Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Project-Based Learning with a Research-Based Approach (PjBL-RBA) model in chemistry practicum on improving students’ conceptual understanding and scientific process skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 26 undergraduate students from the Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mulawarman University, Indonesia, selected purposively to represent learners actively engaged in laboratory-based courses. Data collection instruments included a conceptual understanding test, an observation sheet for scientific process skills, and documentation of practicum activities. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to determine statistical significance and N-Gain scores to measure the level of improvement. The results showed a significant enhancement in both variables with a p-value < 0.05. The average N-Gain scores of 0.53 for conceptual understanding and 0.38 for scientific process skills indicate a moderate level of improvement. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of Project-Based Learning with a Research-Based Approach in chemistry laboratory practice, which has rarely been explored simultaneously in previous literature. Therefore, the implementation of the PjBL-RBA model is proven effective and recommended as an innovative instructional strategy to strengthen students’ conceptual and scientific learning outcomes in higher education chemistry practicum.

Abstract

The coffee industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth in line with changes in lifestyle, particularly among students and young professionals. Coffee shops are no longer merely places to consume beverages but have evolved into spaces for social interaction, studying, and working. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the Point Coffee business using a business feasibility study approach covering market and marketing aspects, legal aspects, technical and operational aspects, management, financial aspects, sharia and halal compliance, socio-economic aspects, and environmental considerations. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, a mini-survey of potential consumers, and literature review. The results indicate that Point Coffee has strong market potential, primarily targeting students and young professionals, supported by a strategic location, affordable pricing, and a fast-service concept. From a financial perspective, the business is projected to reach its break-even point within 1–2 years with efficient operational management. Furthermore, Point Coffee is considered feasible in terms of legal compliance, management structure, and adherence to sharia and halal principles. The business also generates positive social and economic impacts by creating employment opportunities, utilizing local coffee beans, and implementing environmentally friendly practices. Based on these findings, Point Coffee is deemed feasible to be operated and developed sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning motivation through the application of the outdoor study method in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) for fourth-grade elementary school students. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with a two-cycle design, each encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were fourth-grade students at the UPT SD Negeri 060823 Medan. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the outdoor study method significantly increased student learning motivation. In the first cycle, student learning motivation was in the moderate category at around 55%, while in the second cycle it increased to around 90%. This increase in motivation was characterized by increased student activeness, enthusiasm in participating in learning, and student involvement in direct observation activities in the school environment. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the outdoor study method is effective as an alternative contextual learning method to increase student learning motivation in IPAS in elementary school.

Abstract

Chemistry learning faces challenges because topics such as reaction rates are abstract and require high analytical skills. Therefore, learning media such as ChatGPT are needed to provide additional explanations and support students’ learning process flexibly. This study aims to determine the effect of using ChatGPT on students’ learning outcomes in the reaction rate topic. The research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the intact group comparison type, involving 48 students divided into an experimental class and a control class, with the Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) learning model applied in both classes. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observations of learning activities. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the learning outcomes of students in the experimental and control classes (0.373 > 0.05), with learning activities in both classes categorized as good to very good. Therefore, the use of ChatGPT in learning has not shown a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes in the reaction rate topic, suggesting that its use needs to be more carefully designed to better support students’ understanding.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the differences in self-control based on gender among students of SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. Self-control refers to an individual’s ability to regulate behavior, emotions, and decision-making in accordance with prevailing norms, which plays an important role in adolescent development. This research employed a quantitative approach with a comparative design. The sample consisted of 63 students, including 28 males and 35 females. Data were collected using a self-control questionnaire based on a Likert scale covering behavioral control, cognitive control, and decision control aspects. The data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test with a significance level of 0.05, along with descriptive analysis. The results showed that there was no significant difference in self-control between male and female students, with a significance value of 0.505 (p > 0.05). Descriptively, male students had a slightly higher mean score than female students; however, the difference was not statistically significant. Therefore, gender does not influence the level of students’ self-control. This study suggests that future research should consider other factors such as family environment, education, and counseling interventions in influencing self-control. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kontrol diri berdasarkan jenis kelamin pada siswa SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. Kontrol diri merupakan kemampuan individu dalam mengatur perilaku, emosi, dan pengambilan keputusan sesuai dengan norma yang berlaku, yang berperan penting dalam perkembangan remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 63 siswa yang terdiri dari 28 laki-laki dan 35 perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket kontrol diri berbasis skala Likert yang mencakup aspek kontrol perilaku, kontrol kognitif, dan kontrol keputusan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji independent samples t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 serta analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kontrol diri siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,505 (p > 0,05). Secara deskriptif, rata-rata kontrol diri siswa laki-laki sedikit lebih tinggi dibandingkan perempuan, namun perbedaan tersebut tidak bermakna secara statistik. Dengan demikian, jenis kelamin tidak berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kontrol diri siswa. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya mempertimbangkan faktor lain seperti lingkungan keluarga, pendidikan, dan intervensi bimbingan konseling dalam memengaruhi kontrol diri.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari masalah empiris mengenai mekanisme pelayanan administrasi publik di Desa Muaro Pijoan, Provinsi Jambi yang masih belum optimal, dilakukan secara manual dan hierarkis melalui RT, serta menggunakan mekanisme berjenjang melalui Kepala Desa. Pola pelayanan seperti ini tidak hanya memicu inefisiensi waktu, tetapi juga membuka ruang bagi praktik-praktik yang kurang transparan yang bertentangan dengan prinsip-prinsip Good Governance. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana e-governance mendorong potensi pengoptimalan layanan publik berbasis digital melalui perspektif collaborative governance. Pendekatan mixed-methods dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif berupa penyebaran kuesioner kepada 110 responden perwakilan per KK, sedangkan metode kualitatif dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan anggota masyarakat dan aparat desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 88,18% responden menyatakan persetujuan terhadap implementasi layanan digital, dengan catatan adanya pendampingan literasi digital. Temuan kualitatif menyimpulkan bahwa sistem layanan yang ada saat ini belum mematuhi prinsip-prinsip transparansi, efisiensi, dan akuntabilitas. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi e-governance dengan berbasis kolaborasi memiliki sarana untuk meningkatkan layanan publik desa yang baik, khususnya dalam hal efisiensi waktu, transparansi, serta persepsi masyarakat atau kepuasan masyarakat.

Abstract

Background: Kebiul seeds are an Indonesian medicinal plant with potential antioxidant and chemopreventive properties against cancer. The development, growth, and invasion of malignant cancer closely link to angiogenesis, which antioxidant effects can influence.Objective: This study aims to evaluate the antioxidant activity of kebiul seeds based on the IC50 and their anti-angiogenesis effects.Method: Extraction was performed using the maceration method using ethyl acetate, n-hexane, and ethanol. The anti-angiogenesis test was conducted using the chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) method, while the antioxidant activity was assessed using the diphenylpyrrolhydrazyl (DPPH) method.Results: The finding revealed the antioxidant activity values, as indicated by the IC50, were 45.225 ppm for the ethanol extract (strong antioxidant), 86.190 ppm for the n-hexane extract (strong antioxidant), and 146 ppm for the ethyl acetate extract (medium antioxidant). Anti-angiogenesis tests were conducted across various solvents and concentrations. Significant anti-angiogenesis effects were observed at concentrations of 10, 50, and 1000 ppm. The n-hexane extract yielded average scores of 0.33, 0.66, and 1.3, indicating a good effect. The ethyl acetate extract had average scores of 0.33, 0.5, and 0.66, suggesting a weak effect, while the ethanol extract showed mean scores of 1.33, 1.66, and 2, indicating a strong effect. Conclusion: Ethanol extract demonstrates the most potential as a chemopreventive agent.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the National Sharia Board of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) in responding to Islamic financial product innovations through the issuance of fatwas. With the rapid development of the Islamic finance industry in Indonesia, adaptive sharia regulations for contemporary financial product innovations are needed. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a documentation study approach to DSN-MUI fatwas related to Islamic financial innovation products from 2010-2023. The results show that DSN-MUI has issued various fatwas regulating innovative products such as multi-service financing, Islamic credit cards, project-based Islamic bonds, and digital products such as Islamic electronic money. The DSN-MUI fatwa determination process uses istinbath methods including the Qur'an, hadith, ijma, qiyas, and the principles of fiqh mu'amalah. This study concludes that DSN-MUI fatwas play a significant role as a sharia legal basis for financial product innovation, maintaining sharia compliance, and providing legal certainty for Islamic financial institutions and customers. However, there are challenges in terms of response speed to rapidly developing product innovations and the need for more massive fatwa socialization to the public.

Abstract

Masa remaja awal merupakan fase transisi perkembangan yang sering ditandai dengan ketidakstabilan emosional. Di SMPN 10 Palopo, ditemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pengendalian impuls, yang mengarah pada respons spontan yang kurang adaptif saat menghadapi konflik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas layanan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan manajemen diri (self-management) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan regulasi emosi siswa.Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pengukuran awal (pre-test) dilakukan terhadap seluruh populasi siswa kelas tujuh (N = 66) untuk pemetaan awal, di mana 10 siswa dengan skor terendah dipilih sebagai subjek untuk kelompok eksperimen. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioneir skala regulasi emosi dan dianalisis menggunakan Pareid Sample T-Test melalui SPSS. Hasil pre-test populasi menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa berada dalam kategori sedang (50,7%). Setelah intervensi, ratarata skor kelompok eksperimen meningkat secara signifikan dari 104,50 menjadi 126,70. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,003 (p < 0,05), yang berarti hipotesis diterima. Kesimpulannya, layanan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan manajemen diri terbukti efektif secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan regulasi emosi siswa di SMPN 10 Palopo melalui penguatan aspek pemantauan diri (self-monitoring) dan pengendalian stimulus (stimulus control).
