Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SDN Pasar Lama 6, focusing on the implementation of diagnostic assessments and differentiated learning. Diagnostic assessments are used as an initial step in identifying students' learning styles and mapping their interests, but the results are not always accurate because they are influenced by individual conditions when the assessment is carried out. Therefore, teachers conduct periodic evaluations to adjust learning strategies to be more effective. In implementing differentiated learning, schools implement heterogeneous student grouping to encourage collaboration and improve understanding of the material. The learning methods used vary, including inquiry models and project-based approaches, which allow students to be more active in the learning process. In addition, various supporting programs such as morning literacy, Healthy Friday, and milk drinking programs are implemented to improve students' well-being and learning motivation. Support from schools and teacher communities also plays an important role in the success of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, where teachers actively participate in learning communities and training to improve their competencies. With the strategies implemented, it is hoped that the Independent Curriculum can run more optimally and provide a more meaningful learning experience for students.

Abstract

The implementation of Merdeka Curriculum at SDN Pangeran 1 faces various complex challenges. One of the main problems is the high administrative burden and limited training for teachers. Although the Merdeka Curriculum is designed to provide flexibility for teachers in developing a learning process that suits the characteristics and needs of s tudents, in practice, many teachers feel even greater pressure. Administrative demands such as preparing teaching modules, filling in learner progress reports and making other teaching tools drain a lot of their time and energy. As a result, focus and creativity in the learning process in the classroom is often reduced. In addition, the lack of intensive training and assistance in understanding and implementing Merdeka Curriculum makes some teachers feel less confident and have difficulty innovating. This study aims to explore school policies in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum as well as the strategies used to overcome the obstacles faced by teachers. The approach used in this research is qualitative, which is conducted through in-depth interviews with principals and teachers, direct observation in the school environment, and analysis of relevant policy and administrative documents. The results showed a gap between the expectations of the curriculum and the reality in the field. Therefore, collaborative efforts between the school and the education office are needed to simplify the administrative burden, provide clear and practical implementation guidelines, and organize continuous training so that teachers can implement Merdeka Curriculum effectively and meaningfully.

Abstract

Differentiated instruction is a crucial approach in early childhood education, particularly in Kindergarten B, as it accommodates the diversity of students’ abilities, interests, and learning styles. This study aims to review the implementation of differentiated instruction in Kindergarten B through a literature analysis of national and international research published between 2015 and 2025. The method employed is a descriptive literature review using a qualitative approach, analyzing 20 verified academic sources, including publications by lecturers from Universitas Lambung Mangkurat and other higher education institutions. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction positively contributes to enhancing children’s learning motivation, creativity, and independence. Furthermore, this approach enables teachers to develop more flexible and child-centered learning strategies. However, several challenges arise in its implementation, such as limited instructional time, insufficient teacher skills in conducting initial assessments, and high student–teacher ratios. To address these obstacles, continuous professional development for early childhood educators and supportive policies that enable the implementation of adaptive and responsive curricula are needed. This review is expected to serve as a reference for developing inclusive and individualized learning practices that align with the diverse needs of early learners.

Abstract

The socio-emotional development of early childhood is strongly influenced by parenting patterns and internal family conditions. In today's social reality, more children are growing up in non-intact families with minimal paternal involvement and permissive parenting styles, which negatively affect their ability to build social relationships and manage emotions. This issue is crucial to examine, considering that early childhood serves as the foundation for subsequent psychosocial development. This study aims to explain the role of the family in the socio-emotional development of early childhood through a case study approach. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that: (1) the absence of a father figure leads to children being withdrawn and lacking self-confidence; (2) permissive parenting results in difficulties in emotional regulation; and (3) limited emotional support within the family contributes to low social skills in children.
