Abstract

As a nation with a predominantly Muslim population, Indonesia bears a profound responsibility to cultivate Islamic religious education (PAI) that transcends mere knowledge transfer and serves as a means to shape the character of the younger generation. PAI is anticipated to foster a character rooted in the noble values of Islam, as well as to internalize moral and ethical principles as guiding standards in daily life. However, religious education at the school level faces considerable challenges, as conventional teaching methods tend to result in minimal student engagement. This research aims to explore the impact of revitalizing Islamic religious education at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Baitul Arqom on the character development of students. Employing a qualitative approach, this study utilizes interviews, participatory observations, and focused group discussions to gather data. The analysis reveals that the implementation of routine activities, such as dhuha prayers, exemplary teaching by educators, and active learning methods positively contributes to the enhancement of students' discipline, sense of responsibility, and social concern. This research also uncovers a positive correlation between the quality of religious education and the character development of students, thereby underscoring the necessity for innovation within the curriculum and teaching methodologies of PAI. Recommendations are put forth for the development of educational programs that are more responsive to the demands of the times and the aspirations of the younger generation, ensuring that religious education in Indonesia can cultivate individuals who are intellectually astute and morally upright.

Abstract

This article was initiated with the purpose of knowing and understanding the swear words in the Indonesian translation of Surah As-Syams. Because, the Qur'an is a holy book from Allah SWT. So we must understand it. But over time there are various understandings of the words contained in the Qur'an, especially the swear words in Surah As-Syams. The author here uses the hermeneutic theory of Fazlur Rahman. The methodology used is a qualitative method. The swear words is a description of the seriousness of something that is said. So, it is crucial to know and understand the meaning of the swear words. There are several swear words found in Surah As-Syams which will be the object of discussion in this article.

Abstract

Religious moderation serves as a pillar of unity and diversity, a glue and unifier of the nation. It helps prevent conflicts that may arise due to differences in religious beliefs and practices. This study uses content analysis and survey methods, with data collection through interview techniques, literature studies, and surveys of teachers and students at the Madrasah Aliyah in the city of Bandung. This study aims to determine the moderation material in the Quran Hadith book and the responses of teachers and students to the application of learning materials based on religious moderation. The results of the study indicate that the religious moderation education material at Madrasah Aliyah in the Quran Hadith textbook is more associated with the values contained in the holy texts, as well as the understanding and practice of moderation based on the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, covering several themes, namely balance (tawazun), religious tolerance (tasamuh), responsible attitude, and maintaining trust. The concept of religious moderation is easy to understand and implement in life as students’ attitudes are more open to accepting opinions and respecting differences. One effort to instill an attitude of religious moderation among students can be made by integrating the values of religious moderation into the teaching materials of the Quran and Hadith.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the purpose of interpreters using several symbols in their interpretation. The Javanese language used in the interpretation is the language that is often used in the life of Islamic boarding schools and society. The symbols expressed by the interpreter aim to make the reader able to sort and understand them with the concepts presented by the interpreter. This research will be examined using a qualitative analysis of literature which will thoroughly discuss material related to the intertextual of al-Ibriz’s interpretation with Jalalain’s interpretation. Understanding will expand and mature if the existing theory is practiced into the verses of the Qur’an. So the researcher will try to explore the verses of the Qur’an which contain elements of faidah in juz 5 which are contained in three verses. The results of the research conducted illustrate that a manuscript text carries thoughts that existed in the past and then these thoughts are developed. Al-Ibriz's interpretation with its inherent Javanese provides several unique elements of culture which are applied in religious studies, especially in the field of interpretation.

Abstract

Transformasi manajemen peserta didik di lembaga pendidikan Islam sangat diperlukan dalam menyongsong era Society 5.0 yang ditandai dengan integrasi teknologi canggih, seperti kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence), Internet of Things (IoT), dan big data, yang memengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan termasuk pendidikan untuk menghadapi tantangan utama yakni minimnya adaptasi teknologi dalam manajemen peserta didik serta pendekatan pembelajaran yang masih konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi inovatif dalam mengoptimalkan pengelolaan peserta didik guna meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan yang relevan dengan perkembangan zaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang mengumpulkan data melalui analisis berbagai sumber literatur, termasuk jurnal, artikel, dan buku, yang relevan dengan transformasi pendidikan Islam dan teknologi di era Society 5.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi teknologi dapat meningkatkan efisiensi, akurasi, dan kualitas layanan pendidikan. Penggunaan teknologi memungkinkan pengelolaan data peserta didik yang lebih baik, personalisasi pembelajaran, serta pengambilan keputusan berbasis data. Selain itu, pemanfaatan alat analitik dan platform digital mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Namun, transformasi ini memerlukan dukungan kuat dari tenaga pendidik yang kompeten, fasilitas memadai, dan pendekatan yang seimbang antara teknologi modern dan nilai-nilai keislaman. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya inovasi dalam manajemen peserta didik untuk menghadapi tantangan Society 5.0 tanpa kehilangan identitas pendidikan Islam. Diharapkan, implementasi strategi berbasis teknologi dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan Islam sekaligus membentuk generasi yang adaptif, kompeten, dan berakhlak mulia.

Abstract

Globalisasi telah membawa dampak signifikan terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan, dengan tantangan utama bagi pendidik di sekolah negeri dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam ke dalam sistem pembelajaran multikultural dan sekuler. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan tersebut dan memberikan rekomendasi strategis bagi pendidik. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi literatur dan wawancara mendalam terhadap pendidik di SMPN 2 Kangayan Sumenep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tantangan utama meliputi kurangnya pemahaman mendalam tentang nilai-nilai Islam di kalangan pendidik, pengaruh budaya global yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam, dualisme sistem pendidikan yang memisahkan pelajaran agama dari mata pelajaran lainnya, serta minimnya dukungan struktural dalam bentuk kebijakan dan materi ajar yang mendukung integrasi nilai-nilai Islam. Untuk mengatasi tantangan ini, diperlukan pelatihan intensif bagi pendidik, penerapan pendekatan holistik dalam pembelajaran, penggunaan teknologi untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam, serta kolaborasi antara pendidik, orang tua, dan masyarakat. Dengan pendekatan inklusif dan terarah, integrasi nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam di sekolah negeri dapat memperkuat karakter siswa, meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, dan menciptakan generasi yang berakhlak mulia, toleran, serta siap menghadapi tantangan globalisasi

Abstract

The Abbasid Dynasty achieved numerous accomplishments. Many aspects thrived during the Abbasid era, particularly in knowledge and scholarship, including the fields of science, health, religious studies, and literature. During this period, many Europeans traveled to the Abbasid realm to seek knowledge. Therefore, this research aims to discuss one of the literary works that emerged during the Abbasid era, specifically poetry written by the renowned poet Abu Al-‘Atahiyyah, who was a celebrated literary figure of his time. Additionally, the research methodology used is a literature study, with scholarly works and books serving as the references for the study. In his poetry, there are many moral messages, and the Arabic language used remains close to classical Arabic rules. Abu Al-‘Atahiyyah was known for his asceticism and skill in poetry, which led to the creation of numerous poems containing moral educational values about human asceticism. His poetry also features a poetic style that is easy to understand.

Abstract

This research explores Roz's emotional growth as reflected through her language choices in The Wild Robot movie using the Systemic functional Linguistics (SFL) framework, specifically the Mood system, as well as Barrett's Constructed Emotion theory. This study aims to analyze how Roz's transition from a task-focused robot to an emotionally aware being is reflected through Mood types: declarative, interrogative, and imperative. Using a qualitative descriptive method, Roz's utterances are analyzed based on Mood types and their interpersonal meanings. The results show that declaratives dominate at all stages of Roz's development, but change from mechanical and logical statements to reflective and relational expressions. Interrogatives decreased in frequency, but became more profound when used to explore abstract concepts such as love. Meanwhile, imperatives transform from procedural commands to expressions of protection and care. These linguistic changes reflect Roz's emotional development, which is supported by Barrett's theory that emotions are constructed through social, psychological, and neurological experiences. This research highlights the relationship between language and character development, and contributes to understanding how fictional dialog can convey emotional development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze feminist values in literature during the Abbasid era, particularly in the representation of women in the poem "Quluubu An-Nisaai Sakhurun" by Abbas bin Ahnaf. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques that include literature reviews and analysis of relevant documents. The study identifies that feminism in this work is evident through the depiction of women as objects of admiration while simultaneously portraying them as complex characters. Social and cultural factors, such as patriarchy, shape how women are represented in this poem, reflecting the norms prevailing during that period. This study contributes by highlighting the relevance of feminist perspectives in understanding classical literature and providing insights into the relationship between social structures and literary creation.

Abstract

In recent years, paylater services in e-commerce, such as Shopee and Tokopedia, have experienced rapid growth by offering consumers the convenience of flexible shopping without paying in advance. This study aims to analyze the comparison of simple and compound interest models applied in the paylater schemes of the two platforms, with a focus on their impact on total payments and users' financial decisions. Primary data is obtained from the fee structure and interest rates applied by Shopee and Tokopedia, while secondary data is taken from related literature. The study used a quantitative approach with a case study method, involving payment simulations based on various nominal transaction scenarios (IDR 500,000, IDR 1,000,000, IDR 5,000,000) and tenors (3, 6, 12 months) calculated using Microsoft Excel. The results of the study show that Tokopedia offers a more economical fee structure, especially for large amounts and long tenors, with an interest of 2.75% per month and a fixed handling fee of IDR 5,000. In contrast, Shopee, although applying an interest of 2.95% per month, has a higher total payment due to a percentage-based handling fee of 1%. This study provides recommendations to users to choose a platform according to their financial needs. Tokopedia is recommended for large transactions and long tenors, while Shopee is more suitable for small transactions with short tenors. These results are also expected to be a reference for service providers to adjust their policies to improve competitiveness and user satisfaction. This study provides in-depth insight into the influence of interest models in paylater schemes and helps users make wiser financial decisions.
