Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates how students perceive their English-speaking ability after taking online classes using the DingTalk app. Using an ethnographic case study and photovoice, data from international students who enrolled at a Thai public university were evaluated to shed light on how students rate their use of English in online classrooms. During the pandemic, student activities with online learning emerged as a lived experience, indicating a convergence of student concerns. The primary aspects of these issues include student expectations for the time and space of online learning, self-motivation, and the participation of others, especially international students and the faculty member's ability to communicate effectively. Ultimately, international student engagement is determined by the congruence between the student's expectations regarding these dimensions and the student's overarching educational and personal goals for enrolling in the course.

Abstract

The low Indonesian learning outcomes of the first-grade students at SDN 1 CRJ is caused by the implementation of teacher-centered learning methods like the lecture method. To overcome it, the Classroom Action Research in this paper applies the Matching Games game method to students. This paper reports an improvement of students’ learning outcomes in reading and writing Indonesian learning subjects in chapter 5 of "Teman Baru" with the entitled theme of "Bersikap Baik terhadap Teman" through the Matching Games method. There were three cycles of CAR applied to 12 students, which contains the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages for each cycle. The data analysis technique used in the research was descriptive, which compared cross-cycle test scores with indicators of success. The results indicate that the average score of students’ learning outcomes in cycle I was 66.66 with only 50% of students who are able to achieve the learning objectives. Whereas in cycle II it was 80.83 with 90% of students who achieve the learning objectives. Based on the research results explained previously, the researcher concludes the results of Indonesian learning outcomes in reading and writing that students can be improved by applying the Matching Games method for elementary students at grade 1.

Abstract

This study aims to assess pre-service and in-service teacher competency mastery in the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG). Ultimately, teachers must integrate their pedagogy and content knowledge with technology or Pedagogical Technology content knowledge (TPACK) as a learning technique that highlights certain technologies and applications. Narrative inquiry case studies were used in this study to examine how 12 PPG members applied TPACK personally and publically, as well as their implementation experiences and disputes. In addition, this study confirms prior findings that technology integration improves the work efficiency of in-service EFL instructors. Finally, this study found that pre-service FLE teachers defined their experiences and stories using TPACK-related adjectives such as instructional, consistent with aims, appropriate to PPG targets, thought-provoking, and innovative.

Abstract

The relationship between diversification and leverage strategies on firm performance is complex and varies depending on factors such as industry, country, and type of diversification strategy. This study aims to determine the effect of business diversification and leverage on company performance in manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018 to 2022. The research population consists of manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector listed on the IDX during the specified period. Purposive sampling was employed to select 24 companies for the study. The data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings reveal that both business diversification and leverage exert a positive and significant influence on company performance. Additionally, the study uncovers that the impact of business diversification on company performance is positively moderated by leverage. These results provide valuable insights into the dynamics of diversification and leverage strategies in the context of manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector in Indonesia.
