Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze how mathematics is used in economics in terms of the function of supply and demand, which is an important concept in the economy that explains the relationship between the price of goods or services and the quantity requested or offered. Using a mathematical approach, these concepts can be described more quantitatively and accurately, allowing for a more in-depth analysis of the functions of demand and supply. To determine the components that influence changes in supply and demand, mathematical models such as linear regression and elasticity analysis are used. In addition, the study examines how price changes affect market balance and how the functioning of supply and demand can be influenced by things that come from outside, such as government policies and the global economic situation. Research results show that analysis of the function of supply and demand using mathematical models gives us a better understanding of market dynamics. For example, analysis of demand elasticity shows how sensitive consumers are to price changes, and analysis of supply shows how prepared producers are for price changes. Policymakers and market players can make more strategic and informational choices by knowing these mathematical relationships. The study found that mathematics improved the predictability and accuracy of economic analysis and provided essential tools for good decision-making in various economic contexts.

Abstract

Improving the economy and investment in Aceh province must be adjusted to the potential and social structure. Investments that are in line with the social structure and economic capacity of the local community can sustain Aceh's economic growth. The investment development process must be responded to quickly by the government, which has legal authority to implement various types of programs. One strategy to reduce Aceh's poverty rate is to maximize Aceh-Owned Enterprises (Badan Usaha Milik Aceh - BUMA), a business holding company with the Aceh government owning the majority (100%) of its capital and shares. The holding company named PT. Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA) aims to improve development, the economy, and Aceh's locally generated revenue. For this reason, a potential business analysis strategy is needed to be developed by PEMA in compliance with Aceh Qanun No. 5 of 2019 concerning Capital Participation of the Aceh Government in Aceh-Owned Enterprises (BUMA) and the format or scheme of capital participation or business scheme that is feasible to develop company profit and the sustainability of PEMA for the future. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenological approach through in-depth interviews and observations of informants on the PEMA business unit development strategy, namely commissioners and directors, academics, and the Aceh Investment Promotion Agency and One Stop Services. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) model and SWOT analysis are used in the data analysis process. This study found that the PEMA agro-industry sector business unit model has great potential to be developed with the building of a biodiesel factory. Additionally, this business unit empowers the welfare of Acehnese oil palm farmers.

Abstract

Abstract

Brunei Darussalam is an absolute monarchy with the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) philosophy that combines Malay culture, Islamic teachings, and the sultanate system in its legal and governmental structure. Brunei's legal system is dual in character: common law inherited from the British Empire and Islamic law, which was further strengthened after independence in 1984. This dynamic reached a critical point with the enactment of the Sharia Penal Code Order (SPCO) 2013, which expanded the scope of Islamic law from the family sphere to the criminal sphere. This article aims to analyze the development of Brunei's legal and judicial system within the MIB framework and examine legal reforms through the SPCO 2013. The research method used is a qualitative literature study approach, through a review of primary literature in the form of regulations and official documents, as well as secondary literature such as journal articles, books, and academic publications. The results of the study indicate that Brunei's legal system was formed from the interaction between British colonial influences, Islamic traditions, and the political legitimacy of the Sultan, united by the MIB ideology as a normative basis. The 2013 SPCO emphasized a more comprehensive transformation of Islamic law, despite international criticism regarding hudud punishments. In conclusion, Brunei's legal system serves not only as a normative tool but also as a political, social, and cultural instrument in strengthening the nation's identity.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the encoder from the No Language Left Behind (NLLB) model for sentiment classification tasks across several Indonesian regional languages. Originally developed for machine translation, the NLLB model is explored for its ability to generate contextual text representations that are relevant to sentiment classification. The dataset used in this study is NusaX, which comprises 12 languages, including Indonesian, English, and 10 Indonesian regional languages. Two training approaches were employed: fine-tuning, in which all model parameters were updated using sentiment classification data, and partial fine-tuning, in which only the upper layers were updated while the embedding layer was frozen to preserve the original lexical representations. Training was conducted using the AdamW optimization algorithm with CrossEntropyLoss as the loss function and mean pooling as the feature aggregation mechanism. Model performance was evaluated using accuracy and macro F1-score metrics at both the multilingual and per-language levels. The results indicate that the two approaches achieved comparable performance, with an accuracy of 81% and a macro F1-score of 80% on the multilingual dataset. Per-language analysis further revealed that the model performed better on languages that had been included in the original NLLB pretraining data, such as Acehnese, Balinese, Banjarese, Minangkabau, Javanese, and Sundanese, achieving accuracy scores ranging from 79% to 86%. In contrast, several languages that were not covered during NLLB pretraining, including Ngaju, Madurese, and Toba Batak, exhibited slightly lower performance, with accuracy scores ranging from 70% to 78%. These findings demonstrate that the NLLB encoder possesses strong adaptation capabilities for text classification tasks, even in the context of low-resource regional languages.

Abstract

In the digital governance era, the Omnibus Law also reflects Indonesia’s attempt to modernize its regulatory system through integrated and technology-driven policymaking. The Omnibus Law signifies a crucial reform in Indonesia's legislative and policy framework, especially affecting infrastructure and policy growth. Inspired by common law traditions, the legislation seeks to streamline restrictions and expedite economic progress. This article analyzes the implementation of omnibus legislation in Indonesia in relation to legal reforms within common law and civil law frameworks, highlighting their effects on infrastructure initiatives and policy efficacy. This study employs a comparative and qualitative research methodology to examine legal reforms, their execution, and the difficulties encountered in applying the omnibus law model inside a civil law jurisdiction. The findings underscore the Omnibus Law's capacity to optimize governance, draw investment, and improve regulatory clarity, while simultaneously mitigating the risks of legal inconsistency and public opposition. The study contributes to the discourse on how legal modernization and regulatory simplification reshape governance and society in Indonesia’s civil law context. This study contributes to the emerging discourse on digital constitutionalism within civil-law jurisdictions, highlighting Indonesia’s effort to balance innovation with constitutional accountability.
