized mystical symbols and figures such as Sunan Kalijaga and Syekh Malaya. These figures function as seekers of divine knowledge and mystical insight under Khidir’s spiritual guidance. Such transformations reflect the adaptability of religious texts to local cultural contexts while preserving their core ethical and theological messages. Keywords: Prophet Khidir; Textual transformation; Sufi suluk; Islam Nusantara; Religious literature

Abstract

This study analyses the use of speech act in the diplomatic speeches of Retno Marsudi and Sugiono in international forums supporting Palestine. Based on Searle’s speech act theory and Toulmin’s argumentation theory, this study explores how each diplomat used linguistics strategies to construct meaning and covey political support. The data collection techniques in this research are first, watching videos of Retno Marsudi’s and Sugiono's speeches at the 16th UN and BRICS Summit through YouTube. Second, transcribing the selected videos. Third, searching for their speech texts on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Fourth, reading the text and then collecting data by selecting which phrases to take. The last is identifying the phrases that match the category characteristics. Using descriptive qualitative method in the analysis, Retno Marsudi tends to use directive speech acts to urge immediate action from the UN Security Council and commissive speech acts to emphasize Indonesia's commitment to justice. On the other hand, Sugiono uses expressive and directive speech acts to build international solidarity and invite Southern countries to support Palestine. The analysis shows that Retno Marsudi emphasizes direct conceptual meaning, while Sugiono uses associative meaning to strengthen global solidarity and justice. This difference reflects the rhetorical strategies used in accordance with their respective audiences and objectives in international forums. This research provides insight into the use of language in diplomatic forums that can influence policy in international relations.

Abstract

AbstractSemiotics as a science that becomes a bridge in understanding the sea of literature from the Qur'an is something that must be studied when studying the Qur'an. Of the many studies discussed in semiotics, one of them is the application of symbols in the Qur'an. In this modern era, the Al-Qur’an does not only appear with symbols indicating waqf but also appears with color symbols that represent tajwid and other artisans. This paper aims to reveal the results of research on color symbols in the Qur'anic mushaf in the modern era. The methodology used by the author in this paper is a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. The results of the study show that the application of symbols in semiotic studies is evident in the Qur'an printed in the millennial era, especially in symbols in the form of colors. The application of color in modern Al-Qur’an manuscripts makes the Al-Qur’an more informative, especially for children who are just learning the Qur'an. The color symbols in the Al-Qur’an mushaf are very helpful in memorizing the Al-Qur’an.Keywords: Alquran; Color; Symbol. AbstrakSemiotika sebagai sebuah ilmu yang menjadi jembatan dalam memahami lautan sastra dari al-Qur’an menjadi hal yang wajib dipelajari saat mengkaji tentang al-Qur’an. Abstract

This study explores the response of KH. Saifuddin Zuhri, one of Indonesia’s prominent Islamic scholars and independence fighters, to the Jewish occupation of Palestine during the period 1936–1948. This period was marked by escalating conflict between the Palestinian population and Zionist groups supported by Britain under the British Mandate for Palestine. The focus of this research is on how KH. Saifuddin Zuhri, as part of the Indonesian Islamic elite, viewed and responded to the Palestinian issue, which at the time had become a central concern in the Islamic world. The study employs a historical method consisting of four main stages: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The findings reveal that KH. Saifuddin Zuhri consistently opposed the Jewish occupation of Palestine through his writings, speeches, and advocacy in both religious and national forums. His response was rooted in the spirit of Islamic solidarity (ukhuwah Islamiyah) and anti-colonial principles that formed part of the broader struggle of the global Muslim community during that era. These findings indicate that the Palestinian issue was not only a concern for the Arab world but also received serious attention from Indonesian
