Abstract

Background: First Aid in emergency situations is an essential skill that nursing students must possess. Adequate knowledge of First Aid is crucial in saving lives and preventing the worsening of patients’ conditions. However, many students still have suboptimal levels of First Aid knowledge. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of simulation-based learning on First Aid knowledge in emergency situations among nursing students at STIKES Estu Utomo. Method: This research used a one-group pretest-posttest design without a control group. A total of 43 nursing students were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using paired t-test. Results: Before the intervention, the average knowledge score was 62.74 ± 9.446. After simulation-based learning, the average score increased to 77.29 ± 7.717, with a mean difference of 14.559 ± 1.408. The paired t-test showed a significant difference with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), and the 95% confidence interval ranged from 11.694 to 17.423. Conclusion: Simulation-based learning is proven effective in increasing nursing students’ knowledge of First Aid in emergency situations. It is recommended that this method be implemented in nursing education curricula to enhance students’ readiness in responding to emergencies professionally

Abstract

Background:  Stress is one of the psychological problems frequently experienced by the elderly due to physical, social, and emotional changes associated with aging. High stress levels can reduce quality of life and increase the risk of physical and mental health problems. One of the non-pharmacological methods to reduce stress is lemongrass aromatherapy (Cymbopogon citratus), which contains citral and geraniol compounds known for their calming effects and ability to lower cortisol levels. Objective: To determine the effect of lemongrass aromatherapy on stress levels among the elderly at BPSTW Yogyakarta Unit Budi Luhur. Method: The study used a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. The population consisted of 80 elderly residents, with 57 respondents selected using stratified random sampling. The instrument used was the DASS-42 questionnaire to measure stress levels before and after the intervention. The intervention was conducted using lemongrass aromatherapy via a reed diffuser twice daily for two weeks. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Before the intervention, most respondents experienced moderate stress with an average score of 16.7. After the intervention, stress levels decreased to mild with an average score of 11.4. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect of lemongrass aromatherapy on reducing stress levels among the elderly. Conclusion: Lemongrass aromatherapy has a significant effect on reducing stress levels among the elderly at BPSTW Yogyakarta Unit Budi Luhur. It can be used as a complementary non-pharmacological therapy to promote relaxation and improve psychological well-being in older adults.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of environmental innovation and profitability on the risk of stock price drops in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Using quantitative methods, the research examines annual financial reports for 2021-2022. The findings reveal that both environmental innovation and profitability significantly impact stock price risk. Companies that implement effective environmental innovation strategies reduce long-term risks and enhance investor confidence, while high profitability strengthens financial performance and lowers volatility. These results provide critical insights for investors and managers to mitigate financial risks.

Abstract

This research examines the transparency and governance aspects of foundations in Indonesia as nonprofit organizations, and compares them with foundation regulations in several countries to gain insight into their legal structures, obligations, and social responsibilities. The study addresses three key questions: first, how foundations are structured within Indonesia's legal framework, focusing on governance; and second, a comparative analysis of how Malaysia and India regulate foundations, their responsibilities, and operational frameworks. The research also evaluates how foundations can improve their societal contributions while ensuring transparency and accountability. Using a qualitative approach with a normative and comparative design, the study analyzes Indonesia's regulatory framework under Law No. 28/2004 and compares it with international practices to identify best practices. The findings reveal that Indonesian foundations must uphold transparency and accountability, including the obligation to produce annual reports that are auditable and subject to strict oversight to prevent fund misuse. The conclusion highlights that while regulations differ across countries, all emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability to ensure foundations operate effectively and contribute positively to society. Adhering to these principles is essential for the sustainability of foundations and enhancing their social impact.

Abstract

Interactive learning media must be capable of presenting the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an engaging and easily understandable way for students in support of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. However, the effectiveness of such media is strongly influenced by user interface (UI) quality, as poor UI design can cause confusion, reduce user engagement, and hinder users' understanding of SDG concepts. This research aims to develop and analyze interactive learning media that support the dissemination of SDG content. The Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method was used to develop the interactive learning medium, and the user interface was analyzed using the heuristic evaluation method, with questionnaires distributed to 200 high school students. The results show that the developed interactive learning medium achieved a "High" level of UI effectiveness with an average score of 4.04. The aesthetic and minimalist design principle (HE08) was the indicator that scored highest, indicating that respondents considered the system's visual design well implemented, ensuring users felt comfortable and did not encounter significant usability issues. The principles of error prevention (HE05) and helping users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors (HE09) received lower scores, highlighting areas that require improvement. Overall, studies have demonstrated that the interactive learning medium improves student engagement and the learning experience with respect to SDG concepts. This research contributes to the development of interactive learning media and guides future research on interface improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of digital transformation in accounting and the effectiveness of internal control systems on the quality of financial reports in an integrated logistics services company. The method used is a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), with data collected from 35 respondents who are involved in financial and accounting activities within the company. The analysis focuses on evaluating the relationships between digital transformation, internal control systems, and financial reporting quality. The research findings indicate that digital transformation in accounting (coefficient = 0.658; p-value = 0.000) and internal control systems (coefficient = 0.308; p-value = 0.023) have a positive and significant effect on the quality of financial reports. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.822 shows that both independent variables are able to explain 82.2% of the variation in financial report quality, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the model. These results confirm that the implementation of digital technology supported by an effective internal control system can significantly improve the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, and reliability of financial reporting in organizations.
