Abstract

Character education rooted in indigenous knowledge offers a remedy for instilling traditional values into students' character development. The local wisdom of Riau Malay Songket is one of the local wisdom that provides a strong cultural foundation for students to build a solid identity and understand the importance of cultural diversity. The objective of this study is to evaluate how effective character education based on the local wisdom of Songket Melayu Riau is in shaping the character of high school students. This research uses quantitative methods with a one-group pretest-posttest Design approach. Purposive sampling strategies were used to choose 30 class X students from SMAN 1 Riau as the research subjects. A questionnaire that the researcher created was employed as the study tool. The data analysis for this study used the paired t-test, N-Gain test, homogeneity test, and normality test. With a significance level below 0.05, the study's findings show a significant difference in students' character development before and after character education based on Songket Melayu Riau's local wisdom. Furthermore, the N-Gain evaluation indicates a score of 31.53, indicating a 32% rise in quantifiable character. Therefore, implementing character education aligned with Songket Melayu Riau's traditional wisdom effectively develops students' moral character.

Abstract

Character education often overlooks the integration of local wisdom, despite its potential to significantly influence students' moral and ethical development. This study investigates the impact of incorporating the Tepuk Tepung Tawar tradition’s local wisdom values on students' character development. The research method used is an experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this research consisted of 40 students taken using a saturated sampling technique. This study's data collecting procedures included interviews and test results. The data analysis technique for this research uses the paired t-test and the N-Gain test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in student character building before and after the application of the local wisdom values of Tepung Tawar, with a significance value of less than 0.05. The N-Gain Test results showed a score of 70%, indicating an increase in student character scores after the application of the local wisdom values of Tepung Tawar. Therefore, improving student character can be done by teachers integrating local wisdom values to students in history learning.

Abstract

Salah satu teknologi yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran Sejarah adalah teknologi Augmented Reality (AR). Teknologi AR menunjukkan potensi yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan pengalaman belajar. Peneliti mengembangkan sebuah media pembelajaran Augmented Reality Candi Muara Takus berbasis aplikasi android sebagai media pembelajaran. Candi Muara Takus adalah satu objek wisata Sejarah Provinsi Riau yang terletak di Kabupaten Kampar. Dengan dikembangkannya Augmented Reality ini, selain menjadi media pengenalan objek wisata, pembelajaran sumber Sejarah Candi Muara Takus juga menjadi lebih mudah dan menyenangkan. Peneliti melakukan dua tahapan pengujian untuk mengevaluasi kualitas Augmented Reality yang telah dikembangkan, yaitu Blackbox dan Usability Testing. Dari Blackbox Testing, Aplikasi Augmented Reality tidak memiliki error dan semua fungsionalitas aplikasi berjalan dengan baik. Dari Usability Testing, disimpulkan bahwa Augmented Reality Candi Muara Takus telah memenuhi kelima aspek pengujian usability dan memiliki nilai usability yang baik yaitu 3.96.

Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF ANDROID-BASED RIAU PROVINCIAL WARRIOR FIGURE E-MODULE AS A DIGITAL LEARNING RESOURCE FOR LOCAL HISTORY Traditionally, teachers have often developed teaching materials using conventional module approaches. Conventional modules are teaching materials presented in print format, which are frequently unappealing and inflexible, leading to a lack of interest from students. Therefore, E-Modules development is highly suitable because they offer numerous benefits, particularly regarding accessibility. This research aims to develop an Android-based E-Module about the heroic figures from Riau Province. The objectives of this design are (1) to create an E-Module that is easily accessible anytime and anywhere and (2) to introduce heroic figures and local history of Riau Province through an Android-based technological approach. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method to design and evaluate the effectiveness of the developed product. The development model used is the 4D (Four D) model, which includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research indicates that the designed E-Module meets adequacy standards and can be used as a learning media. Additionally, student feedback on the E-Module has been very positive. Selama ini guru sering mengembangkan bahan ajar dengan pendekatan modul konvensional. Modul konvensional adalah bahan ajar yang disampaikan dalam format cetak yang seringkali tidak aktraktif dan tidak fleksibel sehingga membuat siswa tidak tertarik untuk membacanya. Untuk itu, pengembangan E-Modul sangat cocok diterapkan karena memiliki manfaat yang banyak sekali terutama terkait aksesibilitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-Modul mengenai cerita tokoh pejuang dari Provinsi Riau yang berbasis android. Tujuan dari perancangan ini yaitu untuk (1) menciptakan E-Modul yang mudah diakses kapan saja dan dimana saja serta (2) mengenalkan tokoh pejuang dan sejarah lokal Provinsi Riau dengan pendekatan teknologi berbasis android. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) untuk merancang dan mengevaluasi efektivitas produk yang dirancang. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4D (Four D) yang meliputi define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan) dan disseminate (penyebaran). Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa E-Modul yang dirancang memenuhi standar kecukupan dan dapat diterapkan sebagai media pembelajaran. Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap E-Modul tersebut menunjukan reaksi yang sangat positif.

Abstract

Student teams’ achievement divisions (STAD) is a learning method that can provide active responses to students so that learning is maximized, but this method is still very rarely used by social studies teachers, thus making social studies learning less than optimal. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the question students have method in social studies learning to increase student activity and learning outcomes. The procedure divides two class groups experimental and control using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. A sample of 122 seventh-grade kids from a junior high school in Yogyakarta was utilized as the population. While instruments, interviews, and observations were employed in the data collecting process, cluster random sampling was the sampling strategy. An N-gain score test and an independent sample T-test were utilized in the data analysis. The findings demonstrated that, when compared to traditional classroom settings, the STAD's social studies teaching methodology was able to improve student engagement and learning outcomes. The N-gain score test was classified as medium, and the independent sample T-test yielded a significance value of 0.0000.05. Thus, the STAD approach has a huge influence, which makes.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of using augmented reality (AR) at Muara Takus Temple as a source of history learning for students' historical understanding. Experimental research methods were involved in this research. 88 secondary school students were used as samples. They were split into two groups, the experimental group and the control group, each of which had 44 randomly chosen participants. A history test and a questionnaire used for collecting data. Historical understanding data was analyzed using statistical analysis such as the t-test to compare differences between the experimental group and the control group. Data from the questionnaire was analyzed descriptively to identify user experience and satisfaction with the AR application. The computed t score of 6.21 is significantly higher than the 2.00 t table value. These findings indicate that the use of AR in history learning can increase student understanding and engagement. Apart from that, the use of AR also increases students' interest, motivation and interaction abilities and provides immersive experiences in history learning. This research confirms that AR has great potential to improve students' historical understanding while stimulating their interest, motivation, and interaction abilities in history subjects.

Abstract

So far, history learning has only focused on the national events of a nation. In fact, local history is an integral part of national history. Local history is able to provide a sense of pride and a deep understanding of regional culture. For this reason, an integrated local history module is needed so that students' understanding is better. The creation of the module is carried out through 3 stages, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. The resulting product is in the form of a local history module integrated with history lessons. The content in the module can be filled with local history material of Riau Province and iconic events in the area. In addition, modules can be filled with local terms that are close to the student's environment. Local historical elements are very important, because they can understand the struggle of ancestors in navigating their times and there are local wisdom values of a region. This service was carried out in Indragiri Hulu Regency because it was in accordance with the analysis of needs and its strategic location in developing local welfare modules.

Abstract

The 21st Century demands innovative educational models that incorporate technological advances to support research and teaching. This study examines the need to develop a research-based history learning model using the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework (RBL-TPACK) to enhance history education. The research adopts a Research and Development (RD) approach, focusing on the analysis stage. Participants include 27 history lecturers and 107 students. Data collection involved observations, interviews, and questionnaires, with qualitative analysis used to assess the necessity of RBL-TPACK in history education. Findings indicate that research-based learning (RBL) is crucial for supporting lecturers' tridharma responsibilities and enriching local history education. However, the integration of RBL into lecture content and outputs remains suboptimal. Students demonstrated a strong preference for incorporating lecturers' research outputs into learning materials. The integration of digital tools via the TPACK framework offers a promising approach, enhancing theoretical and practical learning dynamics. The study highlights the potential of RBL-TPACK to foster historical thinking skills and enrich learning experiences. Despite its importance, gaps in integrating RBL and digital tools into teaching practices persist. Addressing these gaps through a structured RBL-TPACK model can better meet the demands of modern history education. Developing an effective and contextually relevant RBL-TPACK model is vital to advancing history education and addressing the challenges of 21st-century learning. This foundational analysis underscores the need for further development and implementation of this innovative approach.

Abstract

Kajian penelitian ini menggali sejarah lokal yang dapat di manfaatkan dikelas sebagai sember belajar di SMA. Penelitian ini membahas Objek Sejarah Lokal Danau Raja. Penelitian ini sebagai bahan referensi dalam pembelajaran sejarah lokal pada sekolah menengah atas. Metode yang di gunakan pada penelitian ini ialah Studi Pustaka dimana penulis mengkaji dari berbagai sumber berupa artikel ataupun buku tentang peninggalan sejarah danau raja serta menganalisis kompetensi dasar yang ada di SMA. Penelitian ini berisi kutipan-kutipan untuk memberi gambaran penyajian laporan tersebut yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan mendeskripsikan penelitian ini akan mengumpulkan, mengevaluasi, dan menganalisis artikel-artikel ilmiah terkait untuk memahami dan menyajikan informasi terkini tentang tema yang diangkat. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini penulis menemukan bahwasanya objek wisata sejarah Danau Raja merupakan peninggalan sejarah lokal yang cocok dan dapat diintegrasikan pada pembelajaran SMA kelas XI pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Wajib dengan Kompetensi Dasar 3.2 Menganalisis sistem pemerintahan, sosial, ekonomi, dan kebudayaan masyarakat Indonesia pada masa kerajaan-kerajaan besar Islam untuk menentukan faktor yang berpengaruh pada kehidupan masyarakat, dengan materi pokok Sistem pemerintahan, sosial, ekonomi, dan kebudayaan masyarakat Indonesia pada masa kerajaan-kerajaan besar Islam di Indonesia yang berpengaruh pada kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia masa kini.

Abstract

This study is aimed at measuring the effectiveness of the 2013 Curriculum implementation assistance training program for school principals and History teachers conducted by the education office in Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, and Product) evaluation model introduced by Stufflebeam (2003). The data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation. The subject of the study was the Pekanbaru city education office. The results show that the evaluation of the 2013 Curriculum implementation assistance training program resulted in a background, goals, objectives, expected results, and legal basis; the Input Evaluation resulted in criteria for training participants, training preparation programs, companion criteria, training organizers, training facilities, mentoring strategies, mentoring patterns, mentoring training mechanisms, training manuals, training implementation schedules, and training funding; The process evaluation resulted in the implementation of mentoring preparation, program structure readiness, teaching material readiness, preparedness of assistant staff, readiness of organizers, and readiness of training facilities which became the foundation of the committee to carry out the training. Furthermore, the assistants carry out the learning process; Product evaluations produce training graduates' competency standards, the level of success of training participants, and the impact of training graduates. From the evaluation results, the context obtained a value of 4.96 in the Very Good category. While the process evaluation obtained an average of 2.6 Poor categories and product evaluations obtained a score of 2.80 Poor category. Overall, the evaluation component of the K13 mentoring training program for history subjects at the Pekanbaru City High School scores 3.7 in the Good category. This means that the implementation of the K13 mentoring training program for history subjects at the Pekanbaru City High School is at a good level.
