Abstract

Learning is a complex process that involves a person physically and mentally throughout his life. The learning process occurs because of the interaction between a person and his environment. Therefore, learning can occur anytime and anywhere. One sign that a person is said to have experienced a learning process is a change in behavior in that person which includes changes in the level of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The interactions that occur during the learning process are influenced by the environment, which includes students, teachers, librarians, principals, learning materials (books, modules, magazines, video or audio recordings, etc.) and various learning resources and facilities (overhead projectors, radio, television, computers, libraries, etc.). In the teaching and learning process, the presence of media has a fairly important meaning. Because in these activities, the ambiguity of the material presented can be helped by presenting media as an intermediary. Although the initial goal of learning is good, if it is not supported by the right media, this good goal is very difficult to achieve properly. A media in learning will affect whether information is complete and on target or not, and affect the final results of the learning process. However, even so, there are still many educational institutions that are less concerned with the existence of media. It is proven that there are many cases of educators who do not use media in accordance with the material being taught, so that in learning Islamic religious education, students have many difficulties in absorbing and understanding the lessons delivered, Educators have difficulty delivering lesson materials, many students feel bored with Islamic religious education lessons. This can be identified as a problem of lack of understanding of educators in the application of media in the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ religious values in madrasas as well as to evaluate supporting and inhibiting factors experienced by the teachers. This study used literature study as the research method. Ten articles were taken as the data of this study. To analyze the data, content analysis was implemented. The findings reported that PAI teachers used expository strategies for developing students’ religious values in madrasas. The development of religious values is divided into three types, namely the formation of faith, the formation of worship, and the formation of morals. PAI teacher strategies in fostering religious values are in the form of doing religious activities, such as istighasah, dhuha prayer, reading prayers before and after studying, and reading the quran. Supporting factors for the strategy of fostering religious values in madrasas are the increasing interest of students in the religious field, cooperation between teachers, and well-functioning madrasa regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of an academic visit conducted by the Scientific Consortium of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung to the strengthening of knowledge integration, institutional development, and academic collaboration at UIN Alauddin Makassar. Key concepts employed in this study include knowledge integration, higher education benchmarking, epistemic networking, and Islamic higher education governance. This research adopts a qualitative case study approach, utilizing field observations, focus group discussions, limited interviews, and institutional document analysis. The scope of the study covers the Faculty of Ushuluddin, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Alauddin Makassar. The findings reveal that knowledge integration at UIN Alauddin Makassar has moved beyond conceptual formulation toward institutionalization, as reflected in integrative curricula, research governance, laboratory development, and value-based professional education. Academic visits function as an effective mechanism for institutional learning and epistemic reflection, fostering the consolidation of integrative paradigms and strategic institutional development within Islamic higher education. Key challenges include limitations in research infrastructure, disparities in human resource capacity, and the rigidity of national accreditation and professional standards. This study recommends strengthening inter-institutional research collaboration, developing sustainable benchmarking models, and deepening governance-based knowledge integration. This study contributes empirically to the literature on knowledge integration in Islamic higher education by demonstrating how integrative paradigms are operationalized through institutional policies, academic practices, and benchmarking-based collaboration.

Abstract

This article discusses the study of the interpretation orientation (ittijah al-mufassir) of Tarjuman al-Mustafid, as a pioneer in the development of the 'fardi' (individual) interpretation of Nusantara in the Century. This article uses a qualitative approach and an exploratory-phenomenological approach. Al-Singkili's scientific odyssey to the Arabian Peninsula to the 'maqam' that has matured in various sciences. After returning to Aceh, al-Singkili was appointed mufti of the kingdom by contributing to the thought and administrative aspects. The lineage of thought of the sanad al-Singkili is directly related to the author of 'Tafsir al-Jalalain'. As a stream of practical Sufism (Tasawwuf Al-'Amali) and the depth of Shari'a knowledge that he controls, he always thinks moderately in making decisions and religious fatwas. This can be done in his response when faced with a mystical dispute that occurred between the thoughts of Hamzah al-Fanzhuri and Nuruddin al-Raniri. Al-Singkili tried to be moderate without making accusations, but did not agree with al-Raniri's position. This wasathiyyah thought can be found in the explanations presented in his commentary when faced with anthropopomorphic verses.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the attitude of Shaykh Nawawi al-Bantani toward Dutch colonialism as reflected in his interpretation of the qitāl (warfare) verses in Tafsir Marāḥ Labīd. This research employs a qualitative approach based on library research using the thematic (maudhū‘i) method of Qur’anic interpretation. The analytical framework refers to the classification of qitāl verses proposed by Mahmud Syaltut, particularly those related to the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims. The analysis focuses on Shaykh Nawawi’s interpretation of Q.S. al-Hajj (22):39–41 and Q.S. al-Baqarah (2):190–194. The findings indicate that Shaykh Nawawi understands warfare in the Qur’an as a defensive act aimed at responding to oppression and protecting religious freedom, while emphasizing ethical limitations in conflict. Although his interpretation does not explicitly connect the qitāl verses with Dutch colonialism, it can be understood within the intellectual-historical context of the nineteenth century as reflecting a religious stance that tends to be non-confrontational yet critical of oppression, particularly through the strengthening of Islamic scholarly traditions and intellectual networks in the Nusantara.

Abstract

Al-Mutanabbi ranks as one of the most renowned poets in the history of Arabic literature, with his poems reflecting his complex personality and ambitions. This research aims to explore the main themes in Al-Mutanabbi's works, such as identity, self-pride, praise, social critique, and commentary on societal dynamics. By employing textual analysis and historical study methods, this research examines how Al-Mutanabbi used poetry to express his thoughts, construct his self-image, and deliver critiques of social conditions and patronage relationships during his time. The findings reveal that Al-Mutanabbi consistently projected a strong sense of confidence and pride in his works, portraying himself as a great poet. He built relationships with rulers through laudatory poems but also expressed bold criticism of opponents and the societal conditions of his era. His immense ambition is evident in his works, which often highlight the conflict between personal aspirations and the socio-political challenges of the Abbasid era. This study provides new insights into the relationship between a poet's life and the literary works he produces. It also emphasizes how poetry serves as a tool for constructing self-identity and responding to the dynamics of power in the classical era.

Abstract

Abu Nawas, a prominent poet from the Abbasid Dynasty, was renowned for his poems that reflected various themes of life, ranging from praises to rulers to ascetic and religious poetry later in his life. This study aims to analyze stylistics in Arabic literature, particularly the poem Humility and Hope for Divine Forgiveness by Abu Nawas. Stylistics, known in Arabic as ‘ilm al-uslub, is a linguistic and literary study that focuses on the style of language in literary works. This research adopts a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected from various sources, including books, articles, and journals. The findings reveal that the verses in the poem Humility and Hope for Divine Forgiveness by Abu Nawas fall under the category of Uslub Adabi (literary style) since uslub refers to expressions that use language as their medium. This can be observed in the poem's exaggerated praise of Caliph Harun al-Rashid. However, with his humility, Abu Nawas composed poems aimed at criticizing contemporary poets who often imitated ancient poets by subtly introducing themes of ruin. When he recited the poem The Caravan of the Bani Mudhar, considered offensive to the Caliph, Harun al-Rashid became angry and imprisoned him. After his imprisonment, Abu Nawas's poetic themes transformed into more religious ones. This transformation can be seen in his psalms of hope for divine forgiveness, reflecting his spiritual journey toward God. He began contemplating resurrection and life after death, which led him to alter the tone of his prayers and supplications to Allah. Additionally, three character education values are embedded in the poem: humility, honesty, and religiosity.
